While Neuv and Arle are definitely undoubtedly powerful, my favorite thing about playing them is that they’re largely self-sufficient, selfish DPS. They don’t need shielders or healers to feel fun and comfortable to play, empowering their damage through their health before healing themselves makes them so independent and freeing to play, a team only exists to further empower them rather than actually support them really.
This! My main abyss team before is Ayaka and Hu Tao. While they're both great, I find Arle and Neuvi is a bit easier for me to play.

my fav unit back back back then was ningguang with proto amber, in a way it makes her self sufficient, dmg, shield with crystallize and amber's burst heal
with neuv and arle, this is like my ning build compressed into unit's kit minus the shield part

the biggest reason for kazuha in the first half is because the tap of his skill will trick the cryo kenki into not using its dash because you are airborne and it will want to knock you down with ranged slashes, allowing you to clear faster with aoe attacks as all kenkies are close together

Maybe enjoy Candace for what she is instead of wishing for the eleventeenth Yelan, and maybe then she wouldn't be hydro Xinyan? She's not bad, but yeah, when you pit her against current 5 stars and metas, she will stick out as being "not OP as X or Y, so just make her X or Y".
She doesn't even need major changes. Just nerf Bennet, make her buff more than just NA's, and either give her more triggers for a quick swap comp or fix her buff and skill CDs so they line up with current driver up times.
Or ya, just throw her Benny's 85%-115% attack buff that also heals and can infuse while lasting 6 full seconds longer on the same CD instead of her piddly 20%; that'll surely make her unique. Why make characters into characters already available? IS she getting on National? No. CAN she be on National? Yes. SHOULD she be? Make a decision. You want to slot in one of eight Yelans into an established team each release?
true.. also without C6, her infusion is like 9 seconds.. take the aniation burst and the char switch and you barely have 6-7 seconds of hydro infusion making it even more useless :/ And my candace is 9/9/9.. because i really like her. but she's just too easy to replace.
@@tuxedonoir7970 yeah no she sucks even at C6 because her ER problems are huge, if youre playing her as the solo hydro you need around 230-250% ER to burst every rotation which means youre sacrificing her own dmg by building ER (no hp or crit substats)

Liyue: Hutao, Yelan, Xingqiu, Zhongli (double hydro)
Mondstadt: Diluc/Benett/Kaeya/Rosaria (Melt) or just for the memes Eula/Mika/Rosaria/Fischl (physical)
Inazuma: Raiden/Sara/Yae/Kazuha (mono electro) or Itto/Gorou/Chiori/Kazuha (mono geo)
Sumeru: Nahida/Candace/Collei/Cyno or Nahida/Alhaitam/Candace/Dori (quickbloom) - Super clunky team but i cant think of any other team with only Sumeru characters

We can definitely expect a comeback of cryo as we have seen with Navia (crystallize) and Xianyun (plunge)

Almost every cycle of the abyss in Fontaine era, Cryo is now neglected more than ever.
Wanna play freeze? There's a boss in the chamber.
Wanna power your way throught it? It's the dancing robots so success is very slim.
Can't play freeze? Then go Melt.
Your Benny, XL, and Nahida unavailable? Hyperfridge it is then, the blooms will carry you through it.

obviously the spiral abyss will favor the character in current banner, when there's a new cryo character is released then they'll change the spiral abyss to favor cryo and screw pyro over.

I have actually fully cleared this Abyss using Arlecchino Overload team (1st half) and the premium Xiao team (2nd half). Of course, the only difficulty there is to this are the Abyss Lectors, but the team can realistically just spam Faruzan charged shots and Furina Salon Members to wittle the shield (though, this method takes over a minute to work).
I was having trouble on the first side because I don't have a pyro DPS, and since the second chamber has a cryo shield I wasn't able to find how to slot pyro characters. That was until I told myself "fuck it, my wanderer is strong enough" and used him with Bennett and Thoma who ended up being enough pyro application to melt the shield, after that wanderer was indeed strong enough to brute force second chamber even though it has huge anemo resistance

You don’t even need a pyro character in the upper half, just an ousia character (Furina/Lynette/etc.) and the shield breaks in one hit.
It's weird how few are those brave enogh to run Navia, Furina and Noele (+ another elemental aplicator for Navia's shards). This team has become my confort one both for most world bosses and to explore fontaine (Only now I have time to 100% it)

Those abyss lectors and the Iniquitous Baptist are the reason I built a specialised burgeon team based in Thoma.
burgeon team with Thoma was my go to team when dealing with those Baptist in spiral abyss before, but now with Arlechino I dont need this burgeon team anymore since my arlechino team can clear this chamber more faster than my Nahida, Xingqiu, Thoma & Kuki/Bennet

