With Akane I think they're trying to depict how very talented method actors are. They learn the psychology of the character they're portraying to become them. To others it seems obsessive, but to a method actor it's just part of the process. They have to learn everything down to the smallest details. As for Aqua's reaction, I think he's been in denial forever that Ai wasn't acting. He's always seen Ai through rose tinted glasses, but as viewers we knew just how much of Ai's personality was calculated and crafted by her.
Yeah I was thinking about that afterwards. A lot of what she did was a construct. She constructed this persona so that she would become popular and become successful so it could be replicated. Almost like a successful business model lol. Jokes aside though I get that he wouldn’t necessarily know that so it makes sense that he would see her as “special” or one of a kind. I mean we all are, but he didn’t really know “her” just the “her” she wanted people to see.
It's actually the Stanislavski Method not Method acting. It's mentioned that Akane is most known for her theatre work and the Stravinsky Method was made for theatre. Its essentially building up a character and determining believable performable traits. It's why they show that Akane is studying Ai's physical tendencies. The difference between method acting and the Stravinsky Method, is in method acting you live the life of the character and understand physical tendencies in the process, where as in Stravinsky's method, you study a character and their physical tendencies in order to replicate it. There's more to it but you can search it for yourself
I think Akane's technique was called Stanislavski Technique which is used a lot in theatre performances. It's a technique where you write down all facts and do some deep analysis(or make reasonable assumptions) then apply it to your character. A bit old-fashioned but it's still one of the best techniques for actors across the world no matter what level you are. But her sticking it on a wall is kinda creepy lololol tho I understand cause a lot of students do that as well to memorize and be familiarized with your studies. She's kinda rushing too since the shooting is just few days ahead.
Aikane has arrived! Honestly it's so much better when you notice how eerie it kinda is when Akane's VA is able to mimic Rie Takahashi's take on Ai as far as cadence and intonation. Which even goes further to illustrate just how talented Akane is
13:50 I think it's less of Yuki trying to impose her feelings on Akane, and more of her trying to give her a wake-up call that there are people she can always talk to, and that that decision of hers was the last one she should have made. She's showing her that she cares, which means the world to someone who has been ostracized by the general public.
Nono, it's creepy. She's impersonating his mother to an "uncanny valley" extent. It's biologically wired into humans that it's creepy, lol. Method acting isn't creepy when it's used for fictional or historical characters... the same can't be said when it was someone you were close to.
@@Alellion She doesn't know it's his mom 💀 She's not close to Ai, she was just using her as inspiration for "Aqua's ideal girl". She wasn't even the one who had the idea to act like Ai, the others were the ones who suggested it
@@Alellion At this moment, all she knows is that Ai is Aqua's ideal girl. She doesn't know Ai is his mother or that he knew her personally. It's creepy for him because it's such an incredibly accurate impression. She doesn't even know that it's that accurate.
-yes, he released her suicide attempt to the press. He did it to give himself leverage against the show's producers. Once the suicide attempt was public, the producers couldn't keep painting her as a villain, and they couldn't easily stop attempts to recover her image. in the end he finds out about the fixed camera footage and uses the suicide attempt to press the director into giving them the whole recording so they got the end of the scene. as for akane, you're overthinking it. she's a method actress. she tries to become the role she's portraying.
The fact that her deductive and analysis skill is so good that she's able to interpret Ai not how she was in the stage, but how she was behind the scenes is both scary and shocking, Akane was able to show something that not even the public knew about Ai, something that only those close to her (her kids and the producer) knew. She IS a genius at acting, dedicating into studying the character in the most insignificant details and even guessing things that weren't showed.
One thing I'd like to say about that slap to Akane was that something people don't think about is how people close to the victims of suicide feel when they try or do take their own lives. Like if someone loses a parent or a sibling or someone very dear to them in general due to suicide they could have a feeling that the victim took themselves away from them. Frustration and anger can come with grief so I don't see anything wrong with her response since in her eyes she almost lost the life of a very dear friend and took herself from them and she feels frustrated that she wasn't able to help her up to this point,
YES, you kinda HAVE to hit the person in the face sometimes, that's what friends do. I will disagree for sure with you, because a slap like that is actually necessary to put some sense back in the person.
I swear when I used to be so deep in my own shit, a slap on the cheek from my mother literally snapped me out of it . Sometimes you literally can't hear sh*t when you're drowning in your own depressing thoughts. That slap literally brought me back to life, and was in no way intended to hurt me. Some people do need it, and I'd appreciate this channel more if Awake tend to be more open minded in that every people deal with things differently .
yea, Akane is a method actor. they study the role they're performing to the point they can slip in and out of an entirely different personality sometimes!
Never feel worthless. I love your reaction videos. You worth a lot for so many viewers like me because we have same kind of emotions. We get emotional at the same time as you.
Akane isn't obsessed with Aqua, she's just crazy when it comes to understand characters she has to play, i mean movies and plays have all the info in a book, but with a real person she went with everything she could find. which is maybe more than what Aqua kimself knows. I didn't think about it as creepy in the manga, but the anime puts it with a pacing that makes it feel like that.
