Good to see Curt troweling up a ceiling, Good video Stu. Double beds in a room I remove the headboard and stand the base up against the wall and put the mattress in another room, find that easier.
Hi Eddie yes mate we sometimes do this but this one was one of them that had storage drawers underneath & they were loaded ! Like a bouncy castle this one good leg workout 🤦🏻♂️
I'm a 35 Yr old office monkey. Thought about switching gear and getting in to plastering a few times. Will never take the plunge I'm sure but these videos are super interesting to me. Thanks!

hi, thx for the vid. I hav a slightely bowed ceiling caused by a leak from a toilet above. can it be fixed just by stapling the ceiling panels back to the joists?
nice video as ususal mate, quick tip use the stuff from the speedskim for second set stuff goes off like a rocket when its mixed but goes of nicely once on dunno if you already do it or not aha
Hi Ian, We use a standard paint roller pole which we picked up from B&Q we find these poles are perfect I did buy an extendable OX speedskim pole but to be totally honest it is way to big for domestics even when retracted
As usual great video with lots of tips in there 👍 Do you find the bonding in the 1st coat sets the plaster quicker or actually gives a bit more time ? Also if its a bigger ceiling, have you ever used extra time in the mix with the bonding in ? Will the extra time still work as it should ? Thanks.
Hi Daniel, Thanks for watching 👍 The bonding actually slows the set down you can add extra time & yes it still works perfectly fine with the bonding coat in as it's gypsum based. We sometimes add halftime to the first mix especially if it's a cold day. In most cases your gear tends to hang about on artex so the halftime really helps to get that first one going
Put him on Used stainless steel trowel, Back in the day my boss started me on used carbon steel, big mistake, on them for 2 years, found it hard when he changed me over to stainless steel, broke my heart shoulder etc, 😂, Many 😭, I Never made the same mistake again, when training up New lad's 👍 As Always Great Video
Great advice George i have got an old MT that he can use actually 👍 he is currently using a refina Medi it's ok but not for the later stages of the set so a stainless MT would be better 👍
Somebody tried to make more space in the loft surely - by cutting out the original 'stays' that would have supported those rather 'slim' rafters?? ... Something that was often done in the 70's - before people got 'wise' :-) ..... You made a good job of putting it right though - As long as they don't go walking about up there :-( ... How did you get Elton to part with his Moon-Boots ???? ........ Good old 70's fashion choices made life easier for us Spreads ......
Smashing video Stu!

Sounds to me like it'll need to be cut out & some plasterboard fixed in place
Hi, my bedroom ceiling is bowing to about 20mm, will this be ok to plaster or will it require battening similar to whats shown on the video?
How exactly did you attach nd what did you attach to the joist to make the ceiling level?
Good vid what angle trowel are ya using mate
Hi Duncan thanks for watching it's the ragni corner trowel mate

@@troweltalk2719 Cheers
Can you board straight over after that contains asbestos?
What did you do to stop further bowing of the current joists?
Hi,
We screw fixed a plank to the ceiling joists then used a length of 4x2 to bolt the plank to the ridge beam 👍
@@troweltalk2719 Suspect a better long term fix would be to replace to joists altogether
Good vid mate. I'm just trying to decide what to do with my bowed ceiling. What do you consider too much to over board? Mine is about 20mm bow

Was Curtis on his phone whilst pulling ceiling down?

Hi Simon we do if we are plastering the walls yes otherwise no mate
Great video Stuart, as per usual. What the name of that tape you use and where do you get it from. Thanks 👍
Hi Johnny67 it's called hippo tape & we pick it up from selcos thank you for watching 👍
Didn't see any scrim on the ceiling line at 9.46