I think an interesting thing about hutao versus arlecchino is that some of their best supports barely overlap, yelan and zhongli do want to be used by both in some situations but you can always just run xingqiu with hutao on a furina xianyun team instead od the usual double hydro zhongli team, or just run arle on overload/mono pyro. I hope we can evetually see abyss clears with pyro hypercarries on both chambers
Ive already been using them both in the abyss rn with arlecchino + xq hyper first half and hu tao plunge with CR n furina yelan on second half
I had to use a pretty unique team for second half since its good to have so many different elements but most my strongest teams have 2 primary elements
For the last chamber if you're doing a cryo team (and using Kazuha), you can get hit by the boss' pyro attack and infuse your burst with pyro thus breaking his cryo shield easily.
In the last chamber, the boss' cryo shield will always be preceded by a pyro one. Because of this, you can finish it off with Kazuha's burst, which will then be infused with pyro, and that infusion will partly overlap with your second rotation, melting the shield away.
Meanwhile I used both hu tao and father in this abyss

This new abyss really complicated to make a party with, especially second half. The abyss baptist and abyss herald elector really forcing you to use pyro, hydro or dendro. To add it up, the enemy on second half is really really like to split away making it necessary to have anemo grouper like kazuha or venti.
I manage to do it with a really weird party contain raiden, bennet, xingqui and venti. I gotta said, venti does a lot of job here making sure those enemy in second half always group together. Saving a lot of time for the lack of damage my second party has.
I went plunge klee for chamber 12 second half and it worked really well.
Xianyun, furina, xingqiu for particles and klee. Surprisinly good.
I've been using Arlecchino, Yelan, Albedo and Zhongli for quite some time now, and it's rather fun to play, I wish I had Kazuha's signature sword to put on Albedo to buff Arlecchino's normal attacks even further.
I used to be a Hu tao Maine but when she came out I and seeing her insane damage she replaced my hu tao

actually, you can go mono pyro for 1st team (arle xiangling bennet kazu) and go hutao yelan xq zhongil for 2nd. with the exception if any of the abyss chamber contain anti pyro enemy or not
Can you suggest me a team for second half? Doesnt have much char like (Kazuha, Kokomi, Xiao), but on first half i use (Zhongli, Arlechino, Bennet, Xq/Yelan). I have Hyperbloom team or Aggravate Quicken, also Nahida and Hutao and Navia as second dps.
I think of the meta as a blueprint. If you can get other characters of the element to work with your favorites you can achieve the same results.

With abyss lectors I just put Diana in a team and had no problem (wanderer, furina, faruzan, Diona)
I personally like Arlecchino best in Chevreuse overload teams, so i'll still be using Hu Tao for vaporize, especially because she works better with Xianyun. I used Hu Tao, Xianyun, Furina, and Yelan for the last couple of abysses and it just destroys everything easily.

When I got ayaka + shenhe with their signatures, I felt so powerful that they can melt everything into oblivion, but now they cant do shit, I gave mistplitter to furina, and shenhe there chilling with calamity.

How does usage data gathered? I wonder how much usage data isn't gathered from folks that don't submit their teams. I'm using Chiori C6R1 who completely obliterates things quickly

Me playing ninqquan in a mono geo team and Kaveh Bloom team in this meta feels like beeing the special child in the class ahahah
it's impossible to complete f12 with mono geo RN due to elemental shields, lots of cryo enemies slowing down itto, bond of life killing healerless mono geo and so on
Since the game lunch I clear floor 9-10-11 and with random heroes. I just pay attention to make some reaction so I will not bring full electro team. Sometimes I bring heroes which does not even have artifact but still easy win
The floor 12 is hard for 3 start if you don’t check the enemy team but I am too lazy to check it so I just skip it
As someone who has both Hu Tao and Arlechinno, and has used one on EACH side of the latest floor 12 Abyss, I would say that they are both equally powerful. I think most theorycrafters put Hu Tao ahead in terms of consistency on longer fights.
As for me though, Arlechinno is just........... "simpler" to play. C0 Hu Tao requires jump cancelling, and C1 Hu Tao's dash cancelling both need some level of skill to be as efficient as possible, and for most players, that's the biggest downside of playing the cute funeral director.
And if you go beyond C1, it's obvious that Arlechinno's constellations pull ahead MUCH further than Hu Tao in terms of raw power. Hu Tao's C6...... is extremely bad. Lol.
The level of skill required to play C1 Hu Tao is greatly exaggerated. Attack, attack-hold. Attack, attack-hold. Attack, attack-hold. Attack, attack-hold. Timer at 7 seconds? Okay, use her burst and set up for the next rotation. And C0 even has the option of Plunge Tao now if you should so choose.
Anyway, with you on "just use both." My C0 Arlecchino feels smooth, but not OP. Dunno how much is skill, how much is gear, and how much is hearing how wonderful she is from aquatic mammals.
Arle is more flexible since swapping to another teammate doesn't lose her pyro unfusion unlike yoimiya or hutao. Hutao is more strict and less margin for error.
@benchewy7842 I don't know about that "swapping" is a loss. Since swapping to a healer after furina's burst after draining a little bit of hp gives more buff. Since Arle can't be healed. The best thing is heal the other characters and it needs swapping out of Arle to get the max furina buff.
@benchewy7842 that's a beginners perspective. Mid maxing rotations include the perfect timing when to ult, especially during "double swirling" and timing buffs. The "support-support-subdps-maindps" is not the end-all be-all of rotations especially that we have a lot characters now. That rotation literally cannot be used in Navia. Because you have to ult first or ult second before elemental application. It also cannot be used on Arle teams, since it is ALWAYS necessary to start with Arle skill before support skill. That rotation is applicable for UNFLEXBILE dps like Hutao, Yoimiya, Cyno, Xiao - since swapping removes their damage potential. But that is NOT the Rotation for everyone. Generalizing rotations to a single sequence is basically a beginner's perspective. Sorry to tell ya but you really don't understand how Arle works since your rotation is support-support-,subdps-Arle
@benchewy7842 so you saying, for a normal player, for example- arlechino runs out of shield and is near dying and burst is on cooldown, you don't swap to zhongli? A dead Arlechino is a greater DPS loss. That's literally my main point. If you use Hutao, then let's say, you miss a dodge or your shield ran out, you simply cannot swap to a shielder and come back immediately. But with Arle you can freely and still not run out of damage potential since the pyro infusion doesn't go away. That's my point. I did not say that Hutao has lesser damage. I said she has smaller room for error. What are you even yapping about? LMAO.
I don't have candace, so instead I have been using barbara instead her e move is quite useful for hydro app, but the healing is probs the only prob

