To the people being sad about the Evo, Ben Collins (The Stig) said in his book that the the police was supposed to destroy the car because it was bought by drug money. Instead the gave the car to Top Gear to have some fun with it. One last ride.

Mine blew when that EVO got destroyed
for those that dont know and are upset about why the car got smashed, it had to be. It was under court orders as it was seized from a drug dealer, so they figured either they leave it to a crusher or destroy it in a manner that entertains everyone

@@Donts_blackwell British law. Unlike US, when criminal assets are seized they are to be destroyed rather than sold.

@@straightbusta2609 I bought it in 2016 and sold it last year, it had underbody rust issues but the guy who I sold it to didn't care. He was looking for a track car and so he didn't worry since it'll prepped for racing. Kind of cool to see the car I spent a decent amount of money on to get it running perfect now surviving it's final days a race car.

I felt the pain deep in my heart, and Im actually a Subaru guy since eternity... Rest in peace my old friend Evo, you didnt deserve this.
I'm sure that a lot of evo fanboys are upset about the evo getting destroyed but it's worth mentioning that this evo probably was never intended to be run on the road ever again and most likely impounded and destroyed. I'm sure there's plenty more on the road that you CAN buy.
I think I read somewhere that the evo used in this show had it's airbags removed, to be honest it sounds like it was used by a drug dealer, which wouldn't surprise me because dealers love evos. If that's the case then it was probably already sentenced to death before this show.
Aphev It's not for sale, it's likely an impounded car that was used in evidence.
Put it this way, it was sentenced to be crushed way before top gear got a hold of it, if anything they did it a favour by driving it for one last time.
It was a drug dealers car the police took it of them because they got it from the money they got from selling drugs

It's been this long and I'm STILL pissed they destroyed that Evo. It barely even had a few thousand miles on the clock, it was almost brand new.
That car just cruises over the rough terrain like it's nothing. Pretty damn cool machine, even when compared to tanks and armoured vehicles it's still impressive. I want one. Shame they cost so much...
