The more I listen to the new album the more I am absolutely fascinated how dancy, moving and driving it is! To me, a fan from the very first song, this is an absolutely brilliant album to listen to, best to be listened LOUDLY with headphones! Birdy sounds so mature on this album!

Paradise Calling
"Paradise Calling" is truly becoming more captivating with each listen! The modern yet refined retro vibe, coupled with the mesmerizing dance moves in the music video, perfectly resonates with the spirit of today's young people, seeking solace and liberation. As the first track of the album, it takes us into this immersive musical journey.
Raincatchers
This song is incredibly pleasing to the ears! If it were entered in the Eurovision Song like rumours said online, it would surely achieve a higher rank than this year's participants. The combination of Kate Bush's mechanical strings and the smoky purple makeup marks a successful transition from an ethereal fairy to a powerful enchantress.
Ruins I
Upon my initial listen, the melody seemed somewhat flat, but as the song progressed, I realized it's another beautifully irregular composition. The further it goes, the higher the emotion and intensity stack up, until it gradually fades away with faint whispers in my ears. This flawlessly bridges the fast-paced ethereal atmosphere of the first two songs to the next intimate slow tune.
Heartbreaker
I'm really tempted to turn "Heartbreaker" into an a cappella piece for my choir - the harmonies and arrangement are brilliantly crafted. Following "Your Arms," its upbeat energy, combined with the stylishly retro visuals, carries the same refined vintage feel. The whimsical and satirical elements in the imagery add a delightful burst of energy.
I Wish I Was A Shooting Star
I first heard "I Wish I Was A Shooting Star" in your live performance video at the Church, and it's evident that the cosmic reverberation and effects truly bring out the essence of the song. The memorable hooks and melodies seamlessly blend together, building up to the grand symphony near the end - it nearly brought tears to my eyes. The closing moments with the intimate solo piano feel like a beautiful portrayal of a fleeting and romantic concept, like a star briefly shining in the midst of a painful life.
Portraits
This song aligns perfectly with my taste! It's no wonder it shares the title with the album - the production quality is top-notch. At first listen, it evokes the comforting sound of your earlier work, yet it incorporates the rhythmic synthesizer beats reminiscent of tracks like "quietly yours" from recent years. The ethereal and atmospheric reverb, along with the guitar, enrich the floating ambiance. It's a fantastic synthesis of the album's overall musical themes, creating a cohesive "portrait" of your artistry.
Ruins II
My anticipation was sky-high after watching the live performance debut of "Ruins II" during the tour. It seamlessly blends your ethereal vocals and impressive technique with memorable continuo elements, making it a truly ear-catching piece. While there's a strong presence of Kate Bush-inspired "enchantress vibes" throughout the album, this song delicately balances a sense of crumbling while holding onto hope. The layering of repeating elements doesn't feel monotonous - despite the ruins, it's filled with the potential of a future.
Automatic
I'm head over heels for "Automatic"! This track, anticipated since the tour, makes me automatically sway to its rhythm - it's a perfect fit for live performances. Despite several repeating elements, each one is so melodious. The culmination of vocalization and orchestrated melody in the final climax adds even more depth to this rhythmic song.
Battlefield
This song really feels like a combination of the electronic elements from this album and the bittersweet piano melodies of your previous albums, evoking the style of your earlier works. Somehow, it seems that "Battlefield" nostalgically harks back to your earlier albums, and it might not quite fit with your current mature and evolved sound. Listening to the entire album, this might be the one track that feels a bit regrettable - the lyrics also seem somewhat distant from your current style. If the instrumentation were simpler, it could bring a better balance to these final consecutive rhythmic tracks.
Tears Don't Fall
The album concludes with a sense of ceremony, ushering in a new sense of hope. Hearing "Tears Don't Fall" performed live in the church was a distinct experience, and it's unlike anything in the official version. Throughout the entire album, you've embarked on a new musical phase, blending exploratory styles from your third album and the folk-like essence of your fourth, while maintaining a unified identity.