I believe it is meant to feel like that, though, since Method Acting is something that absolutely requires this level of immersion, so much to the point some Method Actors have lost themselves in the process. Oshi no Ko is a psychological horror anime/manga created to showcase all the ugly within the entertainment industry, so it'd feel out of place for most if this scene was not creepy.
I think you're really spot on with Aqua. A lot of the gusto and amazement with Akane's ability to act... I think a subtle thing in this episode is you can see a lot of the pain Aqua's feeling, and the way he never like... shows it. It's a point made over and over, the "role you play" is your armor. So, that's why there's such a huge irony here, in that the role Akane's about to play is almost ripping that armor off of Aqua. That look at the end, I think it's not just shock, but I think he's hurting a bit. He put Ai up on a pedestal. And the thing is, not even he understands how he feels. I'm a really strong believer that Aqua's feelings toward Ai are just... well, he loves his mom and misses her, and never managed to resolve his idea in his head that he could truly be her son. I've noticed a recurring theme in the show that people ask Aqua about Ai, and he is always forced to pretend some relation to her that isn't true. When he first talked to the producer guy he thought might be his dad, Aqua got asked if he's just a fan who's still obsessed with her after her death. And Aqua just says yes without batting an eye. This episode, while he's remembering his dead mom, it's played for laughs but he's just gotta kinda sit there and take it while the other two girls give him little jabs for being obsessed with looks. He's used to it, but I don't think that makes it any less sad. Aqua feels like a fake, and feels like he's not really Ai's son. He's convinced himself that the role he's playing all his life is that he's her son. And that's why he can't sort out his feelings, which is pretty normal. I mean... he literally has an Oedipal complex. Tragedy and parents has a way of making you pursue people just like your mom (or dad, in the case of women), even without a revenge quest against your father. I really feel bad for him honestly. There's almost this no good deed goes unpunished aspect to it (though it's not anyone's fault).
Oh, when I say spot-on, that might seem contradictory since I take a different view from you ultimately. Where you say, you think Aqua is "really the doctor," I think sort of Aqua's character is going toward Aqua is "really Aqua." But it's less that we have the same exact view, and more that I think the questions that you're asking are the questions the show is meant for us to ask. Is Aqua him, or the doctor, or are they separate people? What's "real" and what's a "role"? When do roles protect you, and when do they tear you apart from the inside out?
Yeah Aqua clearly has a ton of unresolved trauma he’s masking. He literally watched his mom die and who knows how long he was alone with her before the paramedics came. Bringing all that back up gotta hurt.
Aqua released the scoop himself. It was so he could leverage it into making their own episode of the show and also to get hands on the material. As for Akane, she is not obsessed nor she is creepy. She is method actress and as stated in the show, very professional talent recognized in theatrical community. Method actors study their characters IN EVERY. POSSIBLE. ASPECT. IMAGINABLE. It could be viewed as being obsessed, but what they are actually doing is over-analyzing the character to the point where they can play both positive traits and flaws and BECOME that character. And Akane is true professional. She was from the beginning portraited as one of the most talented, hard working and dedicated people and she was only struggling with the reality show, because she got no direction, no role to play. Once she got a role to play, she nailed it because that's how good she is. And the fact that she spent so much time even skipping sleep just shows how dedicated and hard working she is (which was also shown previous episodes where we saw her training very hard in capacity rarely anyone could match). Just notice how Akane's voice actress started imitating how Ai's voice actress was portraing Ai. If voice actresses can do that with a voice, it's natural that a very talented person can do it with everything. And no, Aqua was not creeped out. He was shocked, he was in awe, he was nostalgic, he was stunned. He saw Ai. That's how good Akane is. And I think you are overanalyzing. Akane is not trying actively to really make Aqua fall in love. Keep in mind they are ROLE PLAYING for the REALITY SHOW. She was suggested to play a role of girl Aqua likes and she did that. Aqua was surprised because he was sure that NOBODY could even COME CLOSE to be like Ai. He was simply not expecting this level of acting from Akane.
Nah you're right, saying "why are you worrying us?" is already wrong. And a slap, adds even more. The mind remembers alone, but physical feelings can root the emotional pain even deeper...
after a suicide attempt, getting hit by someone doesn't hurt as much as one's own emotions that came about during the suicide attempt. sometimes the sadness flow back in and the tears come back again, but the feelings that come up after getting hit by someone would be, "oop, i got slapped, she cared about me, maybe i shouldn't have tried killing myself." but for a good bit, you're just kinda aware you lived through something. after you cried your eyeballs dry, other peoples' emotions tend to run high around you. so aside from just letting yourself cry again, you kinda wanna go home after making sure everyone knows you're okay. getting slapped or punched by someone who cares reaches you as "oh they do care" in that moment - there isn't space for anger. you just kinda wanna rest. sorry for the ramble. but it is true that a person realizes their problems would be solvable partway through. having others you know commit suicide keeps on hurting, that'll happen. but also, be careful trying to speak for others and how they feel after their experiences.
i think the emotions you were talking about in Aqua's expression didn't include "creeped out" at all. in-awe, amazed, hopeful, or like he's just seen someone he thought was dead walk into the room.
