_As always, Coffee Walk is a great place for the car junkie in us all. The difference between Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, and any other auction house is like night and day. Zach's 1970 Challenger resto-mod was something really really special(and the hammer price was well deserved too)._
Dennis you made a great payday out of the fleet you sold. Anyone would be happy if they had even a hundredth of your auction tally sitting in the bank. You have a much too refined taste in vehicles to take a chance at auctions. It would make more sense to promote them online through the dealership and to use full page ads in prosport souvenir programs locally. You need to find those rare folks that can afford and fully appreciate these vehicles for their exceptional pedigree. Your online persona could promote an online dream car matchmaking service for those once in a lifetime finds you seem to dig up almost weekly.
Wow. Dennis you handled that very professionally. I dread to think how much money you lost selling all them cars with no reserve. But I’m sure you still came out on top. 👍🏻🇬🇧

From the beginning of the week until Thursday there were some excellent buys. Some nice Restomods brought for less than it took to build them. But keep in mind too, Barrett-Jackson Hit a Record-Breaking 2024 Scottsdale Auction with $207.6 Million in Total Auction Sales, most in their Company History. A Jeff Hayes, 1967 Corvette Convertible, went for $1.1 million with fees.

Hello, might you be aware of a Friday, May 31, 2024 Great AMC Day car show and race being held at Edgewater Raceway Park, Cleves, Cincinnati Ohio where there will be ( 14 ) of only ( 53 ) every produced 1969 AMC COPO Hurst Super Stock Drag cars ? More than have ever been together in one place in 55 years ! Hope to see you all there.
The downward trajectory continues. Dennis isn't the only one taking a bath at car auctions. It only appears to be a great time to be a buyer. It is folly (imo) to assume the market for classic and muscle cars will rebound. The enthusiasts and their over weight wallets are aging out of the game and there's just not a whole lot of next gens coming up behind. We are witnessing a decades long boom cycle morph into a far less populated niche market.
Totally agree when talking about the market as a whole. I think it's become a very selective market. Most everything is down but it seems restomod older SUVs (Broncos) and trucks are hanging in there.
Probably an indication that the money is tight ,is there still a future in Cars ? The world is a changing, and I don't think people will be flipping EVs and I don't see them as classic collectables, imagine the Auction on a Battery box on the stage that's all they are ,a battery on wheels
Kelcy, 24:04, nice compression Camaro,,, but knocking on the next door will be a 1972 RSSS 350 4 speed posi rear , split bumper that will eat this cars lunch…. You just have not found one yet… They are rare.. With air conditioning… A strike year,, long strike, not many made to order.
Wow that seemed like tough couple days revenue wise but in typical Dennis Collins style you still managed to have fun and bring positive energy to the event. You are a national treasure for the USA and Coffee Walk is a must see every time you post a video. On to the next adventure!👍🏻
@@jtgall1 Exactly, I posted before this is the wrong kind of auction for the cars he had collected. Barrett Jackson if more for PR and glitz. Bringatrailer with a reserve is the way to go with these kind of cars.
I remember the local PD had 2 Javelin police highway patrol cars - In Manitoba, Canada. I recall they had aftermarket skid plates under the engines, likely from a local fabricator, and I recall that they had a reputation for being fast. The PD replaced the one remaining Javelin (other one crashed) in the fall of '76 with a slow 351V8 Ford LTD II sedan... a big step back...

It was a 6 though.
There is little appreciation among those who were not around when they were new of how mundane the 914 and the Ferrari Dino were when introduced.
I've owned a 911S and my buddy had a 914/4; the 914 handled better than the tail-happy 911. 914 was a Volkswagen/Karmann but the 914-6 was a Porsche.
That 914 was restored by a Porsche expert. So that says a lot about it condition when he got it.

