After the initial oddness, I completely forgot Sigourney Weaver and got on board following the moody teenager Kiri without realising it. What a movie.
I didn't notice the initial oddness. Just worked for me.
I was disgusted calling the kid monkey boy and making blue peps like Native Americans. I want a refund 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

I just saw the movie yesterday and didn't want to know about the cast and realized just now that kiri was her... and I'm amazed unbelievable!
Acting was good, but I was never able to get over the fact that it sounded like an elderly woman trying to sound like a teenager. I didn’t even know she was playing the role when I went to watch the movie, but I noticed right away. I couldn’t put aside her voice and immerse myself fully into the character.
I love how the character is uniquely played by a person who is 73 years old as a 14 years old teenager. It's very rare to see a character like that in movie history!
Only in avatar is this kind of acting shapeshifting possible. Love how Cameron gives such latitude to his actors.
@@Startupsandsushi Even the extreme CGI makes me think this is acting in its purest form. If you're surrounded by "practical effects" or a ready-made environment, acting around it convincingly is much easier. Look at Sigourney underwater at 0:22, they had to act in THAT kind of environment. THAT'S talent.

This character felt like the definition of An Old Soul. I loved Signourney's Performance.

when i saw the film i had no idea she was playing kiri. I thought whoever played kiri played into grace so well, only to find out they were the same person. what a brilliant idea!

I was absolutely shocked when I found out that Sigourney was playing Kiri.... just, absolutely unfathomable acting. I feel like when are entering this era where so many difficulties are becoming less of a difficulty that you can achieve wonders no matter of your background or age.

Gotta admit Kiri is my favorite character now. Sigourney Weaver is a true legend portraying this kid.
I hope we're going to get a clip like this for all characters. I love this and I would love to see a similar spotlight on Zoe Saldana. I've watched the movie several times and each time I think: "I'm not gonna cry this time when Neteyam dies. I'm not gonna cry" but when Neytiri breaks, I weep.

Since Avatar I loved this world. Its characters, nature, its plants, animals. It feels so much like a world so alive and that everything is part of an exquisite whole. I just want to say thank you to movie magic.

In one movie, Kiri became my favorite character from "Avatar". It is a very authentic character, and wonderfully interpreted by this legend of cinema that is Sigourney Weaver. Her performance was amazing, you'd think it was a 14 year old girl playing her. I can't wait to see her character grow in the sequel.
so glad they released this. kiri is my favourite new character and i absolutely loved how she has the same kinda wittiness as her mother. its crazy because i remember watching it thinking this is just a younger grace and it hits me because i remebered it was the same actor. nothing bugs me more in movies and shows when theres a kid and parents and you just know that they arent their real parents and its obvious. i think this is the first movie or show where i believed this was someones daughter because its the same person playing her. obsolutely loved this movie.

I loved Kiri so much that when I look to wiki to see who was the actress behind her.........................blow my mind that was Sigourney Weaver, I was like.......wait WHAT? this had to be wrong.....nope, was Mrs Ellen Ripley herself, seriously how in the blue na'vi she did this is beyond me, motion capture or not, fantastic work all around.

I saw avatar 2 the fourth time today and really honest i cant get used to sigourneys voice with kiri in some parts. But wow i like kiri so much in the movie. Amazing character. She is defently my favorite from the kids. Tuk comes close she is so cute🥰

I've seen the movie 3 times, and she blows me away every time. Kiri is a family favorite, especially my wife, who has epilepsy.

We need a full video version of the cast acting their character with motion capture as Special Featuratte. It would be very very interesting to watch how skilled they are performing their character which like Sigourney Weaver's, is having 50 plus years age gap between her and the character she played as. I love Kiri's character. And I think that in the next few movies a romantic relationship with Spider will develop, since Cameron has left several clues in their interactions. Also something tells me that both helped end the war between Navis and humans. the union of both worlds. In a recent interview I read that Weaber was asked if she fell in love and she couldn't answer since it would work as a spoiler.
James and Sigourney both do some of their absolute best work when they team up. What they've done with Avatar 2 in particular is revolutionary. Performers can play any age now. THINK ABOUT THAT!

Ms Weaver here in this, added to both versions of Ripley, and her performance in Galaxy Quest, you can see she is still a kid inside, and capable of much more yet. If like many actors she never retires, we will be graced by her presence on screen for decades to come.
Seeing her recent promotional photoshoots, she's redefining the definitons of beauty in the way legends like Dames Mirren & Rigg, Fonda and Welch have.
Love her so much, she's such a talent and brought so many to the science fiction genre!

I'm a huge fan of James Cameron and Sigourney(since Aliens is like my childhood horror alien film favourite), but when they cast her as a teen, I was extremely skeptical but surprisingly it worked out well. As a fan of Sigourney, I'm glad she's still one of the main cast for the Avatar franchise.
This is the woman who played Ellen Ripley. Within seconds, I forgot that I was watching Sigourney Weaver, and completely fell in love with this eccentric 14 year old. This is not Sigourney Weaver playing someone. She becomes Kiri. It's amazing.

The voice was awkward at first but i eventually forgot that awkwardness and it just kinda fit. Kiri is an unusual child, she might litetally be the reincarnation of Grace implanted by Aywa so it isnt that weird to think their voice would be the same
