It would be easier to navigate these handheld and mini pc craze if there is a leaderboard of some sort with every video you put out prime
It's really not that hard, Minisforum is in the lead
You do realize that this channel is simply a commercial for the products, right? The fact that he doesn’t show any charts and rarely talks about a product being bad is all the proof you need.
@@Bob_Smith19 like all tech review channels are lmao
Don't be so damn pessimistic
@@victorkreig6089 beelink is good too but better bang for the buck with this and the um790
@@Bob_Smith19 EXACTLY!
It would be great if you could generally add a) a price tag (if available) and b) a noise test where we can get an idea of the noise level during gaming.
price tag is about 650usd or 759€
He never does that for some stupid reason 🤷
Trust me I've also asked and written, but he just ignores it. Especially the noise test
@@obvious_giraffe8386 Even if I click the links, it still wouldn't give me any information about the noise test
The price could change in a day or an hour from him posting a video. If he posted a price a bunch of angry people might comment about how the information was inaccurate even if it was accurate as of posting that's just a guess on why though.
@@SefJamReviews The price might change, but not the noise test
As someone who does very casual gaming on an old workstation with a GTX 1660, I can’t help but be extremely impressed by how far Intel has come with its Arc GPUs. They have paid attention to its customer base in terms of never ending updates to improve the quality of its GPUs. And that can only mean great things for consumers.
right. i really like the simplicity to this build! im starting to be tempted by this setup and i usually don't like their dedicated gpus all that much!
That's really nice at the sale price. Pretty impressive performance.
I was hoping to see more of this type of cooler design in mini PCs - heatsinks with coventional fans rather than typical laptop style blower coolers. Hope to see something in the future with a 120mm or 140mm fan mount
I would love to see this benched against the UM790. I am looking for more graphics power but LOVE the Minisforum PCs
Looking at component benchmarks, the UM790 should give you about 30% more cpu power but the integrated graphics on the 7940hs are only giving a bit more than half the performance of the mobile ARC.
That said, AMD's graphics tech is better supported so YMMV with specific use cases.
Looking at getting a minisforum to have something with more grunt for video editing than my 2015 laptop. Seem like good bargains..
@dyscotopia My thoughts exactly. What surprises me is how close these specs are to my similar sized custom miniITX with a NVIDIA 4060 based ZOTAC SOLO which is a half-length/dual slot card, but I am using 11500T , 16GB DDR4/1 TB PCIe3 M.2 SSD to keep the price at $600. This is coming in with an i7 12th gen at only $49 more is pretty good. I wished they would have made a barebones model for $550,and allow me to add my own RAM & SSD.
The Intel Arc A730M which does have hardware based AV1 encoding, should make this a decent video editing station. My only concern is the 6GB of GPU memory, when 8GB seems to be the low end for running all the new AAA games. This will also make a great OBS AV1 streaming box.
price wise, both of them are on sale atm. the um790 pro is 520usd and this hn2673 is 650. Unless you have the money to go for the egpu route(either via the standard egpu combo or the portable gpd g1 he mentioned yesterday) then the 790 is a better choice as it gives a bit of boost to the cpu power, however, for most cases you wouldn't need that much power to play high quality settings for any type of pc gaming or emulation with this unit. I'd say it's safe to say benchmarking isn't everything, what matters is the quality is good enough for your needs. imo, i would take this unit for just 650usd! it does a better job than building a full desktop to get the same gaming experience but costing more!
Agreed @efr89. A Comparison with the HX99G or the HX80G(on the lower end) would be a great side-by-side comparison even if they may be initially targeted at slightly different audiences.
Cool mini pc, would love to see a comparison between this and the HX80/90/99G.
HX80g seems to be better for about $50-$100 less (depending on where you are in the world).
If old HG99X review is still valid:
HG99X is noticeably more powerful (a bit more fps with 1440p instead of 1080p here), but costs about $200 more and draws about 40w more under load.
