The most memorable part of Triumph's Meriden history for me was the steadfast loyalty and passion shown by the workforce for the brand in the most adverse of financial conditions of the company towards its closure. Nice chat and walk round with Geoff there and it's fantastic the way Triumph has been reborn in such a successful way :)
I could listen to you guys talk triumph all day. Thanks for these videos and for this gentlemans ability to articulate the passion he has for these classics! 👍👍👍
As a Triumph owner of a classic T-140es Bonnie I really enjoyed the walk around with you and found the commentary very interesting and knowledgeable I an learning new things every time I watch one of these clips. Thanks for loading it up to You Tube. Looking forward to your next video!!
I'm glad they spent some time on the Tridents history. My 73 Trident is the only bike I wish I had back. Performance was fantastic, looks were the same. The exhaust sound was incredible. It's the reason I own a 1999 Triumph Thunderbird and a 2006 Triumph RocketIII. The sound of all Triumph triples are so exotic they remind me of Rolls-Royce Merlins. I love my Triumphs.
Another excellent video TMF, I never knew the museum existed. I'm a bit of a Triumph fan, a true British success story. Thanks for making this small doc.
+TheM4 Boar Thanks TheM4 Boar - I'm guessing you're not that far away, well worth popping along if you're a Triumph fan, we only scratched the surface of the machines at the museum....cheers - TMF
Absolutely love Triumph motorcycles. I was slightly disappointed to not see any examples of the 1963 to 1970 Bonnevilles, especially those sold to America, and most especially the Bonneville TT Specials; one of which I purchased brand new in 1965.
Great videos on Triumph! My cousin owned one in the early 60s wearing a black leather jacket and girlfriend on the back. I was hooked on riding. Unfortunately never owned a Triumph but I have been looking at them lately. Alway enjoy your videos and of all the channels I subscribe to yours is on the top of my list to view.
Have watched both parts now, really enjoyed them. Many thanks for taking the time and effort to put this package together. I suspect you're going to have loads of viewers and subscribers as a result ! Just for your info, links are on the Triumph Forum to your vids. Dave
Another top video. As I mentioned earlier I come from Warrandyte an outer suburb of Melbourne. One of the famous characters who lived in Warrandyte now has passed away and my wife and I knew was a chap who ran a little book business "Owls Nest Books" was also one of the great motorcycle engineers, in particular engines, he had strange views on suspension aside, name Phil Irving designer of the HRD Vincent engine and the Repco Brabham engine. We have a few of his books amongst our collection.
+Muffin Hands My pleasure Muffin Hands, I learned a lot making these and really enjoyed my visit, well worth popping along some time as we only scratched the surface of what's at the museum....
Visits to museums, a look at the motorbike press, riding biker routes, reviews, to name but a few. Great that your making the content varied and consequently fresh. I can say it's appreciated by us subs. Thanks for putting the effort in TMF. Cheers and ride safe as always. Are you open to ideas from your sub base as well?
Sure am Sleepingdragon - it's coming up with ideas for content that's the hard bit! Thanks for your kind comments much appreciated and what keeps me making these films....cheers - TMF
TheMissendenFlyer I know like me you prefer to be a lone wolf when it comes to riding. I don't like group rides, too much dicking around goes on for me. But how about the odd dual vlogs, I think I'm right in thinking you've never done one. Perhaps linking up with a vlogger in your area could be a goer. Captain Rambunctious likes Triumphs, he's an aviator, and reasonably local to you I think. Might be enjoyable all round. Just a thought mate.
Yes you are right, in fact I've never met another Vlogger....I do know Captain Rambunctious though and we keep trying to arrange a meet up...so you never know...cheers - TMF
Another splendid video MF . Thanks to Geoff , very knowledgeable guy . Shame he didn't tell us about the Salt Lake tests with the Bonnie . Very interesting trivia , especially about the H on the Tank and the Engine cut away . Thanks again, worth a visit when the weather warms up at tad . ATB
bloody great that thanks TMF......owned by the germans huh...blimey crikey ya do learn something new every day eh!! next chance i get i think a ride out darn souths in order...the ACE then the museum, ride safe...bizz
Would you please do a video on how to determine if a bike is a bobber or a scrambler or a super sport or.... etc etc I've always loved bikes but some of these terms leave me wondering how you know which is which.
Interesting video. Googled it to see how it was fairing under COVID and found it closed in 2019. National museum in Solihull is also in danger and needs support.
The tank rack name thing. So curious now what those riders came up with. "d**kripper", "ballmauler", "deshafter"? Just for historical info. 2 great videos and thanks.
I read somewhere many years ago that British vehicle taxes were based on the ''bore'' of it's motor , making many Brit. cars and bikes with long stroke narrow bore motors. Is this true, and if so is it common today ?
Hi CW, we don't have a big AMC section but do have 2 Matchless bikes, a 54 G3LS and a 61 G3AFS (Auxiliary Fire Service). There are also 3 Ajays - 54 Model 20, 56 16MS and a 60 Model 20 CSR. I'll brush up on em for your visit!
It came down to a lack of investment by those at the top who took the profits in the 50s and 60s. Also ignoring the Japanese threat, they even went to Japan to look at Hondas factory but came away saying the Japanese weren’t a threat because they didn’t build big bikes, Honda proved them wrong. It’s a sad story in part it also applies to Austin Rover and other British manufacturers
great video keep them coming.can you do one on royal enfield? i am doing the ring of red m25 today for rideofrespect.co.uk from clackett lane services on my r.e. 535 gt continental
My Grandfather, Brian Jones, thanks you for making these videos ❤
No problem!
I absolutely loved this series. Thank you much and the police bike was icing on the cake.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Geoff for a fabulously knowledgeable history of Triumph. You are a legend (along with them)
100% agree!
Yes quite a story with regards to the sit in - not sure I've heard of any other cases like that...
Yes, my friend had a new T140 V and E and the frame was just gloss painted over bare steel, no primer.
'here here' ;-)
I could listen to you guys talk triumph all day. Thanks for these videos and for this gentlemans ability to articulate the passion he has for these classics! 👍👍👍
Thank you for watching!
This was really great to watch, the gentleman is a wealth of knowledge, loved the cut away one ,
Good video. You can tell that Geoff knows more about Triumphs than he lets on!
+farric1 Yes he's a walking bike encyclopaedia!
Great Stuff - I was shown around the Triumph Works Coventry when a younger man ... Loved it. Merv F. Australia
Fantastic!, and great to see so much Triumph history and development well preserved and on display for all. Well done.
Thank you Darren - glad you approve :0)
I had a Grand Prix square barrel motor, very rare. I also restored a '50 Triumph Thunderbird, I miss it dearly.
Great videos....both parts. I just love the old Triumphs. All of them wonderful bikes. Thank you for sharing the great info. Well done, thumbs up.
Thank you for watching!