There is definitely a form of fear in his eyes. If you look back at Ai's death during the prologue, you'll see that the lines Aqua has under his eyes during this scene with Akane is the same lines he had under his eyes when Ai was dying. There is, however, also excitement/hope, which is why the one star in his eye lit up so brightly.
Statistically speaking you should have more than one soulmate. And if you are destined to meet him, it wouldn't matter the day, you will meet him eventually.
Ahahahahaha go as deep as you need, do not limit yourself, it's the reason why we watch reactions: different toughts, perspectives, discussions and ways to connect
She's not creeping, she's studying for her role. Think of like Evan Peters when he was doing his role as Dahmer or Christian Bale in... pretty much any role he's been given. They do a deep dive into who they are trying to portray to be convincing enough that they can even convince themselves they ARE that person. Can it be dangerous? Of course, just look at Heath Ledger. But with Akane she's just doing what she does best. Acting, and she doesn't know Aqua's past, she just wants to show her appreciation for saving her life and is going along with playing the part of someone he vaguely said was his type.
Akane is noted for her acting, and even she acknowledges that it may be her "one redeeming feature". Actors like Gary Oldman don't play characters, they become them. When you forget that you're watching this actor or that, and only see the character, that's top tier acting. As for Aqua's reaction to the "new and improved Akane 2.0" I thought about Scottie when he sees Judy for the first time in Vertigo. Imagine seeing someone who so closely resembles someone that you loved as much as Aqua loved and idolizes his mom. Powerful stuff. I love that as the show goes on, we learn more about the characters. Yuki, Kana, MEM-cho (who I'm really starting to like), they're comple characters with their own issues and backstories, and it makes the show more interesting.
I think it's interesting that the voice actress for Ai said that (as a fan of the manga) the character she most wanted to play (and initially auditioned for) was Akane.... I think the point they're trying to make is not that Akane is a stalker but that's she a REALLY good method actor. I haven't read the manga, so I'm now wondering... what will Ruby think?
Akane really imitated perfectly Ai, from her hand movements, body language and the smile is the same of the opening. Unless they mentioned the opposite: Akane's voice actress (Manaka Iwami) imitated perfectely Rie Takahashi' voice as Ai. Full team Akane
Wow I am so sorry you feel that way I am new here and you honestly seem like such a genuine nice person and I want you to know from one stranger to another you matter and your worth something. You mean something to me and the people who look forward to your videos as well. Again, I am really sorry and shocked to hear that you have a toxic community I hope you know you don’t deserve any of that and for what it’s worth your life is worth more than what a bunch of mean spirited people think and that even if 100 people “hate” you there will always be that one person who cares and is here to stick around and I will be happy to be that one person. Take care of yourself ❤
Its amazing that Akane bounced back and that she showed us her true acting skills and what she can do. Like she literally portrayed what was said to be an impossible person to portray lol. So when it comes to Akane's story line is is perfect and very well put together. However, now Aqua is most probably gonna get traumatized by this. Like he literally saw his mother die horribly and after having a crush on her in his past life. Now he is I feel like he is reliving that experience like for sure he is confused. I'm not really sure though how this is going to play out. He might resent her or get closer but most likely considering his character and the fact that he has a weak spot for AI he might choose the second option. Man I'm excited af!! Our fav character is being shown through our second fav!! This is the definition of hype!! Great episode overall. P.S: I was all for Akane getting slapped a the beginning that showed real emotion and care from the model.
It's just so rare seeing Aqua being so dumbstruck with how calculating he usually is, he really thought "Yeah, feel free to try it, you will never be Ai." 😂 Also, cool Fushi tshirt! 👍
I think the way she research is like reading a script and getting into character. Besides there is no script writer to help her. And yeah she might have figured out the mastermind Aqua was looking for.
In terms of the slap, I feel it really does depend on what type of person you're dealing with. There's an argument to be made that people in that mind space need as many reasons to stay away from that mind space, including anger or shock. The more time they're grounded in feeling angry at you for something ultimately miniscule is less time they're getting lost in their darker thoughts, and what not. Again, it kinda depends on who you're dealing with; what kind of person they are, how you know them, etcetera. Obviously, the last thing you should do is something that would send someone spiralling into that suicidal mindset again. There are people who might need a slap, people who might react poorly, people that are in the middle where they don't really need it, but won't react poorly and may even be more understanding like "In this situation, that slap was as much something you needed as much as you feel I needed it". Again, there's all types. You can probably make several college essays solely on the topic and still not capture it in it's entirety.
This helps aqua to perhaps realize that ai was also putting up a character. I dont read the manga so i'm just thinking aqua always thought he met the real version of ai all the time. Perhaps ai was always playing a character and maybe now aqua might realise that. This might help him figure out who his father was. Akane best girl.
