@kraj35 Of Course it is a country! It has its own army, governor, bank, post code, flag, territory, newspaper, train station, government, population and anthem! It even has its own independece since the Lateran Treaty. What else does it needs to be a country?
@MrBigfoothunter3 Yeah, I know they do. My point is that nobody has Latin as his/her native language from the very beginning - and yet the Vatican uses it as an official language :) That's what I find interesting :)
@kraj35 People live there, they are religious people but they are people. They work on religious issues and religious organizations. They don't have family picnics, because they dedicated themselves to God and they they weren't forced to do it. For all purposes the Vatican became a country like the other countries since its independece. It is written and can't be undone. And when you insulte the Vatican, you are not just insulting a country, you are insulting the World's biggest religion
Of course it's appropriate to call Vatican City a country. Because if it wasn't it would be a part of another country (per example: Italy). And if the Holly See was part of Italy two things could happen: the Italian government could control the Catholic Church (unnaceptable, [not by political reasons]) or the Pope would control Italy (it would be much better). In conclusion: if the Vatican wasn't a country things would be very different from what they are now.
@macarthur97 Of course their are a different country, it is the best country of all! I agree that main language is Latin. That's fine, why not? Long live to the Pope! God save the Pope!
Long live Pope Francis and RIP John Paul II
I am not Catholic, but I love this sound of this song.
Longue vie au pape François Ier que dieu bénisse tout les humains de tout les pays Amen ! 🇫🇷🇻🇦
I didn't know micro Nations have anthems

The celibate prohibits the Pope and Catholic priests and such to have children or to marry.

@Dzongka it's not a nation. it's a state. the state of the holy see. since the XIX century, people can't easily distinguish both.

As well as open up to Scientific Reasoning, as well as open up to the Reformation, as well as open up to the Star of David, and the Crescent Moon.
@james16181001 Yeah, but it's an "Elective Monarchy", different from those that are inherited.
