- Jesus Christ gave us the gifts of the Church, prophets, scriptures, our nation, and, above all, His life. What can we give to Him?

"As we enter this Christmas season, a season of getting and giving, I would like to talk to you about a few of the many gifts we have received from our Lord, Jesus Christ, and what we in turn might give to him.
First, he gave us the perfect model-himself-after which we are to pattern our lives. He said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). Not only did he lay down before us the perfect example for earthly living, but for our sake he willingly gave us his life. He went through an agony both in body and spirit, of which we cannot comprehend, to bring to us the glorious blessing of the Atonement and the Resurrection (see D&C 19:15-19).
Secondly, in addition to Christ providing us the gift of his life as a model, he has provided us the gift of a prophet. Of all mortal men, we should keep our eyes most firmly fixed on the captain, the prophet, seer, and revelator, and President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is the man who stands closest to the fountain of living waters. There are some heavenly instructions for us that we can only receive through the prophet.
Thirdly, in addition to the gifts of the life of Christ and his prophet is the gift of his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, “the only true and living Church upon the face of the whole earth” (D&C 1:30). There is no salvation nor exaltation for us outside of the Church. Through it we receive baptism, priesthood, celestial marriage, and other sealing powers. It is the organized means which God is using to establish and expand his work.
Fourthly, in addition to the gifts of the life of Christ, his prophet, and his church is the gift of scripture, particularly the Book of Mormon.
Fifth, in addition to the gifts of the life of Christ, his prophet, his church, and the Book of Mormon is the gift of his Constitution. The Lord said, “I established the Constitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up” (D&C 101:80). Among the opening words of his dedicatory prayer at the Washington Temple, President Kimball referred to our inspired Constitution.
And now, my friends-what can we possibly give to the Lord this Christmastime? In consideration of all that he has done and is doing for us, there is something that we might give him in return.
Christ’s great gift to us was his life and sacrifice-should that not then be our small gift to him-our lives and sacrifices, not only now, but in the future?" - Elder Benson

This is a treasure to hear Pres Benson talk about our constitution and our fathers of freedom.
There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God, Jesus is not God and is not the son of God, rather he is the Messenger of God O Christians, read the Noble Qur’an, for it is the word of God. , was not distorted. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, and we Muslims believe that Jesus is the Messenger of God.

Like all great Prophets President Ezra Taft Benson was a great spokesman of God and powerful witness of Jesus Christ and the good news of His teachings. I love President Bensen for the great patriot he was and and the great love of America that defined his life.
...I am really enjoying listening to this Prophet again. He really is a wonderful man and leader and prophet....and really knows first hand how government works....and our country. I will always honor him for putting the Book of Mormon more in the forefront of our lives....
I listened to one of his messages last Monday and it was just as on point today as it was when he gave it 50 years ago.
As I grew up margarine was on our table because butter was too expensive. That was because the government pushed the price up by buying lots of it (and then gave it away). This was to artificially prop up the failing dairy farmers. Even though Secretary of Agriculture, President Benson was against this policy, but had to carry it out. He was a brilliant economist. I love reading about his life

Give God your best touches my soul. Thinking of the boy his dad died but with the help of the Savior,was able to give God his best. I am reminded to press on the seeking divine guidance against emotional disturbance.I am grateful to Heavenly Father for receiving teaching of the word of the doctrine of Christ in both sides of the veil.God wants us to succeed in making a difference in lighting the world , with the help of the Savior Jesus Christ.

People keep asking why don't we hear talks like this, he answers that very question
at 14:04, it's called the samuel principle. If we tell the seers what to do they aren't telling the seers, but God, and he allows it to happen so we live with the coincedences and have to deal with it. It's called the Samuel principle.
Isaiah 30:10 - "Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits"

Somehow, I am drawn to his talks...I feel like the Prophecy of the "Elders of Israel...bearing-up the Constitution from the brink of ruin"...is near. I feel an urgency within my own being to stand forth and bring others to this standard: We must also fight for the life of this nation...and express ourselves boldly against those who would destroy the Constitution. I pray we all will have that kind of courage.
Just think, this was given in 1974!