The way I personally interpreted Akane's research, she's a method actor and Oshi No Ko likes to show the industry as it is; I think it's not meant to be seen as malicious but moreso as a reflection of how far method acting goes IRL, they're showing how doing that involves digging to an almost obsessive degree for information on the character you're trying to portray.
it's exactly it. We spent two episodes showing how hard working and dedicated to the JOB Akane can be. And then we were told she is a talented genius of theatre. It's simply how good she is, she is in no way obsessed with Ai or Aqua. She just got a role to play and she is going to do the BEST FRIGGIN JOB she can
Yeah the slap was not ok... also no she isn't a stalker, think about it method actors need this level of information because their intention is to virtually BE that person. You have to understand the motives, goals and rationale of your character. Just superficially acting like someone isn't good enough you have to understand why they were that way. Also Akane merely wants to leave her mark, and fulfill her responsibility as an actor, and well, not get treated like shit... I mean who woudlnt' have some real feelings for the guy that saved you but I highly doubt she would do anything improper as that goes completely against her character. Also the implication is, that Akane can act like Ai... because it was all a lie to begin with, everything about Ai's persona was a pretty lie. Even Ai knew this and it is why she was so conflicted over telling her children that she loved them because she was afraid that too would be a lie. Also... Akane doesn't know how things actually are, and the fact is, her acting like Ai is just as real as when Ai did it... she wasn't born that way. If anything AT ALL is creepy .... its the presumption that she was by an otaku. Even though Ruby and Aqua were her children... there is probably so much they don't know about the real Ai.
I think the guy with the cap was convinced because he ultimately was the one who suggested to Akane that she should try and grab the spotlight, so he felt bad.
I am just glad that she didn't made it into obsession because of her mental state at the time, a lot of actors/actresses accidently stay in a certain character because it feels better than their real selves (what they think) or even their mental wellbeing at the time. Also voice actors can get stuck on accidently using a character's voice because they somehow forgot how their real voices sound. (Tea or something warm can get their voice back to normal) The creepy music when she was researching made me also think she was leading it into an obsession or stalking.
Well , that slap is from the last group of people who really know and cares about her, if Akane choose to mad at them too then she actually done right there.
13:40 I don't think Yuki was selfish and thinking it's all about herself. She is very kind and caring person. Some people get angry at others when those others hurt themselves. That's how some people express their protectiveness and worry about others. I know some people may think that slap was too much, but it's a very human reaction and in no way was it in a sense of "how dare you do this to ME" and more of a "stop hurting yourself you moron, can't you see that this could be irreversible mistake? wake up please and take care of yourself". You didn't even notice that Yuki said "you can always talk to me". As a person who often falls into a bad mental state I can confirm that this can in fact be helpful if done by someone you trust. On several occasions I was really broken down and in a state of mind that I'm worthless useless trash that nobody cares about. And the thing that snapped me out of it was when my close friend yelled at me and called me idiot multiple times and basically kept insulting me in a caring kind of way while simultaneously saying many true things about me that. All I could do in response was to shut up and cry all my worries out. She is person I trust the most and I know she cares about me as I do about her, and that really helped, also because it hit me that what I was thinking at the time was not true and that a lot of people kept worrying about me to the point where it affected them. So I'm all on board with Yuki and as you could see there, it worked for Akane. So please please do not mistake people caring for people imposing themselves on you. Not sure if it's a culture thing, but at least in my region (central europe) it's not seen that way.
What you see here is called the Stainslavinky method. The method is an actor training system made up of various different techniques designed to allow actors to create believable characters and help them to really put themselves in the place of a character. She's talented, and she's professional theatre actress, so don't worry, she does this all the time for each character she plays
Respectfully, you mentioned how that you have times where you feel worthless, that you feel like the world would be better off without you because you don't think you contribute anything of value. Even though you struggle with mental anguish, there are people that would be scarred if you ended yourself. Yuki's slap is an emotional outburst yes, but it brings into focus that Akane not wanting to think about anything, and deciding to end her life to escape pain would have hurt the people that care about her. I get what you were saying that it's about her feelings and her hurt, but if her feelings are valid so are the people's around her. Akane likes Yuki and was ashamed of accidentally hurting her, but killing herself would also have hurt her. Akane tried to keep everything to herself to avoid making her mother worry, but in the process only made her mother worry more. Akane ending her own life would have been torturous to her mother. Akane could only experience that slap because she wasn't successful, and that slap carries with it the pain she was going to spread into the lives of the people around her; pain and worry that Akane didn't want to cause. Is slapping a hurting person in Akane's situation the best idea? Probably not, but if you know the person slapping you loves and cares about you then I don't see it as a big deal.
And regarding Akanes research and acting. Don't overthink it. She is "just" a genius actress. Actually, she could be a profiler in real life. Of course, i understand that it can be viewed as creepy when someone imitates a real person to that degree, but in the end, that's what all actors do, they pretend to be someone else. i think we just find it more acceptable when actors imitate fictional characters, but actors are capable of imitating other people, fictional or real.
Akane wants to thanks Aqua for saving her life so she does some "necromancy" to bring back Aqua's mom and might potentially remind him of the trauma that could open his wound or heal him. Thanks, Necromancer Akane.