@@Mechazava I think the best competitor would be the hx80g. Since has pretty much the exactly same performance compared to the hx99g and the version with 32 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage is 759€ too (actual price on Amazon, in Spain)
@@Mechazava I guess the benefit of the HX99g is getting DDR5 memory instead of DDR4 but that's also a downside as DDR4 is way cheaper. I wonder how much a performance gain you really get going from the HX80g to the HX99g. Presumably neither the 5800H nor the 6900HX are bottlnecking the RX 6600M so unless you're playing CPU intensive games they're not much point
Better just get the HX90G since it's tad more cheaper.
I am definitely interested in seeing how the Intel mini PC runs emulators on Windows, how it handles Batocera, and how it handles SteamOS
Excellent review. MInisforum is hitting their stride this year and I have to hand it to their engineers who have shown ingenuity in their cooling systems. It is interesting how this compares to my custom miniITX micro tower that is the same height, but twice as thick due to being able to house a half-length, dual slot GPU that I filled with a ZOTAC RTX4060 SOLO and an older i11540T/16FB DDR4/M.2 PCIeX3 1TB NVME MSI, WiFI 6e/BT 5 Motherboard that I was using in an older build. With its Flex 500W power supply, which is much more than I needed to for this system that only draws 200W maximum, including the Gaming Lens 8.9" IPS touch screen & Sony DualSense . I had to create new custom screen bases sides to improve ventilation. A lot of work, but it worth it, well until I saw this, but even so, the RTX4060 has more memory and performs a tad better even with only an i5T .
It's actually well priced. Very nice product. I hope more pcs with laptop gpus come out. It makes so much sense.
In gaming laptops you have to be connected to the wall to get full performance anyway. Can't even have big cooling solutions due to physical limitations of a laptop.
But on a mini pc? These disadvantages don't matter. Just look at the temps on the cpu and gpu. That's impressive.
Rather impressive. Synthetics were pretty close to 21 ROG G15 with 5900hs and a 3070. No where near my custom desktop build with 5800x and a 3080ti, but damn impressive for that small of a machine.
I was watching your Aya slide video and got a notif for this, had to click.
ETA PRIME, if possible, create a new video about comparing new mini-PC with the same eGPU. Your last big comparison video was 1 year ago.
Thank you!
Ye I can
@@ETAPRIME Thank you! I appreciate it!
@ETAPRIME Make a verses video between the minusforumHN 2763 versus the HX99G that will be a good video
nice to see a new release when im looking at buying things like this, but the website doesnt list the height length and depth of this unit, and i have space requirements for the build im doing. ETA do ya think you can pop an update with the measurements of this thing? Im sure i wont be the only one that appreciates it.
Can you get dust filters for these PCs? I imagine this would look pretty unpleasant within a month or two without them (at least where I live) and having to take it apart to clean it so often would be a bit of a chore. Otherwise, very impressive. Hopefully we’ll get an AMD equivalent before too long.
Of course we need some emulation videos ❤
Welp I just bought it as a small video editing pc with light gaming in esports titles. Let’s see how it performs in premiere pro vs. my 3700x w/rtx3070 build. Hopefully the quicksync technology gives me a better timeline experience and faster render times than my current pc. I love a minimal, clean workstation so fingers crossed
Thank you ETA PRIME, really helpful reviews!
I mean its not actually a bad price for a mini PC. Little mini PC will be more and more wanted as time goes on. I hardly ever have my tower PC on anymore. Im shifting my gaming habits towards easy to run games. Saving energy has become a every day thing.
This could actually replace my current desktop. I'd like to see you do more Linux tests overall, check driver compatibility and so on.
youd probably be better off with the amd one with the 6600m since amd has the better linux drivers
This is dope. Will you do a high end emulation test please? Like xbox, xbox 360 or even ps3-4. I wonder if harder to emulate games can run smoothly on here. oor even Blender?
Great video but incorrect 2763 on the video chapter label thing (saw when rewinding). Will buy this A.S.A.P! Thanks for all the hard work.
Yep, this typo is actually present throughout the whole video description for some reason 😅
pretty insane system.. actually considering getting one.. price isnt bad either..
You know I just realized you said 1080. On high. Over 60.! On Cyberpunk.
I don't believe I've ever seen such a high score for an IGPU. On your channel or any other.
But currently. I'm watching five other videos. Trying to figure out which one seems to have the best frame times.
