If you need help with books for your kid, the librarian at your local library would love to help you. When my oldest was a kid I was having the hardest time with books because he read at college level when he was in like 5th grade on, but finding books that didn’t bore him (due to the actual reading level being way below him) that were appropriate for him was so difficult. One day I asked the librarian and she spent the next few years literally looking for and adding books to the library for him to read. She was a freaking lifesaver!!
My son was the same and our librarian was incredibly helpful! Librarians are a wonderful resource.

Literally use aquaphor for everything over the last 8 years. Cuts? Aquaphor. Chapped lips? Dry skin? At home pedicure? Dry nose? Diaper rash? Eczema? Aquaphor. Always aquaphor.
Have you tried PawPaw ointment? I don't use Aquaphor at all anymore since I started using pawpaw ointment instead!
When you mentioned your kids age, I realized how long I have been following you for. I started watching you from, I think when you were getting married or right after you got married. (Had to get new account due to issues) I specifically remember my first video being this blue eyeshadow look & you were wearing a blue dress & I was like I need to keep following you. Just in case you don’t already know, be sure you are ONLY using distilled water in your nasal irrigation system! Using tap water is dangerous. Otherwise they are complete game changers, I live by my neti pot and my naviage irrigator
You can use tap water if it's boiled and cooled

Hate to break it to you but your nose isn’t sterile, so tap water in the nose should be just fine. Do you ever go swimming in lakes or pools?
@@charlotte7268 You’re nose might not be sterile, but it doesn’t carry brain eating amoeba like tap water can carry. It’s only dangerous if it gets shot up the nose, so that’s why people use distilled water.

I am with you in the long arms, long legs department and so many Amazon pants say "long length" and when I check them out, they have a 32" inseam, lol Or I have to buy XL tops and swim in them to get the length in the sleeves! I ordered the NodPod after the initial review. I genuinely can’t sleep without it now. I’ve always taken ages to drop off but now, it only takes minutes. It’s like a snuggly cocoon that blocks everything out. I sleep on my side so I put the excess over my ear for extra sensory deprivation. It’s been an absolute game changer for me😊
Same, I left mine at home when I went to my partners for the weekend, and I swear, my sleep was not as fulfilling, and I woke up like a zombie!
I worked for an allergy & asthma doctor for 10+ years. Neosporin is a big no. I use the aquafore on all my kids scraps n such. I also use it for the day after a fresh tattoo. Love your videos ❤
Is it still an issue if you've been using it for years with no reaction?
I am diabetic and have to be careful of any cuts or scratches. I put Neosporin on them immediately and they heal up right away I swear by it
@@alinasteadman4962that’s the thing about it, you can no issue with it for a long time. Then you can become sensitized to it and have a reaction. We mostly saw localized skin reactions to it.
Actually I'm allergic to Neosporin and aquaphor so what I put on my scrapes before I put the Band-Aid is just plain Vaseline after I wash it with soap and water. That helps to keep it moist so it won't dry out and it also helps with the heal faster
@@alinasteadman4962Yes, I developed an allergy after 35 years of no problems. It wouldn’t be such a big deal if the main ingredient isn’t also a main ingredient used in prescription eyedrops. You don’t want to risk not being able to use those drops if you need them, trust me.

If they loved The Ranger's Apprentice, I think they'd like the Brotherband Chronicles. Brotherband is a spin-off based on the Skandians.

Hi the brother band is a very good series to. Also there is a prequel series by Flanagan to and its before the rangers apprentice series.
The netipot/nasal rinses will seriously make a massive difference! Helps with allergies too. I use mine anytime I go out to a big event as well just to get anything in there out!

