Why do people still go on about low light performance? As you said, if you light the scene properly, it’s fine. If you’re doing run and gun, nobody expects perfect footage. Look back at documentary footage that won Oscars. It’s not perfectly lit. There is a ton of noise. It’s shaky, there’s flaws, but the story wins through. I’d rather watch a good story with bad noise than a crappy story that’s perfectly clean. Honestly, people need to stop worrying about these things. They’re focusing on the wrong things. It’s a waste of energy.
One of a show I like was shot with all the grains and noises everywhere (Daredevil) and it does not really bother me. Watched the entire show for 3 times already haha. You are absolutely right. but there are people out there being so obsessed about image quality but ultimately they want to make sure they get the absolute best value for what they pay for and I get it.
I didn't say, those were number 1 priority. The inside is always most important. But cameras are a super expensive purchase. And I just want people to make a good decision.
@@KenseiAkatsu I don't know if you are replying to the other guy or me Akatsusan but I agreed with you that those are not no.1 priority and it is the end results and what the creator wants to convey + the way they deliver it matter more..... The show Daredevil i like is very dark superhero show and it has to be dark and dirty to show the dirty side of the city the hero is trying to protect that's perhaps why I don't mind the grain and noise which helps elevate the emotion . All these are not accomplished by the camera but the person behind it. If anything, I shoot on APSC A6700 camera and I find this to be more than enough for my needs. It is great....practical in 99% of situation with the right lenses and I never have a client coming to me saying "your work is bad...pls shoot on a FF camera". To me using an APSC to do the job well without having to spend more is the win! like what the Japanese said 海老で鯛を釣る....
I agree, the focus is on the totally wrong things and most focuses on these things forget many other arrangements involved. Heck Im watching 2024 movies on netflix and other platforms that clearly made the cut and they not only have noise, but a bit of color cast and weird roll off but we are film people, we see these things. The average consumer can care less. THE STORY outweighs that little stuff. People try to focus on being perfect rather than understanding you don't have to be clean and sterile in every single piece you make. Hell there's a scene on harry potter I spotted where you can clearly see the following mask as Malfoy's sister walks in the woods. It's almost got some color noise throughout the movie. But who cares, the story was there to overcome that instead
Decided to bought fx30 after watching your videos about it and i love the camera. These 3 downside about it are covered with the benefit that fx30 gave me
Good point: in the end, it’s not about the gear; it’s the person behind the gear - that said, this is pretty much a super 35 mm frame size which many of my fav films were shot with
I have been waiting for the right time to purchase an FX30... and this video has made me feel rather insecure about a purchase I have not gone through yet! My plans for a camera that can capture the night city as my eyes see it might have been foiled, but it only gives me a chance to further research about cameras with good low-light performance. Can't dive into FX3 territory, so it'd seem I'll have to wait longer to fullfill my recent camera cravings.
I did about 50-60 hours of video this summer. At night and during the day. I bought a pair of FX30s. The camera ran for hours in 40 degree weather, autofocus is next level. As far as lowlight...I shot at night only using street lamps and window lighting...the FX30 worked great. I could have bought the FX3 but instead went with a pair of FX30 units. No interest in going FX3 anytime soon. FX30 is a great camera.
@@seancloutier2577Hi I have same concert about shooting at night, with not lights, just moonlight, far from the city, not car lights not houses lights, just moonlight, but I can't get the FX3 now
I have been learning my FX3 for the past few weeks and the low light capability is insane. I also use it for photos so being able to shoot H+ during performances is a great feature, I do wish it was 26MP like the FX30 though. Great Video!
Very good video sir, i wanted to get an FX3 but realized I could get a ZV-E1 and an FX30 used for the same price, which can make up for the short comings of the other
still contemplating on getting the FX30, in my country they give out discount to students, and can get this cam for 1190usd. i already have the a7iv but my only full frame lens is a 85mm f1.8 other are all APSC, 16,50,18-135 since i upgraded from a6300. planning to use this either as a main cam /gimbal and the a7iv as B-cam. should i pull the trigger?
I bet any money you're from a Samari family...Akatsu...sounds like a sword master...you just got a new sub my friend, definately like your vibes, as a Jamacian we love real vibes, and yes the FX30 is my next buy, Im a canon person but with the fan , and long video time , Im definately getting it, but will wait until I can afford a great lens , before getting the camera, ....Konnichiwa my friend 🦁🦁🦁
Thanks bro for video, about the noise ! 120 fps do we need this frame rates for shooting ( in slow motion in resturant , cafe or real state) ? What you think ?
People confuse low light with "brighter than what your eyes see" . It's fine if you use fast primes. 1.4 or 1.8, but I have also used 2.8 even f4 in low light to capture "what I see". Night shots are surprisingly bright. On the other hand the 2500 is not exactly for low light, its for high key. Measure for 800, if you switch to 2500 you are going to get a hight key version of the scene and viceversa
Hi Kensei, With Roughly 3000 euros of Budget which Camera+ Lens would you buy as a new videographer (I'm actually a new editor who will also make videos) Context : I have practiced shooting/editing on a EOS M50 ii for a while - I never use the EVF and I wish it wasn't there. I only shoot videos. I will give back this camera to my ex soon so the camera I will buy will be the only one for a little while, no B-cam yet. I love how the fx30 feels and looks but if you would buy your first camera with that budget, would it be it ? (I can find it for 1700 euros in France, the rest of the budget in rigs and one lens maybe. Thank you !
fx30 user here! about to watch the video, but i'm guessing you're gonna talk about the low light performance, the battery life, and maybe the photo functions? either that or the general noise. i even though it's got it's faults, i love this camera so much (i wanted to buy the fx3 which doesn't have those issues, but moneyyy)
I bought the A7CIi instead. With only 3 VF lenses 17, 35, 90 I covered 24, 50 and 135. So a second camera body can save money. So instead buying the A6700 or FX3 this is my recommendation.
90% of the people buying the F30 over the FX3 is obviously for the price difference and the others may already have a ton of APSC Lenses coming from smaller Sony cameras. On a side note when you showed the noise comparison with the A7IV here on RUclips in 4K I could not see much of a difference at all te tell you the truth. I am also thinking about getting one for the same reason, I have a A7IV and tired of the over heating and cannot afford at the moment the FX3 not to mention a mark II of either of these cameras is probably coming "soon" and prices will drop on both and maybe I can pick up an FX3 cheaper or even used cheaper..

Great video, have you tried using the vb99 for both the monitor and the camera? So youll get less weight. And if you have how long does it last.
