I sang this to my son the first time I held him in the NICU. He was born three months early and spent 100 days in the hospital. After 6 surgeries, and many scares that left me feeling like I would leave the hospital without my baby, he came home. He went from 1 pound, 9.6 ounces, to leaving the hospital weighing 6 pounds 4 ounces, and is a happy, intelligent three year old who loves to play and sing.

First I listened to Phil Collins version, then I just had to see if there is a female version, and lo and behold there is, sung by Celtic Woman, one of my favorites. It is so perfect for the story I am trying to write, and I can tell that a lot of people are moved by this song for whatever reason personal to them. While I've never had anything in real life to make me feel this way, this is exactly the feelings I've been trying to convey in my story. I am so very glad to have found this song, and to have found the Celtic Woman version of it!

This one for the sweetness of her voice, and the Phil Collins version because of both the sound of it and the sentimental fact that he wrote it for his own son (and it was perfect for when it played in "Tarzan" :).
This song is gradually becoming one of the best and most peacefullest songs I've ever heard, even after only hearing it a few times.