I LOVED the Ranger’s Apprentice series when I was younger. For girls, I also really enjoyed the Lioness series and when he’s a bit older, the Percy Jackson series.
I bought the nodpod based off of one of your recommendation videos and it’s been a game changer for me. I can’t sleep without it.
Nioxin was a god sent for my hair when it was affected from having Mirena for 2 years in my 20s. I was terrible. I lost so much hair and Nioxin saved me. Along with using Castro Oil before I washed my hair. Took a while but totally worth it. I bought that Diamond Cleaner because of you and I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IT. It works so freaking good!
I second the Nioxin line. I had complications following a liver transplant and lost most of my hair in the process. It was slow going but I could see definite progress. My one caveat with the shampoo/conditioner is to definitely test patch first if you have sensitive skin. It was fine on my scalp but I had to make sure it didn’t drip onto my face unless I wanted to spend the next hour or so with red, blotchy skin.

Speaking of Rogaine I heard from my Derm that if u have very sparse brows from over plucking in the 90s lol u can apply Rogaine to them w a qtip daily and they will rapidly grow in I may try it and report back

U can use Castor oil. It’s much cheaper and does the same thing. Just make sure it’s hexane free. I use Castor oil from The Goodbye Company.

I was obsessed with that weighted sleep mask and it helped me when I got in a bad bout of insomnia HOWEVER both my sister and I found that we were experiencing the exact same hair breakage from using it every night so just keep that in mind, especially with how tempting it can be to wrap it around your head so it moves with you when you sleep.
I wear a silk sleep bonnet to bed and my weighted silk sleep mask… the elastic strap sits on top of the bonnet and not on my hair… just a tip to help…
Edit to add: the mask even helps to hold the bonnet on if you toss and turn at night, so double duty win-win…

I am 30 as of this year........ And every time it's winter or I'm feeling really low and I just need to disappear for a few hours I re-read the Rangers Apprentice series, it's just so engaging, comforting and written in a way that makes it feel like you're right there in the action. Plus sometimes if you read a lot of adult fantasy the plots can get very dark and very grim and it can start to bring you down a little bit so it's nice -as you mentioned- to have something with swift usually positive resolutions to things :)

The Nod Pod has been unbelievably helpful for me as the days get longer. Sun is coming up at about 5 am where I am and that is just too early. (I typically get up around 6.) But I was unable to fall back to sleep until I got the Pod. Like you, I just put it over my forehead and drift right back to sleep AND I feel like I've really slept. Not just dozed, but actually slept!! It's awesome!!
The Rangers Apprentice series was my favorite! When my mom passed this was one of the top series I kept from her library.

Amari and the night brothers, me, my dad and the end of the rainbow, Nevermore are great middle grade books. Even the frostbite series are good for kids. I would recommend using the library to discover more books and save money because books can get expensive and children tend to grow out of them so fast.
Definitely want more book recs on RUclips! I read all the Tuesdays at the Castle books when you recommended those and it was so cute! So yeah want more books that are good for all ages ❤

I love my nod pod! I watched the original video and ordered it right away. I have a hard time staying a sleep, and I am out cold in 5 minutes. Great for travel if you are a light sleeper.

I was so excited that your family is enjoying the Ranger's Apprentice series as that was, and still is, one of my favorite series! I find that, even though I am now in my upper 20's I still go back to read them as an easy book to cozy up with. If I could recommend it, and if your family has not already read the series, the Alex Rider series is amazing as well. Amazon prime has released an original series based on the first couple of books as well and it is very close to the original books. From one Rachel to another, lots of love ❤️ ❤ ❤

Loved the mysterious Benedict society as a kid, after I got past the first few chapters of the first book, which were a little tough to get through as a kid. Ranger's Apprentice was a great series. Percy Jackson is a classic pre-teens and up as well, and can often be found second hand.

My son's clothes were not hanging on a normal basis until he started doing his own laundry, even now they're not always hanging. I'm a total advocate for starting to teach the kiddos how to do their own laundry now because it helps so much! My son is 14 and Friday is his laundry day. He is awesome about getting it done because if he doesn't do his laundry he won't have anything to wear. Plus puberty so ewww...
Regarding Neosporin usage, I have developed an allergy to Neomycin, the main ingredient in Neosporin and many other things. It’s not such a big problem, since you don’t need the ointments anyway, however, you don’t want an allergy because it is an ingredient in a lot of eye drops needed at times.
I had that same experience even with the eye drops with my man. He wasn’t allergic as a child. Somehow he developed a horrible allergy to neomycin!