Taking responsibility is a big thing in Japan, even if their directing caused the shitstorm she's the one who committed her own actions, moral argument aside. Japanese people tend to favour being humble so it's normal even after an event like this to apologise to your colleagues. Angry as it makes you being from a country where people don't even have to take responsibility for their own feelings never mind their own actions XD. There is a huge cultural chasm between America that puts the needs of the individual first and Japan that puts the collective first.
I think with Akane it's a bit of both: she literally wouldn't be alive without Aqua, so she's definitely attached. But she's also a great and genius actor so she goes 100% into the role.
Hey, I just realized finally after watching your EP.7 reaction but your thumbnail in your other episodes, the “oshi no ko” title is spelled wrong i think you got the wrong text it is supposed to be 推しの子, your thumbnail is 推しっ子 which “can” be read as “pee” and i think u got trolled or got the wrong source to save from. Im a japanese so im 100% certain of what i say I hope everyone who care about her, and for the title of the show likes this so she could notice this...
Just to clarify akane is doing a specific type of acting When she was doing everything with Ai's research. Some actors and actresses do this exact thing so they can fully emody the role they are playing. Especially if the character they're playing is based off a real person.
akane is not creepy is just method acting, look out for actos like robert de niro, dicrapio or christian bale, they do everything to put into their character shoes
yup she dont deserve the slap since they not really willing risk help her earlier when she suffer abuse enough to end normal people life i know aqua manage to atleast save her last minute but they can actually help her earlier if they really friends instead of just watch at the side till she end herself
14:16 It’s really not that deep. Anime exaggerates what actions people take but in reality people really need a wake up call like that. I understand your point about the victim feeling that they are to blame about other’s emotions, but you need to understand that this was a suicide attempt. There are no redos, no respawn, no way or form that you can take back your actions. True friends or at least those who care about you will not only comfort you but also metaphorically and in this case physically slap some sense back into you. Death is not a joke and Yuki (from what I can interpret), did what she did to tell Akane that she has people to talk to, people that can truly help her with what she is facing.
Akane wanting to do something for aqua, only really knows how to do one thing, HAS to play a character, so she just picks one she thinks he would like based on their group convo. It would be weird in normal contexts, but if it's just a little fun thing at work, it makes sense
28:00 i think in theater some actors take understanding of a character they are playing on next lvl that's why it show she prodigy in theater, not sure about her obsession with Aqua
Regarding the slap in the face from Yuki. Different people will react differently to something like that. Some people need it, others are only hurt further. People are different and each person has its own kind of depression, that's what makes it so hard to deal with as an outsider. You are clearly someone who'd react negatively to a slap like that, but there are people who, as i said, really need it. You've seen it in the comments yourself. People say how a slap like that was what they needed the most in a certain moment. You have every right to be angry at Yuki, but at the same, as contradicting as it may sound, you also can't blame her. You can't deny that she really cares for Akane and showing Akane that there are people who like her and who care for her, i think that's what is important.
13:01 We live in a society. Our actions and inactions can hurt people, much more than it may seem. So I can understand her, even though I think it was unnecessary.
Don't worry. This isn't Akane being creepy or becoming a stalker. She's researching her character. How do you portray another actual human being...you research every little detail you can. This is what actors do irl. Talented ones. Gotta say, your reaction to this is the first i've seen so far to go in this direction. That was an interesting different take.
You have to also keep in mind that part of the reason Akane’s profiling and research is so creepy, even though it’s fairly normal for performers to do, is that, we as the audience, don’t know much about Ai. Just like Aqua and Ruby we have rose tinted glasses of who she is even though we got to see more of her real personality towards the end of the first episode, but only bits and pieces through her inner monologue. Akane doesn’t see Ai the same way we did, or Aqua and Ruby did. So naturally it’s going to sound weird and obsessive, but it’s more of the real Ai then anyone really got to see.
14:20 Strange. I don't know why you'd be so annoyed by the slap. Akane didn't even protest it because she knew it was deserved since she did something extremely stupid, with all things considered. If a person goes insane and decides they want to end own life, you should indeed slap them so the pain (from the slap) forces them to snap back to reality and perhaps change their POV on things. Nah, it was a deserved slap! I say mom should've slapped her too! Had Akane died, she would've been miserable no questions asked; blaming herself perhaps even; feeling betrayed her daughter didn't open up to her and so on. Better a slap than a grave! Slap as a sign of "don't you ever think about doing it again!"
In regards to the slap, your point is valid. It does look harsh considering what they went through and it depends on the person on how they react to it. However, sometimes, a slap might be what someone needs because it could snap them back to reality and focus on who is in front of them instead of their thoughts. The physical pain might be a reminder that there are those who genuinely care and are there with her now. It's kinda like some characters in anime that slap themselves to refocus or get out of their negative thoughts. I just felt there is a bit more nuance and meaning to the slap and follow up hug, but I can understand your point of view if the slap was only about Yuki's reaction and feelings
even if aqua got her to calm down and she realized that she was making a mistake, she's still very much so depressed. she says she's still scared and until aqua and the rest of them put up the behind the scenes video, she was hiding away in her room. the slap, in the moment, isn't solely meant to vent frustrations, but to get akane's attention and hopefully get her to take in that there are people that care.
