I wanted to add to this theory by saying that pharaohs were also buried in temples with their riches. That’s why you can find gold, diamonds and gold apples. Also they were buried with scrolls/books that had spells on them to get them through trials on their way to the afterlife. Could these be enchantment books?

This is what I was thinking too
I always thought the creepers were made by ancient players to serve as terraformers. I mean luring a creeper to a hill and detonating it is one of the easiest ways to clear land. The fact that iron golems don’t attack them also ties into this because players wouldn’t instruct their guards to kill a valuable mining machine, the same way you wouldn’t instruct a tank to shoot an excavator
I think if they did, they only improved or manipulated it, not making it from scratch. If they really built it as a tool, they wouldn't have made it try to stand so close to them before exploding.
And no, they can't be malfunctioning. There are too many of them for that to be true.
Fun fact that you can put a beacon in a desert temple. And a beacon can be crafted from a nether star.
@@noahgamer6510fun fact, shut up 12 year old

They... Still are...
String is more used like hair in the minecraft world. Upon killing a strider, they drop string because they have wispy hair. With cats, them dropping string as a gift or as their loot could represent a hairball or whiskers. String is also able to be turned into wool blocks, which wool is sheep hair. Thus string as loot in the same chest as rotten flesh and bones most likely also represents hair.
I was guessing bandages, following the mummy analogue. And that cats just like playing with string, so it can sometimes be found on them.
Imagine a children's game allowing to murder a cat and use it's whiskers as raw material...
@@ooi97 mm, paper would have been better if they wanted to convey bandages because it looks similar. Though I guess mummy wraps are linen, and that’s made out of woven fibers, so you could be correct
For the cat thing, there are many other questionable mob drops that don’t seem appropriate for a kids’ game, such as turtles dropping a bowl when struck by lightning or even just cows dropping leather. You don’t even need to tan it before using it. You just take their raw skin and make armor out of it!
on the nose tbh
Oh, the spawner dungeons. Graves? The spawners would be protection against robbery?
I have something to back up this theory. Iron golems don’t kill creepers. It would be strange if you made guards that kill themself right?

Theory: some of the fossils in the nether point towards the stronghold. The fossils are other ender dragons that invaded the nether and over world. They destroyed the parts of the nether fortress and parts of bastions where the ancient civilization lived. The dragons breath turned the crimson forest into warped forest. They were chased back to where they came from and some were killed. This left the fossils and explains why there isn’t more then one dragon yet the dragon still has an egg. This also explains how there is more then one dragon head.
I mean, the dragon could always be a species that has only one gender and can reproduce asexually...
Maybe they all have the ability to lay an egg and then fertilize it, but there are only two of them because their life cycle is weirdly timed and they can only have one child in their life... Maybe each dragon has its own little realm, maybe the ancient builders hunted them to the brink of extinction...
There could be many reasons why there is only one dragon and egg...
also i think the game crashes if you try to let the dragon into the nether?
Oh yeah this is big brain time
Good point
@@RandomGuy0400 that kind of explains why there is only one dragon and one egg, because the eggs produce dead children, sadly, also some lizards in real life do that too.

@@QWERTY-df5vk just you
@@QWERTY-df5vk probably just because of the chiseled sandstone looking like a creeper
@@samsunguser3148 I dont think it is
Here's another very important detail I thought of:
If Illagers are descendants of the ancient civilization, that would mean villagers are too. You can find connections to this inside of villages. For one, villages are the only places in the game that contain stray cats. Also, creepers are one of the only common hostile mobs that iron golems avoid.
Iron Golems avoid Creepers??? That might be proof that the Creepers were connected to the Ancient Builders just like the Iron Golems are! Both constructs to attack or defend. The Golems programed to avoid Creepers and the Creepers programed to avoid cats.
I wonder what made the Creepers go rogue though???
@@themisfitowl2595 maybe the creeper was a failed creation, plus it kills itself to attack so its not very productive, hence why the ancient civilization kinda threw em away or something, meanwhile the iron golem was better as a protector
@@themisfitowl2595 Matpat already showed Iron Golems were pre created for protection by the ancient peoples. This could be enforced by a theory of mine that bases off creepers:
If you look at the list of things iron golems attack, it includes many things that they don't see on the overworld. Including tons of other mobs. This enforced Matpat's theory that they have been made to protect the ancient people by the ancient peoples. This is because villagers don't come under attack from things like blazes so why would iron golems attack blazes if they haven't seen them. So what about creepers.
Well if they have been created by the desert dwelling form of their people, maybe they were only successful with making the creeper after the programming of the iron golem which means it wouldn't see them as a threat whilst zombies, which we assume come from a virus that has been around for eons, are pre programmed as a threat.
thts obviuos.
@@themisfitowl2595 they dont avoid creepers and actually quite the opposite. creepers iron golems and villagers are all friendly to each other and creepers are often found in villages not doing anything

