if you get an engine running lean, it can be the booster leaking or rusted . You pinch the supply hose off and if engine clears up. its the booster rusted at the bottom or the diaphragm is bad, and you need the release tool after you take the brake switch out .

How much would this cost..???? This just happened to my daughter's 2007 VW Beetle.
I had vw replace one in a 2004 beetle,1000 dollars by the time it was over,and well worth it in my opinion

A good VW mechanic where I live would charge about $150 an hour.
in my opinion your lookin at at least 800 bucks at VW@@TheGarageUSA
