Once I have a few hundred grand from a insurance settlement after a bad accident that has left my right femur shattered this is the type of business I’m starting. You’ve inspired me to do the same thing, work with fungus and be a modern day farmer. This is the way, I appreciate all of your videos that will definitely help me along the way. I’m taking mental notes repeatedly.
For real, I dabbled in growing mushrooms 13 years ago and I'm back now. I dreamed for years what I wanted my mushroom farm to look like then this dude built it so no I have to do it. I don't have a settlement just a bad back from living like a rock star while being a measly construction worker so I will have to start small and grow but I'm OK with that. Good luck to you on your venture.
That b-roll was a nice touch! Nice to see other team members in-front of camera, not as much rich in information as Mike, yet still highly enjoyable. They will get there :)
I would be stressed out with the rotating parts and the long hair. I also have long hair and always wear a hairnet when working with spinning/rotating equipment. It just takes one bad day. Best regards from austria
To have hair pulled into something it has to be of a length comparable to the rotating wheel. There is some kinda equation for it. Anyways the hair can’t get “sucked” into the machine at this size the rotation is to large. If he was closer to the shaft maybe I would be more concerned but safety first anyways I agree better safe than sorry
Can we have a video on how you maintain and regulate the CO2, humidity, lighting in the grow tent? Looking forward to learn more! Kudos on making beautiful mushrooms tho!
Yes. Also.. to speed and simplify the hole clogs, Instead of that pair of scissors, one could measure the space and distance of holes, and then put thin nails into a plank of wood (with the hole spacing per nail to match the water holes) to make that a 1step process easier, no?
8:10 solution will be making a bigger holes where the water comes the lest. Just try to increase a couple of holes, or the oposite, close a little bit with tape the holes that are giving more water. You could ajust this in a couple of hours so it would be a big inversión to relax when mixing and also be able to mix it good from the beginning.
Thank you! It looks like the loading frame was made to go on the scale and 'tared' out, then filled and weighed without moving. Would that save time over the course of a batch? I've learned so much from you folks!
I saw these amazing mushrooms yesterday🙏 I live in the pine barrens of NJ. Its like mushroom heaven certain times of year. Every full moon i watch these big white mushrooms sprout out the grass overnight. Yesterday I saw these orange and white mushrooms. I'm not educated on the species but they're the kind that usually grow off the side of trees with that wavy pattern. I've seen this mushroom before, they're usually white or tan. These were orange, like highlighter orange. I assume cause they were so fresh, or were in the sun or shade? Idk, I just known they were gorgeous, and they made my day.
@@dertythegrower youve never drove through New Jersey😂 You say that thinking about northern new jersey. You know how many farms jersey has😂 Its why its called " the garden state. @@aerax9859 thanks buddy🙏 I wouldn't even risk eating any wild mushroom outside of a survival situation. Unless its an easily identifiable species, with no mimics. Chicken of the woods might be an example of easily identifiable with no mimics🤔 but still, you get what I'm saying lol. Cheers🙏
I think my method is easier: I just got a small square trash bin and cut the bottom off, then i put the remaining sleeve in the bag and fill it like that
When you mentioned the shaking of the bags for innoculation, 4 hour after finished sterilizing, wouldn't the bags still be too hot too inoculate at this point? It'd be nice to get that cleared up.

What is the difference in yield or quality with soy that yall are going for? I only use wheat bran and have thought about going to soy but it would be more expensive.
Wheat bran??? Have you tried instead chicken pellet food? I'm a noob, but had good results with 1 to 5 feed to wood pellets. The feed my be considerably cheaper than bran? Just look what is all in the feed, yummm
If your doing 900 scoops per day you need the table much lower! This could cause you physical issues over time especially because your not doing both arms symetrically. It would definitely be worthwhile.
Using a circuit breaker for start / stop functionality is not only bad for the breaker but against code too. I hate to be a dick but the reason is that wearing out the breaker could cause it to fail and hurt somebody.
Oh nooo, ya'll play league? 😂 I have to disagree about other mushroom growers not dialing in their stages. We spend a lot of time doing the same thing over and over, and usually expecting results from it because there's so much time being invested into the future. Doing certain things in optimal order, time, and precision are heavy parts of mushroom growing if you take it seriously, and for businesses they have to.
New World has mushroom harvesting as a main crafting item (new world is the first new MMORPG by Amazon Studio for gaming).. also, the number 1 crafting item is hemp and you harvest it wild. Pretty amazing its in video games now to produce into fiber for armor, ha.

One that is popular lately for growing in tents is called Pulse Grow Sensors, well worth the investment.
Why? Buy a microcontroller like everyone else does.
Great job today walking us through the process.
I’d love to see the step by step process on how you guys prep and bag your grain for spawn. These videos have been so helpful this far. Thank you!
you could drill the holes out bigger on the right or plug a few on the left to get a more even moisture across the mixer.
Dynamic duo feat. Dime-'bagging' Darrell 👍🍄
Tape off a few of those first water holes in your mixer, maybe every other one. it will push to the right for an even mix.
Yes.
Also.. to speed and simplify the hole clogs, Instead of that pair of scissors, one could measure the space and distance of holes, and then put thin nails into a plank of wood (with the hole spacing per nail to match the water holes) to make that a 1step process easier, no?
Lol ok.
actually the diameter of the holes should be increasing from left to right so the pressure would have been regulated by the end
You can close couple of holes at the right side to balance out the left side

Any way to keep the area a little cleaner. Everything down to the movements. No corner cutting at this farm.

If you use a Y adapter and feed the water into both sides of the water bar it’ll even out the pressure in the bar and give you more even hydration.
I don't think that chinese built machinery can do that.