I wouldn't have slapped a friend in that circumstance, though among guy friends, smacking sense into someone isn't a terrible thing. But specifically for the scene between Yuki and Akane, the slap is some good writing because it's Yuki's way of saying "There, I slapped you too so now we're even; stop letting what happened on the show make you feel guilty." while also doing the generic loving smack of a worried friend. It's a pretty layered interaction.
Just a little fact the whole scenario with Akane it's based off of a true story a reality wrestling show actress named Hana Kimura committed suicide after getting into controversy with fellow actresses and got a lot of hate . But unfortunately she died where Akane got to live
Hey, don't apologize for remembering stuff of your own life, there's nothing wrong with that. After all, you have a community, and we care about you and what you have to say
Even being one of the best actress she was never good in the reality dating show because she never had a script. But as soon as she got Ai's name she had a script ... So that's why she studied her because acting is different from theater . In theaters you have to be perfect because it's live there is no chance to take a break or take a second shot. And sometimes if you forget the script you have to make the script aligned with the scene so that's why theatrical characters have to dig deep into the scene and thus they have to study a character thoroughly and become the character themselves
13:41 kinda agree on some level. Like yea I get that you’ll be sad but like aren’t I the one who’s suffering enough that death sounds great at that moment? Why is it that I should push all my pain down and “deal with it” because it’ll make you feel better about yourself.
27:58 XDDDD But it's common for actors, tho? The more you understand a character you are, the better you can perform. 28:25 and no it's not XD 29:45 He's gonna be "submissive and breedable", as I would call it 🤣🤣
I may just have a warped sense of it, but I have always felt suicides are the most impactful on the ones around the person. It has always seemed like a very selfish way out when someone is dealing with some major things. I know it seems harsh by even saying that, but if the person does go through with the act, and succeeds, it isn't the person that did it that has to deal with the aftermath. It is everyone that loved them that the burden was shifted to. I do get the sentiment of "walking on eggshells" around someone that just attempted something like that, and I do not know what would be the best course of action and it probably changes from person to person, but I always felt that person needed it drilled into their head them being alive also matters to their friends and family. Got to open up about major issues like that, so many people are dealing with really tough things and if you don't think you have the friend group or family support to help, there are many online and the suicide hotline that would drop everything to help out someone reaching out for help. Not everyone is shitty in this world, there are a ton of good people out there even if you don't know any right around you.
I'll also add, if you are dealing with something that bad where you reach that desperation, people just hugging you may not be enough. The girl obviously knew her mom cared for her but didn't want to be a burden. She didn't slap her because she wanted to make it about herself, it was a slap of why didn't she talk to her. She wanted to share the burden that she was going through.
Aqua mentioned before in ep 5 when Yuki got him open up indirectly about Ai that he can't say what exactly his feelings for Ai are and not sure if romantic. He never addressed Ai as a mom (unlike Ruby) just called her Ai and as her reincarnation kid didn't want to see her in a perverted way, like when he fixed her shirt to not expose her undergarments. So at least can say he has an admiration type of love for Ai. Perhaps more to unpack with that later down the line in the story for him to move on from his grief for Ai after her death, which seems to be related to center of his character arc - will his obsession with revenge completely consume him for an unhappy end or will he find more purpose in his new life for himself?
I'm totally with you on trying to parse out Aqua's emotions about romance, and the intersection of that with his thoughts about Ai. I guess I'm kinda left thinking that his view of the opposite sex as a whole is kinda overshadowed by his all encompassing admiration of Ai? It really seems like he has no interest in girls at all, and thus when asked about the ideal girl, he responded in the only way he could honestly give an answer, which was platonically. Maybe it's just well wishing on my part to think that he never saw her as a romantic ideal (for the numerous ways of fucked up that that would be), but it seems to me more like idolizing and admiration that he felt for her. With her death while he still held her in such perfect regard, she genuinely became a martyr that warped his world view. Idk, I just hope we get to see the therapy sessions where he works this shit out, lol.
Nah, please don't misunderstand. She's not exactly obsessed with him but in a way she will show her gratitude later on that may seem questionable (i will not spoil any more than this). lol But yeah, it's how she works as a theatrical actress by using method acting to copy a certain character to a T. It may seem creepy or baffling to some however it is a pretty common method for actors when they want to perfectly emulate someone.
