Great gig log, as always. But that LED wall with ads is such a big mood killer!
Killed it my friends, glad we can work these shows together! Some of the best in the biz
This stage setup is beautiful!!! I love how compact y’all made it, but still managed to make it look super unique, and those dancers are so good with the lights behind them!! I love seeing them dancing on the stages at Moonrise
You have a special talent great light design amazing work
Please more videos like this. Love it!
Clean and smooth keep up your good work
Sick LED wall ;)
What do you guys use as a T bar on the truss to hang the movers from??
Amazing set up as usual!! 🤙🏽
Typically 1m f31 and dual cheeseboros
What subwoofers are you using
What do you think of the IG3Ts? How do they compare to the CDDs?
What did you think of the DB Sub 18H's? I used 4 of them at an event recently and was pretty impressed!
I was very unimpressed. They're, at best, only a 50hz box. Anything beneath 50hz is literally non-existent. This sucks big time for EDM, especially the bass music that was played at this event, as most of the bass content was just completely missing. They are, however, impressively loud above 60hz or so, and also very responsive as they're "semi-horn loaded". I wouldn't recommend them for any kind of EDM, as you're missing out on half of the bass experience that EDM provides. The worst part is that its advertised as having a -10dB point of 28hz. What a pile of crap! I can't believe that they lie that blatantly about the spec. It might be the biggest lie of a spec that I've ever seen advertised for a pro audio speaker. Because of this, IMO they're pretty much only good for lighter styles of rock that have 0 sub-bass content.
Alex Berry thanks so much for that feedback! i used them for a outdoor rock concert and was thinking of taking them to a EDM style event I have coming up, i will be reconsidering. I appreciate your insight!
nice setup, above the people there is a truss where the front is, next time you will hang 4 moving heads on the truss.and that looks better
we would have used that, but the venue told us that the production company who installed that truss doesn't let anyone use it. it turned out to be more complex than that, but we couldn't use it anyway
My buddy Dj’s there all the time.
Great video! Why’d FoH move on night 2?
The venue coordinator wanted to set up the partitions to make it feel more packed when they were expecting a smaller attendance
that pa system sound good , was it as impressive in person, and how longs it take to put a show this big together ?
I was pretty happy with the sound I was able to get out of the system. If the system had just been run stock though, like DJ mixer direct into the speakers, I definitely wouldn't have liked it very much. The subs also aren't very good, they're impressively loud considering their size, but only for 60hz and above. You can hear how there's almost 0 camera mic distortion or bass during the bass music/dubstep, and that's because those subs pretty much only able to reproduce the kick drum bass in that music, and none of the sub bass sinewave content.
As for how long it takes to put together, if you mean purely in terms of setting up the equipment, we can set this kind of thing up in a couple hours with 3 guys.
@@alexberry3833 Hello Alex,
pretty happy to see that you've experienced this speakser (IG3T) in person, how would you rate them precisely? Our company is doing a big sellout of our old or now sorted out gear. Bcs of corona we use the time to renew our gear and update our concepts which brings me to ask you for your oppinion. For our big events we have our KSL system but now we are more and more booked for other events in the region of 500-1500 people. Mostly school dances or small EDM "Festivals" in what you call in America "Gyms" with sizes of 15mx30m to 30mx45m, because you've alot of experience in this type of events i wanted you to aks how you would build our new sound rig for events in this category.
1 Option: Starting out with the Line array option, its extremly good scaleable (200-1500ppl.), but expensive and not as suited for smaller events than good horn systems or point sources. Here the components would be as a start 3 HDL 6-A per side. I dont know if this is enough. Cabs. Definitly not the best solution.
2. Option: Your CDD 15 Live's. But they arent scaleable that good. I dont know how it would be possible to upgrade to rock a 1500ppl. event. (Maybe there is a way? Cluster? Idk...) Also at bigger things you could use them as infills and do a Horn or Line Array config for longthrow...
3. Option: The IG3T. But here is the limiting factor two per side. I dont know how much they throw out in this configuration? How is your opinion? Are two per side louder than the CDD15's?
4. Option: Maybe an advise from you... A good point source or smth like that...
Sorry for my english, hope you are able to understand most of it tho,
Greetings from Germany
Is this in Baltimore? It looks like it and I never knew we had this stuff here😅
yep! at powerplant live
I just did a similar setup in a venue in Baltimore as well
Where at?
