One of my close friends was in this gang. She died at 21 years old, leaving her 1 year old daughter behind. The baby daddy was locked up for murder. Not too much later, her big homie was ran up on, murdered, and her 3 babies were just left in the house. This is not a glamorous life.
I'm Sorry to hear that
Wow
No it ain’t. Death Row Records was run by Mob Piru and Crooked Police in Compton.
And she was a close friend of yours??
Wow smh
I broke my neck working seven days a week to keep my children out of those environments. They used to get upset with me because I was hardly home spending time with them. As adults now and able to see real life for themselves and hear the horror stories of other people's lives growing up, they are all thankful at the quality of life I worked to provide them while growing up.
Real talk that's wat I say. Kids need to be more appreciative

Black people were systematically placed in these places with no hope to be away from white society and die off
They really believe in this and there is nobody that can change what they think is the life. These are the people you should never worry about or feel sorry for. It may sound harsh, but all you need to do is talk to one of them. You can offer them 1 Mil to leave and they wouldn't.

That hood looks pretty well maintained. All the grass is mowed, hedges cut nice and straight, flowers, no trash anywhere. And the houses don't look so bad either.
That's why it's so dangerous because the hoods don't always look like hoods
Funfact: Compton used to be all White with a large Mormon population

Good to see that you are able to still smile thru all the loss and sadness. Stay fly Homegirl!
Hopefully, yall can get some good shit poppin' for the younger generations in your section. No need for every generation to keep re-living all the death and trauma there is so much work to be done! I waited until I was in my 30s and well established making good income before I had my son. He grew up in an upper middle class neighborhood with his own room and bathroom. He is grown now but he has never appreciated what I did for him. I grew up poor in the hood and was raised by my grandmother. I always said if I ever have a child I what to make sure I raise him or her in a good environment where they never have to worry about getting shot or killed simply walking home. I use to hear other kids tell my son when he was growing up that, "I wish your father was my daddy". I sacrificed promotions and advanced positions to keep from uprooting my son from his home and moving to a different state. In the end he grew up to be selfless and think ecerything is all about him. It is funny how so many kids dream of having a great father and home while others like my son are self centered and think the world revolves around them. I am retired now but it breaks my heart to watch the news everyday and hear how many young kids have loss their lives in the streets due to bad parenting that allow the streets to raise their children.
This is exactly why I stay inside. Bonded in trauma with no self preservation for the black race in LA.

I grew up in Miami. As soon as the sun set the bullets started flying, people were dying, then came the sounds of sirens. Jackson Memorial wasn't that far.
It's crazy they look like the coolest and most thorough people and yet they're so vicious
Always good from Bompton to Inglewood, Bz and Pz 👌🏾
Not gone lie “Lady” ah whole vibe tho, she fly and fine asf in my eyes😍, plus she talk like she definitely on top of her shit;nothing but respect, I see you ma’ ✊🏾
I didnt grow up in the hood or the projects. But I love hood and ghetto ratchet places. They style so different and unique and sum shit be too funny. I like the difference in society. We all can't be the same.
You only love it because you weren’t forcibly raised in it.
One day you wake up as ask yourself why did I waste my time being a follower instead of a leader. What do i have to show for myself other than the battle scars of life in the streets and now watching my kids go down that same path of destruction. This is such a vicious cycle with no end in sight. Come on people, we are better than this.
Product of their environment
@@Mr-my8kx chill with tha disrespect! U shouldn’t be on this video if u feel that bad. Again…product of their environment. Serena and Venus had their FATHER
And sometimes u wake up and realize you are a bigger influence than u ever could’ve been to the youth cause you been through it and survived and ya story is powerful enough to bring two tribes together
Now those kids don't have the mother or the father. Damn shame
@@shoncarter5362 naw bra lady is very much still alive. she was reposting everybody dat wished ha a happy bday on ha ig
Shot out to mob for so many legendary figures ...
As I got older
If I’m in a place where i have to constantly look over my shoulder and be aware then I shouldn’t be in that place this a message to the youth yes always be on point but if you don’t need to be somewhere don’t go
I'd never live in a neighborhood again where shootings be frequently occuring. I lived in one in L.A. where, while I walked to the store one night with one of my sisters, wearing a big blue coat, a car approached us and someone pointed a gun at me!!! My sister that asked me to walk with her that night passed away back in October 2009. Other terrible things happened in my old neighborhood as well. Beatings, our house was shot at back in August 1994. A female friend of ours was hit, but survived a bullet also hit a guy in the groin area. It grazed my youngest sister, and her other friend. My brother got very drunk that same night! So cold! Without question, I wish we should've moved to Vegas, or Texas! Bad things may happen there too, but where we could've moved, rent would be cheaper.
I LOVE THIS SOUTH CENTRAL AND COMPTON CONTENT!! KEEP IT UP BRO!!

The irony of him worrying about red meat and too much cheese. 🙄
I like to see the family-community feel. I live in the UK and I don't know the name of a neighbour for miles.

Kenan from 'Kenan and Kel', brushing his hair @8:31. 😆 😆 😆
Y'all can say whatever you want. Compton was and always will be like paradise to me.I had homies from Piru, Blood, Crip, Asian, but also had enemies. Back in the late 90`s mid 2000's were the most dangerous times of my life in Compton. I don't regret anything and will always be proud to represent The Hub City. But I'm also grateful to be alive after all those moments I was ducking bullets, getting jumped shot at. MANNNNNNN. Those were the days
Crazy how you're brain can have you cornered. I came up in this type of environment but I always wanted better and I knew I had to get out. To each they're own . hopefully one day it'll change💯
This the most stupidest shit l have seen all week! I’m from the hood and l busted my ass to get out of there. Nothing there but death, ignorance and self-hatred.