Your point about the people working on the show deserving to take blame for Akane's situation is the exact thing Aqua was threatening him with. "It sure would look bad for the show if it came out that the footage was intentionally edited to make her look bad. And if it came out that you did nothing to help the situation after you knew how bad it was, they might even get mad at you." As soon as Mem-Cho said Ai from B Komachi, Aqua was like, "Shit, I let too much of myself slip through the lies." I don't think Akane is obsessed with Aqua or that there's any risk of her becoming a stalker. She is just a very diligent character actor. We saw how studiously she takes notes, studies, and practices in the last episode. Plus, she is known as a very talented actress in the world of theater. I think her saying she wanted to do something nice for Aqua meant that she that since she were playing a character, she wanted to play a character that Aqua would like. Especially because if his ideal woman really is Ai, she is dead and doesn't exist anymore. Aqua is definitely shocked and caught completely off guard. He has put Ai on such a high pedestal that he can't imagine anyone coming anywhere near to her. And then he hears his name spoken in a way that he hasn't heard in over 10 years. Ah-koo-waa I think the reason that Aqua is so hung up on Ai is because he never had a chance to process his feelings for her and figure out what they were. He really got to know different sides of her from completely different angles. He was an obsessed fan, then he got to know the girl underneath as her doctor from the outside looking in, experienced her love as a mother loves her child, got to admire her dedication from her inner circle, and finally saw her soul laid completely bare in her final moments. There are very few people that you get to know on that level in life.
Akane poor l am happy for her l like bad foe her mom
You're absolutely right
Yeah I was thinking about that afterwards.
Also, the method thing! I completely forgot that some actors do that! I agree, she did go full method.
Exactly, on point
Aikane has arrived! Honestly it's so much better when you notice how eerie it kinda is when Akane's VA is able to mimic Rie Takahashi's take on Ai as far as cadence and intonation. Which even goes further to illustrate just how talented Akane is
True, at first I thought Rie Takahashi take over of Akane voice but it's not
13:50 I think it's less of Yuki trying to impose her feelings on Akane, and more of her trying to give her a wake-up call that there are people she can always talk to, and that that decision of hers was the last one she should have made. She's showing her that she cares, which means the world to someone who has been ostracized by the general public.
Akane is not creepy. She is an actress simply researching a role to play. That is what she does best.
Ya all the actors and actresses in this series act different. Akane is a method actor. That is what they do.
Nono, it's creepy. She's impersonating his mother to an "uncanny valley" extent. It's biologically wired into humans that it's creepy, lol. Method acting isn't creepy when it's used for fictional or historical characters... the same can't be said when it was someone you were close to.
@@Alellion No
@@Alellion She doesn't know it's his mom 💀 She's not close to Ai, she was just using her as inspiration for "Aqua's ideal girl".
Yee she Queen
Oh nonono not just a method actress… you will see
@LUPYX She is but She also likes Aqua to the point of well.... I think you know
The fact that her deductive and analysis skill is so good that she's able to interpret Ai not how she was in the stage, but how she was behind the scenes is both scary and shocking, Akane was able to show something that not even the public knew about Ai, something that only those close to her (her kids and the producer) knew. She IS a genius at acting, dedicating into studying the character in the most insignificant details and even guessing things that weren't showed.
Bruh she is legit more efficient than L
Yeah I agree. Maybe anime exaggerates what actions people do, but people really need a wake up call like that sometimes.
Fr ur friends are the ones that slap you back to reality
I swear when I used to be so deep in my own shit, a slap on the cheek from my mother literally snapped me out of it . Sometimes you literally can't hear sh*t when you're drowning in your own depressing thoughts. That slap literally brought me back to life, and was in no way intended to hurt me. Some people do need it, and I'd appreciate this channel more if Awake tend to be more open minded in that every people deal with things differently .
@@w3t_wlpes yes your right she good ferind
Sometimes violence is the option, lol.
Bu of course it should be the last one and not always will work.
yea, Akane is a method actor. they study the role they're performing to the point they can slip in and out of an entirely different personality sometimes!
She’s a master at method acting. Famous actors like Christian Bale and Heath Ledger do this. It’s a normal acting method relax
😢l feel sad for her when she cry for her mother 😢
@@اميرمادرا me too, her voice actress is v talented.
Christian Bale and Heath Ledger were never Sherlock Holmes.
My friend once said , "this world would be better without me, so i must keep living".
i think the emotions you were talking about in Aqua's expression didn't include "creeped out" at all. in-awe, amazed, hopeful, or like he's just seen someone he thought was dead walk into the room.
Yes. And he also got surprised because he was sure that nobody could come close to the level of Ai performance
I just know I'm meeting mine when I'm on the verge of dying then
The statistics prove soulmates are not a thing. Especially in the west.
Imagine what kind of genius we have lost if Aqua was not there.
Now imagine how many talented people we have lost without anyone there to save them.
"You can't intimidate AI."
Akane: Bet

why would you intimidate Ai? She suffered enough! :o
Couldn't agree more 👍👍
Its amazing that Akane bounced back and that she showed us her true acting skills and what she can do.
I get your point, but sometimes you gotta slap someone to snap them back into reality.
It's just so rare seeing Aqua being so dumbstruck with how calculating he usually is, he really thought "Yeah, feel free to try it, you will never be Ai." 😂
Also, cool Fushi tshirt! 👍
I think the way she research is like reading a script and getting into character. Besides there is no script writer to help her. And yeah she might have figured out the mastermind Aqua was looking for.