Regarding the first team you looked at (Arlecchino, Zhongli, Yelan, Bennett) is Xingqiu a reliable substitute for Yelan?
It's fine, obviously you'll do less damage.
Xingqiu's benefits over Yelan (defensive utility, slightly more hydro app) don't really matter in this particular team, but at a baseline he is still a great unit to run for vape teams.
I'm probably one of the few people who cleared this abyss cycle with the classic Ayaka Freeze team(Chamber 2 side)...

i think comparisons for hu tao and arle are never going to be fair, since hu tao is an older unit most people (that want her/want that playstyle) have her AND if you have both, arle takes one of more teammates hu tao uses to work. arle will most likely end up around hu tao, once the newness wears off
The best part is you can use Arlecchino's comfy team on one side of the abyss and Hu Tao's double hydro team on the other side. It won't work always. But it's nice to still use Hu Tao rather than pull an andy and be like "I'm not playing with you anymore"
well.. this abyss was crafted to make pyro/arlecchino shines.. no wonder she can do both sides
People seems to forget that abyss is ALWAYS made to favor the character you can pull in that banner. (except reruns)

My Father team in the current Abyss is Father/Thoma/Kazuha/Xingqui. I use Xingqui instead of Yelan because of her energy issue.

Hu tao was my best pyro dps with lyney but I hate to play with her. With father I can use staff of toma on my zhongli, wich I always preferred to do anyway.

I think arlecchino mono pyro comp is way better than arlecchino vape with yelan in this abyss. The more pyro u can bring the faster the electro shields of the enemies gets break

Idk if thats my skill issue but I could not beat abbys 12 second half (36 stars) with hyperbloom, I needed pyro for baptist, finally I made it with burgeon on second half.

I have C1R1 Hutao with 70/200 crimson , but my Arle C0 Whitetassel with 70/185 BOL artifact already over powers her. Also that Arle not loosing her infusion when switching already leaves hutao behind...
I used both Hutao and Arlecchino, just to pay tribute to Hutao who has carried me since 1.3
Arlecchino is definitely an easy replacement if you don't like charged shots but Hutao's playstyle is fast and great for single bosses. I still think Double Hydro Hutao is better, so I use Arlecchino with Chevreuse Overload for consistency

burnmelt comp work just fine on the second half, sure cryo is not the best to deal with baptism's pyro shield but it can definitely be done, with burnmelt it's not a problem with wriothesley and ganyu
Ok so clear me one thing wouldn't xinqiu be a better pick for arlecchino than yelan since she doesn't really do much for her while xinqiu can provide some Interruption res as well as hydro shred meanwhile yelan buffs ult which is not really a thing for arlecchino unless you don't know how to dodge that is you'll use your burst as many time as you get
As a Hutao main, I already know I can clear the abyss with her no sweat. Just testing out Father. Still getting used to her. I got one shoted a lot because I cant heal her in pinch.