I swear by the Cerave Healing Ointment in the dark blue tube. It’s similar to the Aquaphor ointment except it has ceramides. It’s my lip balm, cuticle cream, slugging ointment etc etc

🤓🧪No idea about the science of the NodPod, but I have a Happy Hugger heated beanbag which I recently had to haul out because of a hip injury. I can’t explain how deeply and quickly I fall asleep when I lay it over my belly (when I sleep on my back) or over my hip when I’m lying on my side. Genius! I’m definitely going to look into the NodPod!

The Last Apprentice are a good middle reader/YA series that's a solid fantasy adventure series with a creepy vibe for any kiddos who might enjoy that. Very interesting and cool. Myself and my husband both read a bunch of it :)

If you liked the no chips ahead top coat, Essie's Speed Setter and/or Gel Setter are 10x better. I found that I could keep a mani on much longer with those, and I'm pretty rough on my nails and also have weaker nails too.

Aquaphor was a game changer during radiation. I used the stick right after (being careful not to drag too much) and the tub morning and night. I have ultra sensitive skin and I didn't see a lot of irritation.

I've used Nivea body lotions for years! I just finished a bottle of a different formula that was also Q10, but contained an oil. I was amazed at how quickly it absorbed and how well it lasted without irritating my sensitive skin!
Geronimo Stilton books were pretty good for easier chapter books. Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief was also a good series.
I liked the La Roche serum but the smell was too much for me, and I’m not one that usually has a hard time with scent. The nasal irrigation- I bought a Navage, it’s a total game changer. I swear I’ve been healthier this year too !

Not sure which vid you mentioned washing your hair more often. I have to say, I never had hair loss or hair problems when I washed my hair daily or at least every other day. We didn’t have dry shampoo. And when I got into my 30s, I realized I could go a couple days wo (long hair helped cuz short hair is psycho in the am!). Im dealing with hormonal (post menopause) and love the scalp treatments. Nioxin is a fave but my hair responds to cheaper treatments. Ordinary has one.
Thank you so much for giving us the details of your hair journey and the products you use!! I have the same issues, only worse. I truly believe mine is related to malnutrition (several reasons but the main is I have an autoimmune disease called Lupus, as well as diabetes so I don't eat much anymore-my fault but still lol). That said, I have such thin, brittle, fine hair, missing patches, sheds like a ridiculous amount, etc. I identify so much with what you said about maintaining a routine. I don't get it. I can't stand my hair situation yet I appear to be unable to do anything about it consistently hahhaa. I purchased a monthly membership for AG1 (Athletic Greens 1) so that if I'm not able to eat, at least I'm getting some good nutrition. However, it's recommended to drink on an empty stomach and then wait 45 minutes before eating or drinking anything else. I can't! COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE!! UGH lol. Anyway, I think I'm going to purchase the stuff you're using because you REALLY made a big difference and you look absolutely beautiful (you always did but you know what I mean). You can get refillable or reusable cuticle pens and put some dawn dish soap and you have a super affordable and effective cleaner for your rings that gets in the crevices and makes diamonds sparkle like crazy
I'm allergic to my state so my netipot has been a lifesaver especially with using nasal spays. I rinse out my nose and it allows it to go deeper.

When they get old enough, I absolutely recommend The Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner. When i was younger i was all about the Nancy Drew series and my brother loved Hardy Boys. I remember my friends also really loved the Eragon series

Yeah quite a few years ago I couldn’t get rid of a sinus infection and an ENT suggested the netipot and I said I don’t think I can do that…she said they make a squirt bottle version now and it seems easier for people. So yeah it’s still difficult and I don’t look at myself while using it lol but it definitely works like a charm! Especially for people like myself that don’t agree with Sudafed. I get tired and jittery at same time with Sudafed so I stopped taking it years ago ….so yeah the netipot squirt bottle has worked so well 🤗
My dr got me to start nasal irrigation for my allergies. It helps remove pollens ect so well!