@@the-us1bk Its lore doood understand lore. Gam3 feattures can be lore. i suck at spelling on phone.
Mabey the creepers as their first creation had a few bugs and as a result, they started targeting players instead of mobs
@@nailmanman6146 or maybe the player isn't a part of those ancient builders. That would also explain why the guardians/elder guardians target the player specifically
@@the-us1bk It’s lore don’t you understand? LORE
So, there’s a couple things I’d like to point out.
1. Creepers are not the only mob afraid of cats. Phantoms are as well.
2. The only thing a creeper attacks is the player, unless a skeleton shoots it or something.
3. Cats also hiss, like creepers
I used to think creepers were blind. When a cat hisses, the creeper is scared because it thinks it’s another creeper, as it can’t see that it is indeed a cat.
Actually, I’m pretty sure Creepers stay on target, even if they’re short by Skeletons
yo why the ender dragon going
🐔______
| |
4:27
@@yoshithebear7630 that's true, creepers dont intentionally blow up other mobs even if attacked
That’s a really interesting perspective
I think it’s because cats are mythically travel different worlds and ward off things that could cause damage.
Look at the Ancient Egyptian god Bast (unsure spelling) a cat god who protected Amun-Ra, the sun god, through the underworld.
Cats are still used to ward off nightmares. (Explanations the phantoms running away they’re waking nightmares) So creepers running away my because of that.
I think another plausible reason for creepers to be green and still be made in an active desert is weaponization. The desert dwellers can send out creeper into the world and their green skin acts as a camouflage to their enemies but stick out in the wasteland of their creators.

Very interesting, I do like this explanation for the connection between cats and Creepers. It's so charming to think they just don't want to hurt the cats when they explode.
About the string: the cat theory is good, I think that the string is meant to represent the bandages of mummies or the remains of a mummified beloved pet cat, just an idea but maybe it’s plausible?
Or just spiders like webs in mineshafts
thought the same thing too, or maybe strings in ancient weapons like bows
In the mobestiary, the creeper's tnt is conected to his brain through strings.
@@hillboi5049 cool, that also makes a lot of sense
I think it’s just because they’re mob drops
Zombie- rotten flesh

Theory: Illagers and the ancient civilizations had a war, making the ancient people have to evacuate to other dimensions which connect to your nether and end theories. They tried to build the Warden to stop the Illagers from following them. The Illagers, took their ideas of preserving life, and warshipping cats, as well as the ancient civilization's supplies for the experiments, and tried to continue them, knowing that their population was limited. This also explains why the creepers are hostile to you, even though you are a descendant of the ancient civilization. MatPat it would be so much if you could see this comment :)
only problem is that the ancient builders would be way stronger than illagers. Theres no way a war with illagers would cause a advanced spices to flee to different dimensions, the fact that they can go to different dimensions in the first place shows how advance they were
But that’s just a theory.... a GAME THEORY!!!
Fun fact: the Illagers might be rebels or an empire
You should put this on his reddit
My guess is that they might be a vassal race of the ancient builders, they might also be the the one that encouraged the ancient builders to pursue immortality in the first place
Not to mention that the Chinese discovered gunpowder when trying to find the elixir of life.

Did you know that one Chinese emperor drank mercury because he thought it would make him immortal?

