Also, free from a stable boyfriend due to that situation??...how can u expect a dude to comfortably hit it from the back while on His nees on a hard floor??...speaking of nees you need to think about yourself too in sexual situations. If I went to a girl's house with no furniture, I'd wonder if she was doing crack/meth.
Great video! People don't consider that when you buy something, you are giving up time twice - the time that it took to make the money to buy the thing, and then the time that thing steals from you as you use it/maintain it and the time it takes away from other things in your life.
I agree. Dropping most of the materialistic things do improve your quality of life. It took me a solid 5 days to do this and it was hard but I realized the end results were so uplifting. Less stress and more happiness. I felt like I could never be a minimalist, but It was achieved at the end of the day.
I'd love to see another video where you guys talk about how living this way has effected the way you see your possessions and how it has changed you, like if you guys decided to get rid of some furniture when decorating your new house or something. :)
Look, people who have different opinions on how they spend their time are fine. At the beginning of the day, we are all given that decision to personalize. So it's perfectly fine for you to spend your time hiking while someone else spends it watching TV. With all that being said, happy to hear you found the happiness you desired
I'm about to be in this situation - moving across the country, stuff goes into storage this coming week leaving me with a few clothes, a roll-up mattress and sleeping bag, minimal dishes and cutlery, and a laptop! Fortunately the house's services are still connected and the internet works (usually, that's another story)!
Backpackers have it all figured out, what you actually really need. It's enlightening to do that, and free from worry. However, wait until you have a child. That makes it even more interesting.
LLorenzo They need less than we think they do, but once you have children things go into more focus. Children don't need the latest trend in clothes or shoes, or the latest toys, but there is a lot of pressure to do things a certain way. You don't need expensive baby formula if you eat healthy and nurse them. And you can easily make your own baby food with a blender. You don't need expensive diapers. Cloth diapers are reasonable and environmentally friendly. But there is also a way to train a baby without diapers. You don't need a baby crib if you follow the Montessori method of setting up a nursery. But you do need to baby-proof a home. I did co-sleeping, with all my children and everything did just fine. But you can't do it if you drink a lot or do drugs. You don't need expensive schooling for a child, but you are responsible for giving them an appropriate education. Homeschooling is an option if you have the time. Children learn a lot from real life experiences, and watching you and other family members do their work. They don't need expensive fast food if you learn to cook, and maintain a budget. If you learn to sew, you can make a lot of kids clothing. But thrift stores often have great clothes for kids, or you can get clothes from other families and friends. You don't need a big car. You can get a cargo bike to put your kids in. But you are going to want to get a clean, safe home. And insurance. And find a good neighborhood for them to grow up in, and room to play outside, and to make friends in.
Great vid! I ended up accumulating some furniture, but not a whole lot. I live in about 280 sq ft. Hopefully when I move I'll get rid of all of it. I might keep my small table and cut the legs shorter for floor dining.
Fortunately my work paid to ship everything ;). But you are right we have already started to get rid of many of the things we shipped and are slowly getting down to just the essentials
Your production value is amazing! So much effort must have gone into this, can’t wait to see your channel grow. You’ve made some great points as well!... would be nice to have a chair 🤟
@@JesseMontgomery It really is. English is widely spoken and public transport is great. Serves the entire country and runs on time. Get the SwissPass before coming - will save you a lot. This is especially for all tourists. Kind regards and give Roland hugs from me.
Hey I wounder how you guys live without all of that ? E.g. how you cook , where do you sleep. Could you make a video about it ? I think nowdays lots of people wants to go minimum but cannot imagine what is like to live without all of that.
Great idea! We kept just one pot and one pan that we use to do all of our cooking and we slept on an air mattress. It is definitely a difficult transition, but like anything in life, you get used to it and learn to adapt and thrive!
@@JesseMontgomery yes definitely! It is very difficult. I was moving out of flat, so I had to sell lot of things early. I ended up sleeping on the floor with no TV, sofa, table, chairs for 2weeks. Literally there was just Mat in the living room. And I came to a realisation that I don't need all that to be happy. It still feel the same 🤣. I am looking forward for your new video 😉
Where in Florida is this? I thought I saw a skyline on the horizon. The alligator sign was a tell. Great job! Would like to know where you shipped your goods to?
Good eye! It was in St Augustine. Definitely a cool town. We shipped our goods (and ourselves) to Japan. Check out the video here! ruclips.net/video/WLl64RVTKHE/видео.html
Thanks so much for watching! You're absolutely right, it's not realistic for most people to live without furniture and dishes. But this was a pretty unique situation we found ourselves in for a few months so I thought I'd share it and discuss some of my thoughts about what it was like to live with less. At it's core, minimalism is about living an intentional, meaningful life and limiting distractions both physical and mental that prevent you from doing so. Whether that means getting rid of a couple knick knacks or selling everything you own, everyone has their own path towards finding the things that really matter in life.
Thanks for watching! Yep just sharing our experience of our "forced" minimalist lifestyle while we were in the long process of moving to a new country. I must say it was not as bad as I expected and since then we have gotten rid of a large chunk of our possessions and are continuing to pair down to the essentials. It was a great learning experience!
I sold all my furniture and sleep on the floor. I feel free and happy!!! I’m almost 40. I’m so UNtrapped and liberated
Awesome!!

The homeless have been doing this for years
Not by choice generally.
And the last hunter gatherer people in my country...I've tried it when I lived with them for 2 nights...
I’m subscribing you man because i am also a minimalist learner. I am keen on your progress.

Yes because sooner or later we have to star the Swiss dead declutter too so bye to everything sooner or later will be nothing zero furniture and more
No matrace? 😬