Hey, I owned a 73 Trident too! Hooker header and huge rear sprocket. Guy I bought it from drag raced it. Hellish drama to start it though.
Thanks for the tour mate ! One day I'd like to have a look round that museum. Very nice ! Cheers 🍻
You're welcome Donnie, glad you found the tour of interest....more soon!
lovely interesting video. I used to live in the same village as percy tait, famous road racer and triumph test rider.
Nice one Peter, and thanks for the kind words as ever - TMF

Would you please do a video on how to determine if a bike is a bobber or a scrambler or a super sport or.... etc etc
I've always loved bikes but some of these terms leave me wondering how you know which is which.
Interesting video. Googled it to see how it was fairing under COVID and found it closed in 2019.
National museum in Solihull is also in danger and needs support.
Yes shame isn’t it....
Would have liked to hear his opinion on the Harris Bonneville, or is that something not spoken about?
The tank rack name thing. So curious now what those riders came up with. "d**kripper", "ballmauler", "deshafter"? Just for historical info. 2 great videos and thanks.
Will have to have a look at my speed triple r now to look at the R
...and the "H" of course!
Awesome stuff!!!!
Thanks :0)
I read somewhere many years ago that British vehicle taxes were based on the ''bore'' of it's motor , making many Brit. cars and bikes with long stroke narrow bore motors. Is this true, and if so is it common today ?

Cheers as ever....
Thanks for doing these vids, really enjoyed them.
Do they have a Matchless section at the museum?
Err, don't honestly know, perhaps Geoff will be along and can answer for us????
That would be great. Either way, I have been wanting to go and visit for a while now. Best get myself up there :)

You’re welcome...
3 and a half years ago already and you look so much younger these days Andy.
Thank you - I've been working hard on my health and fitness over the last 3 years! Glad you noticed...
@@TheMissendenFlyer And it shows!!! Well done Andy!!!

Alas! All gone now. Les
Ladies love the vibration factor. What you talkin bout Lewis.
I love my 2019 Tiger 800 XRx. I’ve owned BMW, Indians and more Harleys than I can count.
part 2 yay!
:0)
As a owner of a 1965/6 Bonneville T120 SR, what about the Bonni ???????
What about it???
You didn’t bring Triumph’s best bike « THE BONNEVILLE” shame on you!!!!
I agree! As a teenager I owned a T120C Bonneville TT Special. 13:23 in the quarter mile!
Thanks.
You are very welcome!
Really good vids, but got to wonder how they let it all go, to busy looking at the past instead of the future I guess
It came down to a lack of investment by those at the top who took the profits in the 50s and 60s. Also ignoring the Japanese threat, they even went to Japan to look at Hondas factory but came away saying the Japanese weren’t a threat because they didn’t build big bikes, Honda proved them wrong.

Kindly rename the video to (Part 2 of 100)!
+kolokolok 2016 hehe, nice one, I take it you approved then, thanks for watching and for stopping by - TMF