And right now this is second or third place. When I'm watching it it's in first. But there are five other machines with videos fairly comparable.
I sure miss the days when you included emulation performance in these reviews.
bit late to the party on this one but yea me too...was looking forward to see how ps3, wii u, 360 , switch would run on this
@@davidcharles243 Hey there. That's exactly what I was looking for. I ended up purchasing the Beelink SER6 Max with 16 GB DDR5 and 1 TB storage. I was able to get it for $409 on a sale they had last month but I see Amazon still has it for $439 which is still great for the level of performance and features it offers. Not even a year ago I was looking at over $600 for something that would handle those systems, so I'm glad I held out a little longer. Robtech, TechDweeb, and Retro Gaming Guy all have reviews showing the emulation performance and it does a great job on all of those systems. It's perfect for an emulation machine and also handles modern AAA titles at low to medium settings.
@@davidcharles243 Same here. I really need to find out if a HDD plugged into usb with RetroBat and roms will run nicely on this mini ps.
Now we want you to make video on emulation
Well, now I want to see the video card put into a Minisforum NAD9 to see if it gets more performance with the i9-12900H vs the i7-12650H.
Every time I see these PC I always wonder if they are strong enough to run unreal engine 5 or some kind of game engine for game building.
I'd get this sucker if it could I also wonder if it's strong enough for something like baldurs gate 3
I have a Densium4+ case. That case is just 5L, which is almost like 2 of those HN2673 side by side (if you include the HN2673 PSU brick, then it is the same size :D).
It can fit a standard ITX Board with 65W CPU cooler and a small 220mm long 2 slot GPU and it has a PSU build in the case.
The maximum that can fit is a 7800X3D (on Ecomode/65W) and a certain 4070 Zotac Twin Edge with minor modifications.
Not including the FLEX-ATX PSU, everything else are off the shelf parts. Which is much better compared to a Mini-PC that can't be upgraded...
If you buy similar hardware to the HN2673, then you even pay less with a SFF-PC...
Mini PC's are never price competitive with larger options. The whole point of them is the size.
The fan setup is interesting. They used four 80x15mm, from the looks of it.
The unfortunate part is, Noctua doesn't make a sterrox fan in that size.
I wonder if a 80x25mm fan would fit?
Even they normal 80mm from noctua would generally outperform typical cheap 80mm fans. So even without their special plastic design, would still be a good upgrade fan wise
@@goblinphreak2132 The problem is that noctua does not have a slim 15mm version of their 80mm fans, be it from their normal or redux lineup.
I'm OBSESSED with this mini PCs cause I just found out they exist but I don't think they are actually the best options for a graphic designer like me
How many PCs do you have in your house right now haha I love your content always making me wanna buy stuff should start having a price tag in the intro to let me know if I should keep watching haha!
The price is actually reasonable, I'm impressed. Would love a barebones option for $500-$529 though.
What's the noise like? Would be nice if anybody tested Proxmox GPU passthrough for Plex - this would be a great Plex Box and general server.
The performance was good and reflected the current offer price. The placing of the USB 2.0 ports on the back is disappointing as these are likely going to be used for keyboard/mouse/controller use and where wireless dongles are used, line of sight can make a big difference in the signal quality to the intended device. Having twin 2.5" SATA options is good, although I would have preferred just one with an additional M.2 NVME slot
8:54. Of course Cyberpunk is always the benchmark I'm waiting for.
Because Cry Engine is over 90% of what I'm running. And while it applies for other games as well. I find that some hardware. Is predisposed more to Tearing then other hardware.!
And that Arc is slaying it. Almost no tearing at all. If at all. It gets an excellent score.!
And I think it does from you too when you say. " You could play this all day long.!"
And I 100% agree with that assessment.
Because to be honest. I think what is the most immersive experience. And this is something that consoles figured out pretty early on is.
Not resolution. Not even framerate. But "Frame Times.!" and color spectrum.
Seems to be far more important to immersion. To the human brain.
While logically speaking. what you're looking at is better. If it is both high resolution and high frame rate.!
But traditionally speaking. consoles did not support that.
