Sung this once at a bar with my pals... Was ran out and banned because some of the women didn't like it. Well worth the laughter that rattled the windows.
I earned my able seaman ticket in a school taught by Tommy Z, a one eyed half Chinaman/half English Boatswain who had sailed on square riggers. I spent 26 years at sea and though it has pretty much ruined my family life, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I retired as a Master Mariner and am permanently ashore now but have so many memories of the adventures that I wouldn't trade for all the gold in Fort Knox.
First time hearing this, had a double take at the puts lotion on it's skin line, then the song pauses at the perfect moment that I said "What?" I had a good laugh for that.
@@jrayproductions7790 Yeah. It wouldn't keep the same feel if sped up for a running cadence. Not to mention the lack of the beat thumps (unless your block is able to sync their running step and land one of their feet hard).
With this as a marching cadence, you'd need every woman in hearing range to be chill with a sense of humor, or your group would get torn into by the higher-ups. R.I.P. the career of whoever was calling cadence.
I’m really tempted to gather some lads for a drinking night and sing this song (change the verses of I once had a lass). I already have 3 verses written down. They might be more vulgar than this!
Love this song but I have to ask... why is Poxy's rendition of "She Moved Through the Fair" not on youtube?! A hundred version of this song and the best version, sung by these hilariously raunchy bastards, is nowhere to be found.
It's from The Silence of Lambs, which is a part of the movie that is disturbing, which is why they pause when singing cause they're looking at the singer likes he crazy, which is why its hilarious!!
Can anybody tell me the name of the one that sings the Silence of the Lambs reference (it puts the lotion on its skin)? The one with the long gorgeous black hair? I've been trying to figure out his name.
I love the pause at the "or it gets the hose again" part.
Especially how they resume as if nothing weird was said.
It be like that sometimes.
Best marching cadence ever. Never asked me to call cadence again after this one.
made it as far as the first bit before being told to fall back in
I made it half to the second
Are you kidding this is the best test of discipline ever!
Its not matter of disciplone...matter of sensitivity people get offended especially civies living on post
@@demiancrtr oh right!
If the Beatles had this song in their repertoire no one could say they were overrated. They'd be undisputed
This popped up in my irish pub songs on pandora. 🤣
flogging Molly for me
Alestorm radio for me

Mine too lmao
Glad I'm not the only one who gladly listens to the Irish Pub Rock station

This really is what sea shanties are like if translated to modern English
Mitchell Line Some are some aren't. This was is a modern raunchy one but there are some older ones.
I'm amazed.im sure there are women dancing all around.the Dubliners

They truly are a great genre of music, really shows the companionship of sailors
I just found this song and I'm adding it to my drinking playlist
FACTS 👍👍
Same tbh
Beautiful song. Got the feel of a shanty or a cadence to it.
Can't get it out of my head.
Definitely in the style of a shanty
Literally sang this on sea of thieves last night with like 6 random people :)
I would've killed to be in on that one! 🤣🤣🤣
i just started playing sea of thieves. told my friend then he showed me this song.
Third soloist really has the perfect voice for this style. Nice work lads
silence of the lambs reference wow
You could almost see them glancing around at each other before continuing the chorus XD
This is one of the greatest songs ever performed
Thank you Poxy Boggards this was great
I never heard this song, oh my, I love this, thanks for posting, i can't stop laughing
Come to the Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Southern California in April and May. You can hear and see it live
First time hearing this, had a double take at the puts lotion on it's skin line, then the song pauses at the perfect moment that I said "What?" I had a good laugh for that.
I love that pause towards the end lol
The pause is better live, they all look at the guy like wtf?!,
I suspect there was a time that this could have been a running cadence. I'd get motivated running to this during a Regimental Run.
Too slow for a running cadence. Perfect for marching, though
Like for me when they get to the 'YAARRR' parts i throw my fist in the air it motivates me
Chances are you wouldn't be able to run 5 miles.

I like this song. First heard the Creepy Bard and Captain Tactless cover it, but this version is more like a song.
This came on my the key of awesome station on pandora
The "lives in a hole" guy almost sounds like John Mulaney.
Thanks?
Fuck me I've listened to this song do many times never thought of that

I play this for my fiance, she knows the sadness that's intertwined but she loves the rest and how it plays out
Amused, amused is the word your looking for XD

Always the best song
The last part got me so hard once I realized what was being said. XD XD XD