Yes. Sold for $113k
I absolutely APPRECIATE DAUGHTER & FATHER RELATIONSHIP! CHEERS TO THE FAMILY UNIT!
Collins brothers,nothing but Class!!taking the ebb,and the flow,in stride
I came here to see that Javelin Trooper car roll across the auction block... man what a cool car !
Wow. Dennis you handled that very professionally. I dread to think how much money you lost selling all them cars with no reserve. But I’m sure you still came out on top. 👍🏻🇬🇧
Pfffttty!!! I wanted that state trooper car!!! 170mph in the 70's.....😳
That is a must have car in any collection!!! Would have been my daily driver!!! 😼 😎
Dennis saying it was a 170mph car was quite a stretch. I doubt a Javelin could attain 130. 125 would be more reasonable. IF it could do that. Police car or not.
It seems like I have the same thought as everyone else. But I'll add, Kelsey is a masterpiece as well. Kudos to her parents. Beauty and class. 👏🏼👏🏼
WTF? The 911’s were a giveaway. Tiger was a gift. And who the hell imagined 914 would go 6 digits? Wow
That was a 914-6 Very rare 914 with a flat six
he didn't sell the Tiger ,,still has it ..
@@modified15r yeah. But a plain vanilla 6. Not a GT. And not anymore HP. than the built 2 ltr VW engine.
@@jonsmith6982 he got a record for low vin white car. And did comfortably w Red car.
Mr Collins I think you did an absolutely fantastic job in trying to get rid of all your cars every single one of them was an absolute beautiful piece of work very sad though you didn't get what you should have gotten for a lot of those cars
Kip. He's in the business of buying and selling cars. He doesn't go to high profile auctions to "get rid" of junk laying around in the yard.
I'm glad to see prices are becoming more reasonable.
With flipping cars, You win some, you lose some…but you get to play the game, and it’s all part of the fun 😎
Exactly!! No risk, no reward
only losers lose some....that was a bloodbath ...hard to watch it was like the battle of Stalingrad Denis got hit with so many rights he was begging for a left
HOPE YOU CAME OUT AHEAD OF THE GAME
I THOUGHT YOU TOOK THEM TO MECUM BUT GUESS YOU DIDNT WANT THE FEES SO WENT CHEAP AND LOST OUT
I just watched a Mecum Auction video and it was also a buyer’s market. I think we are seeing first hand how poorly the economy is going. I feel bad for Dennis because he really has an eye for true one of a kind finds. And he deserves to be rewarded appropriately!
Phew ..it was whirlwind just watching this episode...cant imagine what the actual 4 days where like...enjoyed seeing you and Kelsey having a great time...my daughter is just as special to me...
Wow, I thought the trooper car would bring a whole lot more. I love that car
Javelin's aren't that popular.
Dang a hard couple of days, You guys deserved more for some of those amazing cars. But like you say, the car business ebbs and flows. Cant wait to see what comes next from you. Cheers from Canada.
Wow...those prices were not what I expected to see. Has market dropped in last 2 yrs that much? Kelsey's copo is a 175k car . The 1 of 1 concept shud be a 250k car or more. Unreal. Sorry it was a down year guys. Thx for sharing the ride and better luck in the fall. We all appreciate the content and to view from afar
High five and hug from your daughter: priceless!
What a hobby and way to make a honest living , congratulations Dennis
I can see that you obviously lost your shirt, but I love the video because I absolutely love to see your relationship with your daughter. I hope she’s on more specifically for that reason, love seeing her with her dad❤
That’s why we don’t sell with worldwide auction house.
What a disaster.
Also.
Craig Jackson is a joke, him and his team setup the auction to benefit his buddies and blackball who he doesn’t like.
100% Agree
Totally agree when talking about the market as a whole. I think it's become a very selective market. Most everything is down but it seems restomod older SUVs (Broncos) and trucks are hanging in there.
Yes, the market will never come back. I’ve been hearing that for 50 years in this business lol.
Just really puts on display to be how relaxed the economy is and money ain't cheap right now. People have got it in other places and not in toys.
Probably an indication that the money is tight ,is there still a future in Cars ?
The world is a changing, and I don't think people will be flipping EVs and I don't see them as classic collectables, imagine the Auction on a Battery box on the stage that's all they are ,a battery on wheels
The main thing is that he is having fun spending time with his daughter and making memories.
Another outstanding video! Loved the Hoovie cameo.
Thanks Dennis. Cool. 😎
I didn't think you would ever sell the Sunbeam!
Wow that seemed like tough couple days revenue wise but in typical Dennis Collins style you still managed to have fun and bring positive energy to the event. You are a national treasure for the USA and Coffee Walk is a must see every time you post a video. On to the next adventure!👍🏻
I wouldn’t be working with worldwide again for a whileeeee. What a terrible energy they brought! And the prices reflected that!
Agreed
Is this supposed to be a high end auction? Maybe next time go to mecum.
SC Cobra kit even fiberglass is fine but definitely need a big block
The 1973 porches went too cheap
I know, I don’t get it. They went for half the price of BaT.
Yeah Bring a trailer would have done wayyyyy better
@@jtgall1 Exactly, I posted before this is the wrong kind of auction for the cars he had collected. Barrett Jackson if more for PR and glitz. Bringatrailer with a reserve is the way to go with these kind of cars.
thought the steps were too steep. hahaha.
Dennis would have been better off shipping the Porsches to Europe and selling them there. $100k all day long.