Diona listed at bottom-of-the-barrel 0.2% surprised me a *little* considering I often use her with Hu Tao, and did here to get the cryo for the Baptist.
it's so funny to me how i invested so much into heizou and wriothelsey teams while right now there are too many roadblocks for anemo and cryo... guess my trio is waiting for snezhnaya to become more relevant once again and heizou for that mondstadt comeback
yeah I am that 30% who uses Hu Tao still cuz she's my first and most invested character in this game, I don't have Arrlecino build at her max I only got lev 80, talent 7,7,6, 4pc BoF set, and Jade spear on her.
Me who used Alecchino on 1st Phase and Hu Tao Plunge on the 2nd phase
Crazy her overload team isn’t up there.
Hu Tao is one of those 5stars i wish I could trade for another one, or at least get my primos back.
Her playstyle sucks without the constellation to offset the stamina cost of her charged attacks.
Wish the would implement such a feature to trade in unwanted 5stars for other goodies.
I dont know why is the abyss more harder?, cause last abyss reset has the same enemy units and was quite easy with my arlechino still have a under developed build (CR/CD is around 40/120 with CrimsonWitch and now Harmonic with 70/160 with max talent)
Previous blessing was extremely strong (pyro reaction --> all element res shred).
Current blessing is kinda trash (heal --> ATK buff).
Don't worry ayaka mains you will get your buff 6.0 and I'm sure they wouldn't do something unexpected like making physical meta or release cryo archon and cyro dragon or making more bosses that are immune to cryo
I used plunging hutao, yelan, furina, xianyun on phase 1 and random reactions go yoimiya, kokomi, nahida, yae on phase 2
I like hutao character design more but I am not using her anymore in abyss
even though calcs seem similar for both, I think Arle is a lot better c0s0 without tryhard artifact investment
and I was forgetting a lot easier to play, no finger pain (I play in mobile)
and no surprise her and neuv being in the top of the list as dps
I can 36* first try compared to back In the day When i suffered multiple runs trying to get the 36 with raiden and hutao
note: my relics are average at best for all my characters I only login 2 times a month to do abyss and I only play consistently when I get lucky with pulls and need to farm a new character
i use mono team on abyss lector well still get 3 star as long as keep on healing and keep xiao alive. and also the four season abyss
In My opinion ... If Player dont compare chars then they can enjoy every char they got to the fullest
My strategy to use the Ayaka Kazuha Kokomi Shenhe team against the Baptist was to do the following:
Weaken the first shield (pyro) with kokomi's normal attacks, then cast Kazuha's burst, Pyro asorb his burst, and then use the pyro to break the Cryo shield
Since the order is always Pyro->Cryo->Electro I found this strategy to work consistently enough
My team for arlecchino is Arle, xingqiu, zhongli and Chiori. Arle replaced my hutao and added Chiori to it, since Arle feels more well rounded and less stamina hungry than hutao.
I dominate the abyss with a overload team with my C2 Raiden C4 Yae and C1 deyha and C6 chev
I dunno why people are not playing more dendro on the first half? You don't need Furina for Coppelius, just use the Hero's Blade from the Narzissenkreuz quest line and you can play Hyperbloom and Nilou's Bloom team (with Kirara or MC holding the weapon).
...because you need the narz blade. youre nerfing someone's damage or utility just to run a specific dendro comp in there when you could just run something that either naturally destroys the shield (with pyro) or already runs someone with an arke that happens to already fit a team youre doing.
The current meta on the CN server is using Furina for Nilou teams to break the 1st half while using Childe Intl for the 2nd half.

@@silverYolo What nerf? Traditional Nilou bloom with Nahida/Kokomi/Collei has Kokomi do 51% of the team's total dmg (see gcsim cJzd8chhHmQD). Having Kirara hold the blade is natural: You get the shields and can stay a little longer with Nahida/Alhaitham on field. Again, we have done the calcs and in an Alhaitham variant the majority of the dmg is from him/xingqiu (gcsim jb9NmqG6hWwN).
Both variants give you more than 2 min for the second half.

This is the first abyss I haven't 36 starred in a while because I don't really like playing any of the pyro units... my side 1 team manages with Dehya/Xianyan/Navia/Furina, but I can't find a team I can play side 2, I never understood Hu Tao, and she always seems underwhelming to me (and yes, skill issue I know), and though I did get Arlecchino, I don't have her sig or her Constellations, and I just.. don't get her at all, I've tried both teams, even subbed in Yanfei, but that 2nd half on the first side is just.. brutal (seriously?!? 3 separate waves with HP sponges with annoying mechanics?!?! who does that?!?!?!?)
I played HuTao first cycle and Arlecchino second cycle. I didn't have Arlecchino during the time I cleared first cycle. Pretty similar clear times I got. That being said, Arlecchino is easier and more novel.

Alrechino is easier to play with and has a longer uptime and also punishes you less for messing a thing or two
I actually couldnt clear abyss with arleccchino. I had to use hutao beacuse she has more i Frames
