The black collar might be some sort of superpower suppressor that was forced on Superman, probably made by Lex. Going off your theory, I could see the “all hope is lost” moment of the movie being Superman trying to stop Ultraman from destroying Metropolis or whatever he plans to do, then Lex reluctantly removes the black collar from Superman so he can save the day.

The Metropolis map with its eggs feels reminiscent of the Gotham subway map on Joker that had names such as Kane County, the Snyder District, and Nolan Lane. And I hope the stunt category is actually recognized as it should be and not just the Academy's tacit acknowledgement. As far as Comic Con goes, at BEST, I could maybe see Gunn having some sort of behind the scenes video similar to the sizzle reel we got of The Suicide Squad during DC FanDome in 2020.

And that collar looks to be the same kind of power-negating device used on Polka-Dot Man in 'The Suicide Squad'. And I won't entirely say on the Ultraman thing as we still have no true confirmation. It could still well be Ulysses or perhaps a different 'Ultra' altogether. By that I mean the Ultra-Humanite, Superman's first super-villain and a genius who transfers his brain to various bodies. That dark suit may well be hiding a monstrous superhuman body (not necessarily the albino ape body). This is just a possibility I think some might be overlooking and I accept I might be way off. But until I get more legit information that's all I got. And I'm having a blast so far theorizing about this film. Haven't been able to do that in a good while.

Good job pointing out the differences in th suit and with the theories. Honestly I think that leak is not all the way right, maybe small parts of it but idk we'll see. Here's my theory: Battle damaged (BD) suit is Superman's suit. Ultraman initially takes him down with the help of the military where the suit gets damaged. Then some staged invasion takes place and Ultraman takes the BD suit and pretends to be Superman to go fight the villians. At some point Supes will break free or be released amd put's on a new suit to save the day.

No matter how the photos of the suit are presented, the trunks just look silly on the actor and I feel it cheapens the overall aesthetic. The Superman chest symbol should be much larger and I don’t care for the collar and overall pattern of the suit. I do like the color scheme and I think Corenswet does have that Superman feel to him but I just can’t get behind the suit that they put him in. I’ll take Chris Reeves suit over this one all day. More set photos have released and the editor for the film has been revealed. One of the set photos features a map of part of Metropolis.
