James wrote this after him and Cliff watched the ten commandments at a friends house. In the scene where the fog came in and killed the first borns, Cliff said something about death creeping in. James told told him that was fucking poetry and to write it down.

I saw them in 89 on the ...Justice tour. When they did the breakdown they hung it out extra long so James could get everyone chanting “Die, Die, Die...” I was about 3 rows back center stage. Probably the greatest live concert moment in my history. Did I say they sounded fanfuckingtastic? They did. It was unreal actually. My neck sounds like a socket wrench now from all the head banging I did in my Metallica phase. lol

If you really want to know how awesome Metallica is, look up S&M. It's a live show they performed with the San Francisco Philharmonic in 1999. There is a song they performed for the first time ever, "No Leaf Clover" and it charted. Also read the back story, this wasn't Metallica's idea, it was the composer for the Philharmonic. He likened Metallica's music and lyric structure to Beethoven. This combination of genres had been done before, but this one set the standard for all of them.

Ride the Lightening is IMO the apex thrash album of all time , never mind the eighties . You should of started at the beginning instead of , as your t-shirt suggests , begin at Metallica 5 . The title track to this album demonstrates the pinnacle of the Metallicats playing . If you want double bass drums they are there , if you want the crunchiest riffs in history , they are there , if you want a guitar solo that exudes youth ( rumoured to be written by Mustaine ) it’s there and best of all , if you want bass that reaches into your chest and crushes your heart , it’s there ....ps , find Metallica -rebel of Babylon if you want more religious interpretations from the Cats .......

A classic here. There's always debate about which album is better: Ride The Lightning or Master Of Puppets. Myself, I prefer Lightning. Puppets, to me, is just a fine-tuning of Lightning. There are a couple tracks I like more on Puppets, but overall, Lightning just has a little more rawness, which I like. I disagree with Kill'em All having LESS energy, though. I think Kill'em all has just as much energy, just more of a less controlled, almost PUNK vibe to it. Lightning, to me, has the same energy, it's just way more focused and the musicianship from Kill'em All and Lightning is exponential. But that's just one man's opinion. Nice to see you doing your thing T. I'm off work till who knows and planning on spending the next couple hours catching up a little, enjoying some cold beer and rocking out. Peace! Stay safe and healthy! T&T ROCKS!!!!
