i finally found this movie, i watched it at around 7 years old and i think about it almost all the time. didn't remember the title but searched it with key words finally and damnnn this movie is just so amazing
watched this last night its been on my list for a while. it was really good! the style really does feel like a painting. the cgi is meh but honestly if you were to pause at any time it all blends in anyways. i just didn't care for the ending though. but other than that it was great! 8/10
I sincerely wish this would have been cell animated, as opposed to computer animated. It makes the movement look odd and kind of cheap. The artwork is stunning and Im sure the story is beautiful, but the movement totally kills it for me, exactly in the same way that computer animation looks awkward and kills it for me in shows like the Simpsons/Futurama/Rick and Morty when they utilize it as a shortcut for stuff that requires perspective and larger objects turning or moving in 3 dimensional space.
Wait, you mean it is really that rigid? Why I strangely find it look fine since it still has a sense of movement arch. Least, I see it alike robotic though if you mean by that. But who knows.
I have read a book REALLY similiar to this. Just with painters going inside their painting, instead of paintings coming to the outside world, although they could do that there too. Anyway the art of this looks gorgerous. The only thing i don't like is the CGI it kind of ruins the feeling of painting?? Idk.

Least they made half of the scenes in twos.
