Oddly enough, that move reminds me of Frank West's Disembowel move in Dead Rising: Sends your organs to the shadow realm and just nonchalantly shoves you away. Except Frank's instantly kills you.

Candid. 1:57, Jacky’s backflip while back turned doing damage facing away shocks me that the hit box still registers… same with Sarah’s front flip 3K (if I remember notation) at 3:12 is the same hit box mechanic too… and again at 4:39.
I remember back when I played vanilla VF4 and didn't liked it because it didn't played like tekken. But when Sega announced Final Showdown, I gave the game another shot, learning how to actually play the game, and liked it. Even got VF4EVO later down the line, and actually preferred it over Tekken. (Still great games at the end of the day.)
I believe so many people can relate to this. My childhood definitely consisted of Virtua Fighter 4 & VF4Evo and Tekken 4 & 5 back and forth. Both series had great music and stages. There were more things to do on VF (Kumite & Quest mode) though. Which I believe inspired Tekken devs to introduce customization for Tekken 5. It’s just the truth.

I'm going to assume this is some sped up mode, but I'm still not sure what those big numbers on the screen since they clearly aren't a combo counter.
The last two rounds of Sarah vs Bryant have gotta be some of the most impressive fights ever! I think your Vs series is better than your Arcade playthroughs. Hopefully we get another VF versus match. Maybe to commemorate the new VF announcement? Amazing work!!!

I liked that the computer in this game was actually programmed properly enough to win matches and keep up with a tas run that’s rare in fighters even today.

TAS in this case means TOOL ASSISTED SUPERPLAY. this means what you’re seeing is 1 person fighting himself but he’s able to do so frame by frame. almost like an animation of sorts. it’s even more impressive. but yea a cpu is not capable of moving this way. this is why you see the rounds going up evenly and you see dramatic rounds where it results in a draw sometimes. it’s all intended for maximum entertainment value
