- Halifax has SO MUCH to offer! I deeply regretted scheduling only 1 day to explore this amazing city because there was a lot more to see and do. But nevertheless, you can see quite a bit of the city in 24hrs, so join me and Ryan on our adventures of trying out some of the best restaurants in the city and visiting top attractions like the Waterfront, Maritime Museum, Pier 21 and Alexander Keith's Brewery!
A big thank you to Discover Halifax for giving us some attraction passes and restaurant meals! Check out their website down below for more great recommendations in Halifax: discoverhalifa...

I went to Dalhousie University in Halifax many years ago. I then moved back to Montreal but part of my heart stayed in Halifax. It’s a WONDERFUL place to be!
That’s lovely!
Dartmouth was a city until 1996 when it amalgamated with Bedford, Halifax and Halifax County.
Have visited Halifax many times as I live in Cape Breton. The city just keeps growing and really does have a lot to enjoy. Interesting how during the pandemic many other Canadians discovered the city and also the rest of Nova Scotia.
I am seriously considering moving to Halifax. This city has always seemed like an amazing and appealing place to me, and I want to explore all the opportunities it offers. From beautiful nature to a rich cultural scene, Halifax promises to be a cozy and interesting place to live. I am inspired and ready for a new chapter in my life, and Halifax feels like a place where I can find my spot and start a new journey.
Don’t do it…
HALIFAX! Beautiful city! Beautiful people. 😊😊
Yeah it’s nice you finally got out of that concrete jungle of Toronto! Halifax and Martimes are definitely on my bucket list. Pier 21 was where my parents came to first from Greece in 50s. Great travel guide with Ryan (cute little microphone too Alina 👍🏼)
A very nice tour of the Halifax Dartmouth harbour areas. Although I never been to any of Canada's Maritime Provinces I've worked with a number former residents of all these provinces. Several of my friends were from the Spryfield neighborhood in Halifax. They told many stories of the cities so I sort of know about them, while never actually visiting them. Thanks for showing me things I'd heard about, and for patiently taking some of Ryan's quips about your day. He did add some great colour commentary.
That’s awesome! Hope you are able to visit there sometime, much to see!
Halifax is awesome!! Beautiful friendly people and amazing food. Definitely must- visit city in Canada 🇨🇦
Halifax is a great city. Harriet and I have been many times. When we lived in Boston , we would go there just to enjoy the seafood. New England has great seafood. But Halifax takes it to another level. The scallops are to die for. Lobster rolls are a staple in New England (Maine and Massachusetts.) . Hope you enjoyed them in Halifax. Friendly people and beautiful landscapes.
Alina, you captured its essence in this video.❤❤ It's nice to see Ryan again. Looking rather dapper. Hope you're doing ok. Sending much love❤ from Richmond, Va. Harriet, Jim and Yuki
Very true, the seafood is on another level here!
sea food is better outside the city, South Shore area..........
Great video about my home city. You came at a time where our city is in a transition. The “medium sized city with small city feel” is slowly disappearing. We are growing at a pace that we’ve never experienced in our long history - with no signs of slowing down. It’s now Canada’s fastest growing metro areas - soon to surpass 1/2 million population. Many of the people moving here are from India & other south Asian countries. With that, it seems to be losing its identity somewhat. I hope you’ll make it back here soon - cheers !
I live in Dartmouth! Thank you for highlighting The Canteen! And it's nice to see some fellow evening coffee lovers! I get laughed to scorn if I drink coffee after 3 lol
Lovely city - we did not have enough time to even scratch the surface of Halifax, not to mention Dartmouth. So much more to see and do! Worth a second visit in the future, I think.
Heck yes it does
very nice view with the moon and the city at night halifax seem a very cool and beautiful place to visit 💚