All hail Doga Kobo. They animated this ep so damn good. Best girl show her talent💪. Too sad we have to wait 2 more weeks for new ep 😭.
Two weeks? Well it seems like it's time for me to go and buy the manga.
@@Daimah yep! No ep next week
todays tangent at the start was funny af. I normally skip parts of beginnings of reactions but this was pleasant.
I can say, tears are contagious, as soon as you started tearing up, I can feel myself tear up
Your nose scab could've been a conversation starter!! Lool.
Also I really hope Aqua doesn't get offended by Akane's imitation.
She just got a role to play and she is going to do the BEST FRIGGIN JOB she can
Girl u kept pause the video when the show about to explain it 😂
Yeah the slap was not ok... also no she isn't a stalker, think about it method actors need this level of information because their intention is to virtually BE that person.
(Tea or something warm can get their voice back to normal)
The creepy music when she was researching made me also think she was leading it into an obsession or stalking.
I am a manga reader. At 28:42 your assumption are 90% right😅
What you see here is called the Stainslavinky method. The method is an actor training system made up of various different techniques designed to allow actors to create believable characters and help them to really put themselves in the place of a character.
She's talented, and she's professional theatre actress, so don't worry, she does this all the time for each character she plays
True friends > family :)
That's what a friend should do. A slap to the face, when I didn't realized that I made a big mistake.
Aqua doesn’t matter. Akane has been always like this. A gifted method actor.
Imagine Akane Imitating Ayanokoji 😶
the slap is a wake up call. A well deserved one. Sometimes, that is what is needed
I’m sure Akane does that with ALL the characters she plays.
Im a japanese so im 100% certain of what i say
I hope everyone who care about her, and for the title of the show likes this so she could notice this...
12:59
BRO PUT PASSION IN SLAP THAT LMAOOOO
I wouldn't say Yuki was *right* to slap Akane, but it was *fitting.* After all this all started with Akane hitting Yuki in the face, now they're even!
Just to clarify akane is doing a specific type of acting When she was doing everything with Ai's research. Some actors and actresses do this exact thing so they can fully emody the role they are playing. Especially if the character they're playing is based off a real person.
Disregard saw someone else explain this already and that afterwards you thought of the same thing. Sorry
Is Akane best girl? A topic of heated debate.
Is Akane best detective? YES.
akane is not creepy is just method acting, look out for actos like robert de niro, dicrapio or christian bale, they do everything to put into their character shoes
yup she dont deserve the slap since they not really willing risk help her earlier when she suffer abuse enough to end normal people life
i know aqua manage to atleast save her last minute
but they can actually help her earlier if they really friends
instead of just watch at the side till she end herself
Literally felt like Ai came back to life
14:16 It’s really not that deep.
27:50 this is why she’s such a good actress. She actually does her research
28:00 i think in theater some actors take understanding of a character they are playing on next lvl that's why it show she prodigy in theater, not sure about her obsession with Aqua
She's an analyst, not a researcher.
Lots of good points. Great reaction, thanks!
No. We not heading to stalker route.
Poor Aqua 😅
Yeah I get the whole snap her out for it thing but I’m pretty sure aqua did that already …..
@@Awake_Productions Yea, true Aqua did that already. It's 20/20 hindsight tho on Yuki's part. The viewers know though so its a form of dramatic irony
even if aqua got her to calm down and she realized that she was making a mistake, she's still very much so depressed. she says she's still scared and until aqua and the rest of them put up the behind the scenes video, she was hiding away in her room. the slap, in the moment, isn't solely meant to vent frustrations, but to get akane's attention and hopefully get her to take in that there are people that care.
@@ZainKanekosadly a slap isn’t usually enough to do that and I’ve personally seen it do more damage than good.
i was gonna post a hepful comment, this morning but I'm fucking tired👍
night night
god bless you✟
I wouldn't have slapped a friend in that circumstance, though among guy friends, smacking sense into someone isn't a terrible thing.
Great episode, Love the reaction. Aqua was amazing in this episode and Akane is a great actress after all. 👍
28:25 and no it's not XD
29:45 He's gonna be "submissive and breedable", as I would call it 🤣🤣
I may just have a warped sense of it, but I have always felt suicides are the most impactful on the ones around the person.
Akane is just like Jared Leto you know. Gotta become the caracter even if it makes you look weird af
Character research is very heavy when it comes to acting. So when it comes to Akane isn't to far away of what some actors do.
omg i love your shirt!!
nahhhh akane really said "i can be your mommy if you want👉👈😊"
And if it came out that you did nothing to help the situation after you knew how bad it was, they might even get mad at you."
As soon as Mem-Cho said Ai from B Komachi, Aqua was like, "Shit, I let too much of myself slip through the lies."
I don't think Akane is obsessed with Aqua or that there's any risk of her becoming a stalker.
Ah-koo-waa
I think the reason that Aqua is so hung up on Ai is because he never had a chance to process his feelings for her and figure out what they were.
When the new episode of Oshi No Ko drops 13:02
And no, she's not creepy, it's just what method actor does...
I guess this show really speaks to youtubers or anyone in the public light really.
