L'ho visto dal vivo a Bologna nel 2002, allora rimasi totalmente stravolto e sbalordito. Col senno di adesso dico: tanto di cappello a Virgil Donati, batterista straordinario che ha dedicato e dedica la sua vita allo strumento e merita ogni rispetto. Personalmente non lo trovo sempre così musicale. Sia chiaro: io non sono nessuno e faccio pena in confronto
To reach such a high level of intensively technical drumming you need to practice approx. 25 hours a day ;-) Not to mention the fact, that you totally have to isolate yourself from the outside world :D
I can play stuff like this. Difference is, he's working a definite musical pattern while I'm just making shit up not knowing what the hell it's supposed to be! Difference is, He's totally legit where's im just blowing BS smoke!
