I felt like that about 3yrs ago when I first discovered Paganini's music. Absolutley mind-blowing melodies and tunes! In my opinion its the most beautiful and technically perfect Violin music to grace the earth. Almost like its from another dimension or higher entity. Like how is it even possible to achieve such perfection? 😍🎻 🎶
The Great Master Niccoló Paganini, the World Best violinist!!!! Thank you Master for your work with the Violin, not only as musician, but also as composer and master!!!!
The 5th Violin Concerto was written towards the end of his career, and only the solo part exists. The orchestral parts have been reconstructed from the solo part and are a very fair representation of how the concerto could have sounded. The reconstruction was done in 1959 by Frederico Mompellio and follows Paganini's style very well. Amazing
I read that they had extensive notes on the orchestration though, with the entire solo part. I still call this my favorite concerto to listen to of all time
In order to make a 6 minute and something second-long introduction, I assume they had enough on the orchestration to know what Paganini wanted. That is one hella-long orchestral introduction isn't it?? haha
[0:09] I. Allegro maestoso (cadenza: Remy Principe/Salvatore Accardo) [19:44] II. Andante, un poco sostenuto [What a miraculous movement!] [28:45] III. Finale: Rondò. Andantino quasi Allegretto

Fantastic ! (i don't understand how the hell some people dare to criticize people who have committed themselves in the Art of violin and are universally considered as Legends )
Paganini really is underrated as a composer, and given credit only for virtuosity and I never was able to understand why. This and almost all of his Concertos are so well constructed and full of beautiful melodies. Not to mention some of his sonatas.
Because his passion was in Performance more than the Technical writing, he could and did do that but how Entertaining his Live stage Performances were described sounds to me like that was where He Was At His Best!!!
Before Paganini died, he wrote every note of the solo part. But when the top composers were recruited to reproduce the entire piece, they realized that even though he didn't write any of the orchestral parts, he had such extensive notes about the orchestral that it was a "given" ( "a given" in layman's terms haha).

beulze Actually, you can go to violinist.com and create an account. In there, you can ask any questions you want about Paganini and have a great discussion with other professional violinists or classical music lovers.
I first heard Paganini a 20 years old, when I was a poor student. I bought the LP "Concerto #4 & 5" for one dollar and I heard in a very old turntable of my grandma. I really love Paganini and Salvatore Accardo.

A Alquimia transformando o barro em Homem... A Fera em Gente... q obra... Abencoada Humanidade... Obrigado Paganini. SP Brasil
This set of 6 Violin Concerti (plus solo pieces) from DG;s' catalog represents some of the treasures recorded by the company. Old School Accardo produces such a faultless tone and technique - has to be heard to be believed. This older London Philharmonic sounds robust and vigorous, tonally accurate, superb ensemble. The dynamic range and presence of the analog recordings yields NOHTING to digital recordings. Dutoit is brilliant.
Yes I have that 6-CD DGG BOX too. Just rediscovered it in my collection...almost forgottten...it contains the most difficult violin piece ever;....variiations on "......" sorry I forgot italian title of 5 words.
Read online, Salvatore actually played the very Stradivarius of Paganini at one time. Wonder if these recordings were made using it? Just imagine I am sitting in my bedroom listening to an amazing violinist playing Paganini's music on RUclips through my Bose soundbar. And I don't have to be in the entourage of the Holy Roman Emperor! And people long for the good old days?
When I was a young violinist, Paganini was said to be similar as a composer to Giacomo Rossini in style. Maybe so, but Paganini still seems distinctive, uniquely so, to my ears.
Very beautiful, almost as sweet as the 4th, Salvatore seems highly underrated. These recordings with the London Philharmonic may be the best I have heard. His violin is not shrill like others I have heard. Who made it?
This is the sweet sound of Salvotore Accardo's Stradivarius, the "Hart ex Francescatti" (1727). But one thing I have discovered in my 50 years of violin playing is that the quality and timbre of the sound is as much a product of the player as that of the instrument. Combine a fiddle of the highest quality with a player of Salvatore's calibre and you have pure gold.
We can perceive the marks of irony in several passages of this work of Paganini. But the traces of irony are alternated with extreme feeling, as if he were redeeming himself at all times from his sarcasm. And Salvatore Accardo is not the finest violinist of all, but he is the violinist who best translates Paganini's spirit
Solo pochi riescono a captare

Compare Chopin's piano "concertos" and Paganini's CONCERTOS. What a difference.

Paganiniego słucham od dziecka ,najbardziej lubię koncert nr2 d - dur oraz sonaty na skrzypce z gitarą.