All the ads in the background lol
I know right
Shoot in 1080p not 1080i. If you shoot in 1080i you need to shoot at 1080i 60. It will get rid of those weird lines when you move the camera around.
I'm not shooting in 1080i, I'm shooting 1080p at 23.976fps with a Canon 60D. I don't even think that camera can shoot interlaced footage. I'm also exporting progressive frames, not interlaced. Either way, whatever weird lines you're seeing are not baked into the footage, it's definitely something weird going on with your setup.
I was part of moonrise
need some dirty dnb playin on that stage my g
How's the db technologies PA? I haven't heard the subs. Highs are nice though
Tops are great, subs are decent for their price but they don’t hit low. I’m looking to get some new subs in the future
@@crossingthelineentertainme9640 DVA ks10 is a great sub
Tech Know I agree. I think dbs single subs start to get way overpriced. I may go the Martin way like Doug or I’m looking at single 18 bassboss subs
@@crossingthelineentertainme9640 bassboss subs are mad expensive. You can get a ks10 brand new for $2499. IMO db tech's stuff has great prices
IMO it was average, as per my expectations. Tops are fine, but they do have some kinda big issues. In terms of tonality, out of the box they have exaggerated low mids (400hz area from plastic box resonance) and can be pretty harsh with HF breakup distortion, but can also sound pretty nice with tuning. Bigger issues include the HF dispersion being very directional, like as you move halfway towards being outside of the advertised coverage pattern you're already outside of the coverage of the HF. They're rated to be 110 degrees wide, but above like 6-8kHz they seem like they're only 40-60 degrees wide. Very reminiscent of Danley SM80 HF coverage. The other biggest downside is that it takes two IG3T tops, for a total of 4 10" LF drivers and 2 3" HF drivers, to equal 1 CDD Live 15 in SPL.
The subs, on the other hand, are worse. The Sub 18H is, at best, only a 50hz box. Pretty much anything beneath 50hz is literally non-existent. You can hear this in the video during soundcheck. They are, however, impressively loud above 60hz or so, and also very responsive as they're "semi-horn loaded". I wouldn't recommend them for really any kind of EDM though, as you're missing out on half of the bass experience that EDM provides. The worst part is that the Sub 18H is advertised as having a -10dB point of 28hz! What a pile of crap! This alone makes me extremely skeptical of all dB Technologies advertised specs.
Why was that opening DJ playing the heaviest fucking music he could find when there was like 10 people on the dance floor?
If I recall correctly the promoter was confused and thought he was a deep house dj when he booked him
@@dougberry4674 Aw that sucks, tbh the DJ should've known better anyway haha, must be new to the game if he thinks he can get away with riddim and dub that early in the night
@@mellings30minecraft I enjoyed it lol, but I like that style so I'm biased.
How do you lie the IG#t's?
They're ok, 2 stacked like you see in the video is about the same SPL as CDD Live 15, but they're super narrow in the HF. About 40-60 degrees wide vs the advertised 110.
Alex Berry do they throw further? I am actually considering the cdd 15’a vs the ig3t’s.. any feedback is appreciated.
@@SamJahshan They don't throw further. This is a bad way to describe it, but CDD 15s are the only speaker we've ever had where in some situations we feel they throw too much in fact. Especially when flown, the volume at a distance is so similar to the volume up front, that we sometimes actually want it louder up front than it is, and quieter far away than it is.
Plus, when we consider cost, CDD Live 15s are a no brainer, and why we chose them and haven't changed. If something better comes along, also factoring in price, we'll be the first to switch!
Doug Berry thank you very much. Going to pick up a pair of cdd15’s with subs to start. Appreciate your help as I am looking to upgrade our current base system.
discord gangggggg
Ayyy!
Ayyy
Up slm
Haha first
They played ads for other acts during the set 😂
Yeah seeing that was a first for me lol
the lights is set up too low and covering the big screen. it should be set up higher and the bass should be on the floor not on the stage. practice and enjoy!
yep that's correct
never separate subs, put it in the center
Yep
That aint Music sounds like dropping junk down a elivator shaft. Carl Cox, DJ.Sasha etc.
You are very small build the stage
i have no idea what you're trying to say
Light show nice but the music trash
