I have watched more than 10 types of car ramps but, this is exactly the best because of the various height adjustment capability. thanks for your nice work 👏👏👏
Really love the idea here Don. I have a mustang and a jeep so this makes perfect sense. I need 4 of them and will start this project tomorrow morning. Thanks for sharing.
This looks perfect for what I am needing! Thank you for the video. You should post a follow-up showing it being used. After I make one I will post my results.
Great idea - Trailer Aid Plus now sells for $78 Canadian on Amazon and doesn't always work - your project costs about $10 in material AND YOURS WORKS ...... thank you for your effort.
Howdy Don Chapman, I was thinking about purchasing one of those Trailer Aids Ramps up until I just seen yer video. I really like yer idea, and think this this is the way to go. I think I'd trust this method over the plastic anyway... Again, Thanks for sharing the video... Happy RV'ing
I had not though about cutting off nails to make pin to hold the blocks. I will build one tomorrow to use as leveling blocks. It is a lot cheaper and will last a lot longer. Thanks for the video.
I like this design as well. The only thing I might add is to make 4 holes in each level of boards such that the pins for that lever are captured under the next board above it. That way I don't have keep track of 8 loose pins when I'm not using all of the boards or when I'm storing the ramp as an assembled unit. The rigidity of the unit at each level would be increased with the extra pins in place too.
Don, Thank you for the great idea. I too had bought the Trailer-Aid, and found out only when I had a flat that it wasn't high enough. I was ready to build your ramp, when I realize if I put a single 2x6 underneath the Trailer-Aid it would work perfectly (since I already owned the Trailer-Aid). All I had to do was buy 3 1/2"x2-1/2" galv. bolts which go through the board and into the Trailer-Aid's 3 holes in the center. I also removed the 4 bolts under the Trailer-Aid and put them on the 4 corners of the 2x6. Works like a charm, and I'm delighted I came across your great suggestions. Perhaps this will help others who bought the Trailer-Aid and have the same issue.
Great idea! I was thinking of the plastic one you can buy. Like you after seeing that sometimes it doesn't provide enough lift. Your idea makes sense. I am going to make one and hope I don't have to use it. I will rely on my Samsung Galaxy S8 phone and my road service insurance first.
I would love to see a chalking block added after backing on or pulling forward just to keep it in place rather than trust the rv not slipping forward off the ramp. Just saying.

Great video and I love the fact it can come apart making a "ramp" easier to store in a camper! I will use this....thanks

made one this morning under $10 ...Thanks
Don, thanks for a very clever, but simple idea. I will be making them for my Class A. Thanks again!!!!
Thanks for the video, I made 1 today to do my wheel bearings.
Great idea. I would just add that if you drill 4 holes in the side of each block to store your pins.

Good video Don, Short and sweet and to the point! I sat through about a hour and half of other tire change video's before I found yours, Thanks.
Could you share a picture of your trailer aide with the 2x6 please?

You are a genius
Awesome idea!
What a great idea. Thanks for the video
wow, very good idea! Good video!
Don Would Have Loved to see this in action and how it works with a chalk block for leveling. Great Idea though.
very nice.
Have you tried it to see if you could change a flat?
I've been doing this for years to change a tire. It works perfect. I have an enclosed car trailer.
Awesome
Good idea, but how to change a tire with that, you still nead a jack, right?Wheel is block on platforn, how to change a wheel???
changing wheel for tandem trailer/rv, one wheel is elevated off the ground one is on the ramp
I would love to see a chalking block added after backing on or pulling forward just to keep it in place rather than trust the rv not slipping forward off the ramp. Just saying.
ty great idea
JOHNNY EXPLORES a xxz
Stainless screws instead of nails.
How can you change a tyre with that when it is standing on that block
This is for a tandem axle set up. The good tire is driven upon to the ramp thus suspending the flat tire in the air. Will not work for a single axle!
ONLY FOR TANDEM AXLE TRAILERS
man you just kill trailer aid!!
The biggest problem with this is weight.
USE SPRUCE or cedar, its lighter, most of us gave all this wood already for leveling.now he's organized it amazingly
People do you know how to spell C H O C K ?
