  • After 37 attempts and a broken neck that had almost paralysed him 18 months earlier, Andrew finally got to lift the hallowed trophy after a stellar performance on the 17 year old Nereo (owned by Deborah Sellar).

Defiantly something going on with that hind end. Every time he switches leads he slips and keeps getting it hung up on the jumps.

":defiantly"??? but yes he was slipping. grass might have been wet.

Geez get a grip, he slipped twice on a slick track, last to go out, and Andrew was gunning it. Horse was in Beautiful form all round, and kept that form in the showjumping, no reason to suspect there's anything wrong

I’m not sure why some people refer to these as races? They might be against a clock, but it’s not a race as much as it is a test of skill. You can’t race with only one person on a course or when the competitors are so spaced out they never see each other while competing.

      ....it’s not a race? It’s Badminton 🤨🤔

@@ShintogaDeathAngel It is a race because time faults in any of these big 4 stars are sometimes enough to push you out of the running. If you go too far over the time limit then no matter how good your dressage score is you’ll see how you slide down the rankings.

How many times did that poor horse slip? The fact that there wasn't a catastrophe is just pure luck. Pushing a 17yo horse that hard at the end of a Badminton course with him almost falling 3 times right before is bad horsemanship. The first slip or two, I thought he wasn't studded adequately, but clearly, something else is going on.

Get a grip chances are the horse lost a stud.
Did he not win the event. Any harm to the horse would of well been displayed in the final technol phase showjumping.
Talk about armchair critics who have never competed in the event and never will.

Really once, at the footbridge, which he went on to jump beautifully. The other two moments were at the gates and the last fence. He was the last one out and the ground was quite slick that year, furthermore he knew he could trust his horse and his riding and wanted to push it. The horse looked fit and happy the whole way around, finished with its ears pricked, cantering around calm as ever. Just seems 𝒍𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒔 to say this wasn't anything other than brilliant.
And what's more, what do you expect him to do??! Retire? Bullshit, he's got a fit happy horse that's jumping well.
If you think it was luck that prevented a 'catastrophe' you're delusional, it was Andrews mastery and the horses talent.
Horses slip occasionally, get a grip.
      Rant over.

@@joycooper6343 I totally agree, this was one of the happiest horses I've see go around badminton and he looked in pristine condition in showjumping
