      Hi, I think I have watched every one of your videos. Anyways, I am also test driving Gemini with the trial. I used my personal gmail to sign up, as I was not able to use the school one. This is probably an obvious question but if all my stuff is on the education workplace, is there a way to use it with my other gmail account?

    How to get rid of Gemini putting all those asterisk 😞 in your docs

  • @RT-hh3vl
    @RT-hh3vl 9 месяцев назад +4

    amazing but also the antithesis of skills development, in other words, students will do less reading, they will probably commit plagiarism as they probably won't cite Gemini, they will not be critically analysing anything but relying on Gemini's summaries etc etc these are the issues that students and markers and educators will need to deal with

    • @BotakTrees
      @BotakTrees 9 месяцев назад +3

      One way to get around this may be to ask students to compare the summaries done by 3 different A.I systems, e.g. Gemini, ChatGpt and Perplexity.
      Get the students to think about:
      Which summary is better?
      What are their relative strengths?
      Can you improve on what the A.I tools have done?
      Etc.
      Hope this is useful!!

    • @firedagger168
      @firedagger168 9 месяцев назад

      @@BotakTrees Not that simple. There are AI apps that check for plagiarism already out there and I am sure many teachers have them already. The AI summary is not that great either (as of now). Skip out a lot of points. Remember Cliff's Notes? Some AI apps' summaries are worse. AI works for both sides!

    • @readingreddit8499
      @readingreddit8499 9 месяцев назад +4

      @firedagger168 You've missed the point. The suggestion was to engage students in critical thinking.

    Sure people want something like this is their Native Linux. I have only used Linux for the last 15 or so and don't run emulation programs like wine.
    Some of this may not have been self explanatory but most is.
    What i don't like is you have casual and former but no other ways to speak that is similar to what your peers such as group or friends expect.
    The AI actually said there would be food but maybe i am having a party as suggested but want people to bring there own food instead. Or it's a party without food.
    What Gemini writes is too generic and isn't how any person i know is going to write.
    The part with a summary kind of sucks when i may summarize other aspects i find more important. This seems to be a large chunk to be opinion of what you consider it about. This often goes outside of the writers summary.
    Think about all the ways people summarize a movie all different. Or even a book. Because we want to write a summary about what it's about to us.
    Writes things in a bland way. Not like average joes speak.
    We all have our local way we speak. Metaphors / analogies we all use when talking.
    Let's say I don't want casual or former. I want them to speak like my bae crowd friends.
    The problem is the AI takes the you out of the language. Part of the language that is basically you.
    We all speak a little different and draw importance to other things.
    This is why this is generic and bland.
    Also missing in language is the differences between areas of States including how people speak in the South vs Northern States.
    For example. Central Illinois people speak way different than people in southern Illinois with all the metaphors, analogies and slang.
    Let's not forget people from Texas speak different than someone from Alabama or Illinois.
    Rural and small village people speak way different than city people.
    The ai also won't say something like you want to say something or mean something.
    Just won't write it to mean something like you mean it.

  • @thebudman1980
    @thebudman1980 7 месяцев назад

    Ai when actually using voice can't adapt in real time as a person speaks or interupts them mid speach to say something such as i have to correct you. Or do that to a person in the middle of speech because your speach gets translated to test first then sent. Also the AI can only use words but can't do other social sounds a cues.
    The AI can't make noises outside of words that can be written. Although they can add easter egg snippets of other sounds like clearing the throat before saying something sometimes. They absolutely can't try to sound like an animal or make sound effects a human can do with their mouth.
    Some things still have the meaning of language that we can only say that isn't words sometimes. Maybe it's a cue for example. We mean something by it but it's not a word and can't be written. Or if it can be written. The Ai can only say a writen form that doesn't sound like a man would say this or make that noise.
    So the ai can't explain rhe specific kind of sound or screach that you heard.

    You didn't have it find something in documents that wasn't in the title. A dumb search can do all of that.
    What you looked for was in the filename i mean.
    My files are going to genetic names often and most of this is self explanatory.
    However using the extensions for that is a risk because your chats are monitored right now. So Google employees know everything you wouldn't want them to know that ende up in the chat so i leave mine disabled. A dumb search can also find stuff in files but may not write a summary or essay about them. But will still find the parts and be able to bring it to your attention to look at.