@@micahslash alchemist also believe mercury is the ingredients of philosopher stone
That's a very good point
i have an theory how the creepers appeared CH1: so there was a war between ancient players they were fighting until one of them got exploded they lost both of their arms and almost lost their legs but olny squares were left and his rib cage was open so a tnt fell inside. CH2: As everything was burning the dust covered the guys body and he slowly started to sink underground. But... there was a totem next to him rusted and missing an eye. and it was so close to the guys body until... it touched him. CH3: After it touched him he turned into a creature after 10 minecraft years he was covered in moss. CH4: One night Steve was fighting mobs, as he was fighting he encountered a mob he has never seen before he used his shield and then the mob.... KABOOM it exploded there were particles that looked like the creeper. And when they fell more of them started to appear. And thats how i think creepers appeared (Note: Sorry i didn't add some stuff)
Another point id like to make, building on to the illigers copying the ancient peoples actions is the totem of undying. In ancient Egyptian culture there would be dolls and idols quite commonly used and worshiped, similar to the totem of undying. Either the totem is made by the illigers copying them, or the ancient people made totems and they were stolen from the illigers befor or after their extinction.

Yep! Me neither! You are cool, Josh Kirkfield :)
I have. I like to look at a structure and connect it to the loot it gives.
I think one reason why could be that the chests are single. You'd have to fold and shove the body in that thing, not exactly respecting the dead.

The artificial creeper theory has to be correct and I have a theory of why the ancient builders did it. They may have wanted better security than a booby trap that destroys the valuables it's protecting when triggered, so they probably designed the creeper to be an extra set of protection but they managed to escape the deserts and explore the world. This means that for the builders the creepers ignored them but they attack us because they view us as hostile since they haven't been explicitly told that we are safe.
The string in the chests could also be a reference to mummies wrapped with string, considering that the chests do have dead bodies in them.
yes, because dead Egyptians were mumified with their treasures
It could also be hair perhaps
Matpat did say cats were buried along with egyptian royalties for protection. So needless to say. It's still possible that it's a cat too in that chest. Quite poggers

Something i just remembered regarding the cat connection to ancient Egypt is that in earlier versions cats were just tamed Ocelots, Which are essentially the kind of cats that domesticated the ancient Egyptians.
Only after more development they added cats and made them separate from Ocelots which coincidentally further tells the real world story of cats domesticating/enslaving humans.

“Creepers don’t run away from cats because they’re scared of them, but because they want to protect them”
Was NOT a take I expected but oh boy am I thrilled to have it
there is a slight problem with this as creepers try to kill us , when we seem to be descendants of the builders , but it could be that since they seem to be robot bombs , maybe the illagers could have broke something? so they would be kind to villagers and illagers as it still recognizes them as builder descendants , well maybe just villagers , BUT they would see other descendants like us as a threat and try to protect , or they just forgot how their masters looked like , and would mistake us as a threat , or their workings failed causing them to be slightly aggressive
He didn't even mention how the "totem of undying" has a uncanny resemblance to the Ankh
I just noticed if
Totems are completely part of the lore in some way. They are made of gold and have emeralds for eyes. They are in a position like a cross. They look like baby villagers. There is something off about them. And I think MatPat should make a theory about gold, and it’s magical powers.
@@superdantheminecraftman8905 that and only emeralds and gold are used as some sort of currency through out the minecraft world
@@jacklazer2301, on top of that, why is it that you can only get a totem from an evoker? One reason may be is that the evokers were experimenting with a *deactivated* totem of undying, as the totem doesn't save them from death, until the player kills the evoker.
Now, why did the totem of undying activate after the death of the evoker? Simple, the evoker's soul.
The totem of undying uses souls not to revive a player, rather to replace the spot of the dead user with that of another soul
Another suspicious thing is the name of this undying totem bringer, the evoker.
Why is it called the evoker. Well, in the religious sense, to evoke is to call up a spirit or deity. And what deities known for doing, controlling life and death. Thus, the evoker is an abbot of the wooden mansion, working to find the answers to life and death
To add, look at the evoker's robes. Those look awfully similar to the villager's clothing, no duh. But, there is speculation that the villagers' clothing is based off of men's clothing of ancient Hebrews.
As Kronk would say, It's all coming together.
