In 2015, I played my first ubisoft game "Child of Light", it's an RPG game about a young girl's journey to save her father in a fantasy world. It is one of the best games I've played: it has astonishingly beautiful music/graphics/world design and intriging/smart combat system. Usually in RPG games there are some boring quests/annoying enemies encounters that irritates me. But I can say I enjoy every moment when playing child of light. The funny thing is that if if you check the story plots/characters, the game fits exactly the DEI/WOKE agenda. So I just find it so ironic that Ubisoft is able to (or was able to, to be precise) make enjoyable games that actually promotes diversity/"female power" or whatever you would call it.

Yeah. From what I gather, that's a crux of the Japanese complaints. It made sense, because in the past they've always been pretty good (though that's been sliding a lot since Origins), at least in getting all the little details right. What they've done with AC Shadows is utterly shameful, though.

While Yasuke definitely did exist, to my knowledge all the "experts" that claimed he was a samurai have essentially been forced to admit that that's opinion only. There's no hard evidence that he was. There's also no hard evidence that he wasn't, but it seems pretty unlikely, and it's much harder, if not impossible, to prove a negative.
As for his history during his time in Japan, I very much doubt that the kinds of things he'll be shown doing will be at all historically accurate. Saving villages and all that? There probably would be some record of that.
Now, don't get me wrong, I've known about Yasuke for decades (I won't claim to be a historian, but I had a huge "samurai & ninja" phase when I was a kid and read every book on them I could get my hands on), and if Ubi got anything right it's that he's a very interesting and mysterious figure. I fully would have expected him in the game in some capacity given when they were setting it. I think they should have made him the Assassin NPC mentoring the Japanese protagonists, personally, like Basim was to Eivor in Valhalla. The Japanese like him a lot too, yet popular sentiment over there seems to be very negative towards AC Shadows. Why do you think that is?
Thing is, no other AC game has ever had a historical figure as the PC. We've _always_ been in the role of someone native to the setting (yes, even ACIV...there were a lot of Welsh pirates in the Caribbean), but as soon as the "woke" idiots and Ubisoft saw a black man they had to jump at the chance. He's a prop to them, a big old virtue signal.
Add on everything else they got wrong, like the floor mats, etiquette, seasons, architecture...the list goes on and on...and it's so shameful and disrespectful. For all the talk from people like the ones who made this game about how important "#Inclusion" and "#Representation" (not the same things as inclusion and representation) are, they sure as hell didn't seem to care enough Japan to represent its people or it's culture very accurately.
I imagine the response would be very different from the "woke" crowd if Ubi had failed this miserably with a game set during the Spanish Conquest and featuring an Aztec warrior as the protagonist (great setup if you want white people to be the baddies). And if they want black protagonists so bad, Africe is a huge place with a rich history all of it's own...I would have loved a AC: Zulu Kingdom game back when Ubi wasn't garbage! Man, that'd would have been awesome.

Looking at Ubisoft's lifetime stock on Google to me paints a clear picture. They were always down in the gutter until 2014, when the published South Park The Stick of Truth and released Assassin's Creed Black Flag. Their stock grew for a year only to start to dip again, but then in 2017 they published The Fractured But Whole, and in 2018 they released Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Farcry 5, what I understand to at least be considered good. And of course in 2019 the released The Division 2.
Basically, for 3 years that had some solid released. Stock started to dip again but then the pandemic happened, which rose it again. Granted that was like, every gaming company I think. And now with all that over, and Ubisoft back to releasing trash, yeah it's going down once more, and hard.
This feels more like an equalizing. They had some peaks which were uncharacteristic of them, and now they're heading back down. It's like when you completely guess on tests and then 2 times you guess right to like a 90. They learned nothing and are continuing to guess, and are back to failing. I'm not surprised, I've never heard anyone talk good on Ubisoft ever, even when they peaked in stock.

They have never matured emotionally beyond 12 years old as a result, so the only go-to reaction to someone criticizing them is lash out violently. What an absolute boss!
This gentleman puts out the vibes that classic developers once had. I've been looking over his channel and content and listening to his take on various gaming topics and this one was just powerful!
Hearing his speeches and takes feels like the days when we had developers who CARED about their craft instead of an agenda and eyes on harvesting revenue with minimal effort.
THIS is what we need in the industry- More of this guy and those like him....And less in purple haired future cat ladies and emotionally confused individuals who despise the very industry they are working for.....
Recently, they "woked" the art of legendary Akira Toriyama by changing images, and who knows what else these "consultants" have tampered with that has yet to be seen in the upcoming DQ3 remake. This is disrespectful, especially so soon after his passing. He would have NEVER signed off on this woke stuff imo.
Similarly Yoshitaka Murayama, the creator of Konami's fan-favorite RPG series Suikoden and the head of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes studio Rabbit & Bear Studios, has passed away on Feburary 6 at the age of 54 (My age as well. Depressing) and they IMMEDIATELY set about altering his work to "appeal to the modern audience". An audience that does NOT exist. From all I have seen of the late great Murayama, he loved the games and the artform and could care LESS about politics or checking boxes. And they disrespectfully tarnished his legacy anyways. Thankfully it was subtle enough, and their was enough of Murayama's essence in the final product that it didnt become a disaster....But it easily could have, if they would have had more time to tamper.
If something drastic doesn't change, these unhinged radicals are going to drive this industry straight into the ground.
There are old series I would love to see get a revival, but ONLY if they are true to the spirit of their creators and honor the memories of those we lost along the way who had the vision in the first place.

The only source of Yazuke is from a "historian" Called Thomas Lockley. He is literlly the author of the wikipedia page of yazuke. He does not have any real proof that yazuke was a samurai. Independent creators are the last bastion for true creativity. This applies to any medium, be it film, comics, television, and video games. Of course there will always be exceptions to this rule, but in general, this is where we are now. I'd rather give my money to independent creators that strive to produce good products, usually labors of love. I'm done with the "corporatized" entertainment community. You know, the ones that make trash, and then turn around and blame/attack the audience/consumer when it inevitably fails. It's just pure insanity at this point.

Truth is, you have nothing to apologize for. Your generation have done well to train and teach, sometimes it's the younger generations that want to have their own way or too scared to speak up out of fear for retaliation.
Edit: PS; as a student, you should not fear of teachers who scold you, because they at least had the best interest of their students in mind. It's teachers who abandon their students that makes it deadlier, because at that point, the students are not worth their time to help. Your closing line at the end of the video radiates the image of a disappointed teacher who gave up on his students after seeing how far they had fallen.

I am 100% sure, if AssCreed Shadows bombs, they'll blame the "players", because accountability is their kryptonite. This "never my failure" is the main reason why triple-A games nowadays are mostly garbage: because such mentality means they don't want to learn from their mistakes, thinking that they're infallible, thinking that their flopped garbage is flopped not because of their incompetence, but the consumers is to blame for that. And so, they make another flopped garbage again, and again and again, never learning from each failure, over and over
