Contrary to popular belief, it's not necessarily the heat from the sandblasting that causes metal to warp. The impact of the sandblasting is actually microscopically relieving the internal stresses that are created when the sheet metal is rolled at the steel mill and die-formed at the auto plant (pressed).

Soda and media blasting is great! Explodes on impact. Video is right on. Great Job. I have a Mobile blasting pot and it works wonderful.

I’m going to build one from an old propane bottle. The concept is very simple. Mine will just be smaller and easier to haul around.I will attempt to run both silica and soda through it. Should be doable.

Our soda blasters operate on as low as 10cfm @ 90psi.

Yes, except most home Air compressors huff and puff to put out 3-5 cfm. A 10 cfm compressor runs around $1,000 from what I see, way above the average DIY guy who's going to use it once

I have a knowledgeable friend who has warned me about soda. He is saying it is very difficult to get the soda off or out of the metal and leads to paint failure. Is he correct? Is crushed glass a similar problem?

      he is right!
alot of paint adhesion problems with soda blasting.
