I am willing to bet that there are thousands of unique and engaging scripts sent to film/tv producers, but they're so stuck in their ways, always trying to play things safe that we only get to see the generic ones....and that's why modern day fiction is so sterile.
Sorry to be a party pooper, but the atrocious soundtrack made me press the pause button about 1 second in. I don't want to have my monitors ruined by poor audio.

Oh I'm sure that happens, but I'll bet there are even more reasons than just that one.
