    I come from the land of LinkECU (I know that's a bad word around here) but I thank you for changing the way the menus work with the new "node" system it makes a lot more sense to me, I can't wait to try this new VCM would be cool to see a "club" version or cut down version for basic track/drift cars with fewer outputs/inputs to bring the cost down.

    NEXUS Programming Software (NSP) is the brand new software used for programming NEXUS Series devices like the new NEXUS R5. NSP is the most powerful, sophisticated and versatile software we’ve ever developed so it will take a few videos to go through all the different functions but we have to start somewhere right?
    Let us know which function you would like to see covered in detail first.

    Interested in data logging and log viewing. I feel that the data log functionality on the elite series is lacking. The need to export a log before viewing, especially when exporting is slow, just kills usability. I want to be able to be street tuning, make a change, tail a live log to see a trace in higher resolution, then change some parameters, all without having to export a log. If it could be done within the same program, even better.

    • @TheProPilot
      @TheProPilot 4 года назад

      THIS! I love love love the way Infinity does this all in one program - all while datalogging EVERY channel that is operative. I sure hope the R5 can do this! It really cuts down time being able to scroll through the plot and see where on the calibration I was - live.

      I am about to remove my Haltech ecu and replace with a modified stock ecu because of how dissapointed I am with the data logging on the Haltech NSP software. I mean, checking a log, then having to guess where on the map the area you want to change? Are we in the 90s? The hardware and basic firmware is great, powerful and lots of features, but the software to do anything with it is hopeless and frustrating. Spent 2.8k setting up my car with the Haltech and couldnt be more dissapointed.

    If I'm running a mechanical fuel pump, but I'm also using an electric fuel pressure regulator, can I use the fuel pump setting on the R5 to send signal to the pressure regulator instead, and if so, can I rename the function to "fuel pressure regulator" instead of "fuel pump?"

    In the ESP software at the main screen when you start the software and update option appears, you had the opportunity of check what is new in the software and firmware updates (The notes), now I want to check the notes of the updates of firmware in the NSP but I can´t find where... Where I can check the notes of each firmware update?

    • @haltech
      @haltech  Год назад

      When an update is available a pop-up window will appear when you launch NSP explaining the update and prompting you to install it. Alternatively you can click on the "update" button (second from the left on the main menu bar). This button will turn green when there's an update available.

      The Elite 750 is definitely not in the same league as the NEXUS R5. If Elite 750 ticks all the boxes for you then the R5 would be an overkill. Stay with the Elite 750 - it's a good unit and we are still going to support and develop the Elite series.

    • @christhorney
      @christhorney 4 года назад

      @@haltech thanks for that, yeah its a little overkill for my setup, but i can defenatly see the benifits of this system over the elite series for more serious builds. it will eliminate so many common issues people have when wiring cars, and even relays and stuff can add up when re doing an entire car, this makes everything so much more simple, hopefully after a few years of development you will have different levels of nexus to offer like the elite series? for people who only need 1 wideband, 1 knock circut, less IO like the injector and ignition outputs? but still incorpirate the body control stuff.

    I am currently in the market for an ecu for my LS2. I was also looking at going with a pmu. The nexus seemed like the perfect thing for my project. There is only 1 thing keeping me from pulling the trigger, there are only 4 25 amp outputs. My car is a factory five 33 hotrod kit car and has limited electric circuits required. I want to use the pmu to power the whole car. My 25 am outputs will be used for, injectors, ignition coils, radiator fan, and Bosch 044 fuel pump. Will the 8 amp outputs be enough for headlight low beam, headlight high beam, left turn signals, right t.s, etc?
    Below are my anticipated circuits. I do not know if this is feasible?
    1, 8A-headlight low beam, tail light.
    2, 8A-headlight high beam.
    3, 8A-brake light.
    4, 8A-left blinker, hazard.
    5, 8A-right blinker,hazard.
    6, 8A-horn
    7, 25A-ignition coils.
    8, 25A-injectors.
    9, 25A-fuel pump Bosch 044.
    10, 25A-radiator fan.
    11, 8A-interior switched 12V. IC-7, interior switches, usb power ports.
    12, 8A-interior constant 12V. IC-7, a few interior lights, key.
    13, 8A-starter solenoid crank signal.
    14, 8A-unused.
    15, 8A- unused.
    16, 8A- unused.
    If anyone thinks what I am proposing would not be advisable please feel free to comment.

    (please click read more! I have a question!)
    Uhhhhhh I might need this for both my race car and my street car. Eliminating all of these extra frail modules is a HUGE win for a guy like me! I had a fan relay die on me randomly. Thank God the shutdown protection did its job just like I programmed! Car was idling while I checked for leaks etc and I didn't notice the efan quit running while it was therein front of me. EEK!!!!
    One feature I'm hoping the R5 software has: I love love love the way Infinity does logging all in one program - all while datalogging EVERY channel that is operative, from every single parameter from the ECU. It really cuts down time being able to scroll through the plot and see where on the calibration I was on every single map and display and channel - live. I sure hope the R5 can do this!

      Hey Mate,
      Allow us to clear up this misconception you have about the new Nexus R5 VCU.
      The R5 has twice the ECU functionality of the ECU you mentioned, and a built-in PDM which is a separate box altogether from that other brand.
      We hope this helps you when comparing the two, as there is literally no comparison.
      Cheers!

Please elaborate when the systems functions are actually seem better and u can have full functionality of wireless, data logging, safety, price and u can even use ur dash unit or whatever unit im just confused on the hype when mine does actually more program wise if haltech has something to add that I dnt I will buy a nexus r5 had a motec m150 and this ecu master does everything plus a few more tricks what else is this nexus r5 capable of that I am missing here???

      @@bnrgtr32radgtr42 bro I nearly had a stroke reading that. it's about the number of inputs/outputs and the pdm side.
      you'd have to buy two emu blacks plus a pmu to be able to do what the nexus does.
