    Nice review Dustin, this adds another interesting contender to the list of Sony remotes (a few months back we made a pretty comprehensive comparison of Sony remotes on LensVid however we didn't test the Sony GPVPT2BT but we did mention it - I personally feel that it is mostly relevant for vloggers). This one actually makes a lot more sense since you can remove the remote component plus the pricing is more accessible.
    OIh and by the way - did I miss that or did you forget to mention the 1/4" 20 connections on the side for mic/light etc.? (I think the Sony don't have these).

      I did forget to mention the 1/4" connection, which is a valid observation.

      @@DustinAbbottTWI Yap it can be useful. I never used the Sony one - is it plastic like it looks?

    This looks like a really nice product and love that it offers more features. Have you seen the Canon HG-100TBR? It’s an extremely similar product from Canon with a detachable bluetooth remote, as well as providing options for mounting an external microphone - making the M6 Mark II much more usefully for vlogging. I use it attached to the side of my cage to give me a grip with a built in recording button. Makes life so much easier!

      These types of products are definitely very useful in many situations.

    Thank you for this review! Would the custom button on the remote also work with a Canon camera, say an M50? What would it trigger there - or can you even configure that?

      Hi Harald, I think the answer is yes, but I'm not familiar enough with the M50 to know what button it would correspond to.

    has the zoom multiple speeds or is it full speed only?

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  3 года назад

      You actually control the zoom speed from within the camera, so it will move at whatever speed you've assigned.

      @@DustinAbbottTWI Old Sony cameras have a variable speed zoom switch and I hoped this one too. Thank you!

      I'm afraid I haven't tested that application