And of course the other end of the spectrum with PCs having both high resolution and high frame rate. But depending on the rest of the setup can really affect your frame times.
and frame time incongruency is what facilitates screen tearing.
So it's only those systems with frame times that do not result in tearing.
That are the most playable or "most immersive experiences.!"
And so that's what this machine does. It hits both of those boxes well enough to be considered a playable experience by at least the console standard.
But of course better.!
Or is it.? I thought you could play Cyberpunk at 4K on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series-X. am I tripping.?
PlayStation 5 is 399.00 right now at Target. and the Series X 459.99 at GameStop. While the HN-2673 Is 650 to 800. Though admittedly it's form factor is about 1/3 the volume of even the consoles.!!! Plus it actually runs Windows.!
But even if you can do 4K with console. Is that 60. Is that 4K 60 on console. I doubt it. I mean I remember hearing that's what they were saying. But I doubt it.!
Because they would need their frame times to be up there. and that usually means a reduction of both resolution and maximum frame rate.!
So even if it's possible for those consoles to achieve 4K60. I doubt it would be at the frame times expected of a console.!
which probably means that if it is doing 4K. It's not doing 4K 60. and is more probably doing 4K 30. or 4K 45.
probably maintaining the resolution. But fluctuating the frame rate. in order to maintain frame times.!
Under a Screen Tearing threshold.!
Anywho awesome device.! especially for its form factor and price performance.
And as always. excellent video.! 👍👍
I've been looking for a nice mini PC at a nice price with some good specs and this might just be the one.
The mini PC'$ just keeps getting better and better👍👍
How does this compare to the HX99G? Thank you
For me, low profile and portability is important above almost all else, so this might be a pretty good pick for my first pc! Do you think you could test emulation on this mini pc?
This PC is more than capable of emulation. If you're just doing emulation, you actually wouldn't need something this powerful. Minisforum has plenty of $300ish options that are good for that.
@prefontaine2790
I'd want to use my pc for more than just emulation, it's just that is my frame of reference for how powerful a phone or PC is (which the more I see, the more skewed that kinda is, since most PC's can do easily what phone's struggle with)
@@thebarbiter4644 oh yeah I get that. I have a laptop that performs at about the same level as this thing, & it can run basically everything at 4k max settings with frame generation. You'd be happy with this for 99% of games, & it would have no problem with emulation. Tho, you can build a more powerful mini-itx PC for the same price. It's complicated, but building your own PC will usually save you money & give you the option of upgrading instead of replacing your whole PC.
@@prefontaine2790
Do you know of any good mini-itx builds?
I know HoloISO hasn't been updated a while, and has trouble with Intel chips, does Chimera OS have the same problem?? If not I would be interested in seeing it's results....or maybe another Linux.
I would like to see these fans turned upside down, blowing the hot air out... And also to know the performance in 1440p.
🤣🤳Still punching the vase is cyberpunk I luv it.... lol that's true benchmarking right there 👍
Nice little machine, however I thought the Arc730m had 12GB of Vram. Can this be upgraded to an Arc 770m?
It would be great to have a sticker on all your videos to show us if the PC is a triple A gaming PC so we know what we are looking for and all details... other people are not interested in triple A gaming PC... another sticker would help them... it's much easier for anyone...
Hoping to see more tests on video and photo editing on every miniPC reviews.
Interesting little machine. Can all of those video outputs (both HDMI, and both the USB-C) be used to drive displays simultaneously? Looking into a mini computer for a virtual pinball build and looks like this might be a good option if it can drive those displays (at least three, preferably up to four).
So is this the most powerful mini gaming PC?
Wow! Very impressed by this little pc. I'd love to see it do some emulation too.
Emulation coverage would be nice to see. But when he mentions "Spiderman Miles Morales,1080p, Very High, no resolution scaling" we retro guys can assume 2x-3x res GameCube/Wii/WiiU/3DS/PS2/Switch and native-res PS3/Xbox360. Any hiccups reflect more on the maturity of the emulator than on the hardware at this level of performance. Beyond those systems we can rely on PC versions of most console games. So when it comes to retro console emulation, I think we're deep into diminishing-returns with a PC this powerful.
@@wingsfromheaven8788 That's excactly what I was hoping for. If I plug a 8TB external HDD via USB 3.0 with RetroBat and roms, do you still think it would run good...or does the slower nature of external HDDs ruin the Emulation quality/speed?
@@lenniskovgaard8278External drives over USB 3.0 or better are plenty fast for retro gaming applications.
If they make something like this with OCuLink, it’d easily be my new desktop.
If you are intent on using egpu, buying something with integrated dgpu is a complete waste. Not only will it add some useless extra that costs money and larger size, dgpu will also take some pci-e lanes that could've been used on second nvme port (or OCuLink port). Better just take minipc with igpu and two nvme ports, and add nvme-to-oculink card into one of those. Or even just use nvme-to-pcie riser if pc wont be moved/detached that often.
After seeing this one hesitant to upgrade my current mini PC to the GTR 7 might hold off now and wait for this to come down and price some I'm sure it's somewhere around a grand plus
Thanks for the presentation. Did you test Micro Soft Flight Simulator 2020. If not what do think. Regards
Man this the first time seeing an Intel Arc mobile chip I have been waiting for Intel to release these chips. The performance is very good so far. Intel has come a long way. Maybe at some point we can see Arc mobile chips in handheld gaming PCs.
So I got this as an ad...nice.
Where do you get that wallpaper with the girl and sword?
How would this unit handle music production? I’ve seen your other build video’s but you have never mentioned this. Great reviews by the way
That's quite the large power brick! Could you share the dimensions of it?...and the dimensions of the PC itself? I can't seem to find them anywhere with the link in your description.
*before getting to bench section* I’m hoping this is more powerful than last year model with the AMD discreet GPU. I wanted to get that already but couldn’t really fork money… as time passed I was expecting Minisforum to update it with a 7-gen AMD really (was hoping to have a SteamOS boot as well).
I’m gonna be frantically open the old vid and compare stats side by side…

With this beast there's a big difference
@@Tarek_Issa77 difference in what way? thanks
I do wonder if this would be cheaper than getting a mini PC with similar specs but connecting an e-gpu to it.
very interesting, I'm evaluating it as a PC for video editing, how does it behave with Premiere Pro? Are there any compatibility issues with the ARC video card?
Those Intel gpus are showing really capable for what they are. However, I find sketcy not mentioning all the drivers infancy/poor backward compatibility related issues these graphics card have. I used to love your reviews, but recenlty no matter what the product you review, you only always show the pros, and never the cons (which imho are what drive a customer to buy or not).
How does Diablo 4 run on this. I know in most of your other videos that Spiderman has been the deciding factor for high setting. I've been looking into a mini pc and mainly to play ff14 and d4. This model seems to be the best so far.
Very very good price point - this might be the one I finally get. The sticking point for me is just Intel Arc.
Nice piece of hardware ❤

Every where i look MXM intel arc is supposed to have 12 Gb of vram, why do this model only comes with 6 gb. Of vram?
Did I just heard this correct, it got 2 x USB 2.0 ports? Why would you do that?
It would be great if you added emulation test like rpcs3
Hey, Could you try to swap it to a different MXM card to see how upgradeable it is? (Or is that not the main purpose of not soldering down the gpu?)
whats with the 6600m mini pcs? the 6600m is 3 years old and is just a little slowlier

Who is this supposed to appeal to? If I want a small PC, I will bit a mini PC with integrated graphics. If I want to game and it is going to be on my desk anyway, I will build a Micro ATX that has no compromises.
Bugger, I already went with the UM790 pro...
Should I get this over an Xbox Series X or PS5?
I've been happy with the minusforum HX80G and am looking forward to future quiet mini pcs with the most modern dedicated gpus. The Minisforum HN2673 with the Intel ARC A730M just isn't good enough.
maybe but kicks hx80g ass. For a first purchase would be better than the 90g and 80g
I keep seeing it, but I can't find it- what is the train-themed live wallpaper?
Very cool but why a 12th gen Intel and not a new 13th gen?
Just out of curiosity could you use that PS4 Pro that you put Linux on and try to run Ratchet and Clank?