The Harhour Hopper is a must thing to do!! So fun and your get a tour & plenty of facts about Halifax. That's the land boat you saw at the beginning of your video 🤗
It did look super cool!
Many Thanks for this video ❤️
Hi Alina,
truly a spectacular video!
5:20 😂 It is about the emotions and not overloaded with facts. 👍🏻
Best regards, Ralf
Beautiful video! Heading out in a couple of weeks , super helpful 👏🏼
Halifax reminds me a lot of my hometown of Liverpool. Both are major maritime centres with their best attractions on the waterfront, both have many of formerly dodgy areas that have been neatened up, and there are loads of good seafood restaurants near the water.
Would love to visit Liverpool sometime!
Liverpool sucks 🤢
What a wonderful video. This one is especially nice, so well edited! Thanks for sharing. Halifax looks amazing. You both seemed to really enjoy it! Keep having fun! Thanks for sharing!
Yes, people from Halifax are called Haligonians and people from Dartmouth are Dartmouthians ... 😊 ... Cheers!
Ahh this was wonderful, Alina and Ryan! Love how chill you both are - fits right in with the Halifax vibes! I enjoyed Ryan's puns, ngl! 😆By the way, many years ago, Toronto's harbourfront did in fact have a "Hippopotamus" boat/bus! Hilarious. Wish I had taken it at least once. 🤷♀
Thank you!! Wish Toronto still had that haha
@@AlinaMcleod Same! I'm sure there is video floating around somewhere! 😆Enjoy your Thanksgiving! 🍁
Looks good. Thank You for the explorations. I think it is my Great Grandfather that likely came into Canada via Pier 21. Worth checking this out.
Yay!! been waiting for this one. Thanks for the video guys
Our pleasure!
Nice to meet you 😍💝🌹
Halifax reminds me a lot of Saskatoon or Victoria despite being on the opposite side of Canada. There’s definitely an underlying “Canadiana” feeling that you get no matter which part of the country you’re in that you just don’t get as much in the US or in any other country (save for maybe the UK). Also loved the jokes from Ryan. Hope to see him in some more videos. Wondering if you’ll complete the journey across Canada by going to Newfoundland next?
Very beautiful city not too big and then on the ocean! Love it. Thank you Alina
Very true, thank you!
Amazing and interesting city. Nice presentation Alina.
Thank Alina
Enjoy your time
Great video Alina! Very impressed with the area especially the waterfront area. Thanks for the video and looking forward to the next one.
Agreed, thank you very much!
Stunning beauty of Halifax. I love it . love and appreciate for you dear.👍👌
Thank you for bringing Ryan back.
Great video, thank you! We visited Halifax a few years ago end of October - many things were already closed but we loved the Citadel and Pier 21. Toronto also had Hippo tours - bus on land and water but they had to close 2012 because their access to the only land-water ramp into Lake Ontario at Ontario Place was discontinued.
Oh wow, I didn’t know that!
Wow, first of all , I like your channel a lot, Alina. Thanks for showing us the cities in Canada. I am fall in love with Canada and maybe in the future I will be living in Canada as well. I am Brazilian. HUGS from Brazil.
Thank you so much 😊 hope you get to come here sometime!
The boat truck is the Harbour hopper which is a vietnam war era amphibious vehicle donated to Halifax by the USA for some reason.
Memoriessss, my wife took me there for our anniversary, Halifax is unique...
We from the Dartmouth call ourselves Darthmouthians! So happy you enjoyed your visit.
Darksiders
Glad you had a great time in my home city! Definitely only scratched the surface of the surface! :)
Definitely a lot more to see!
A perfect trip in Halifax!❤
Looks worth a visit Thanks !! Great vid 👍
Very nice vlog. Wonderful Halifax wow 👍😍♥️😛
Haligonians? That is interesting. I have never heard that term before. The pier looks so clean and gorgeous. Looks like a great place to visit. 👍👍
It absolutely is!
Thank you for great sharing nice travel with nice place
In my bucket list now. Thanks. Great as always.
Hi Alina great job always❤🎉😮
Beautiful Alina!

@@AlinaMcleod Good to hear that💗💗

Hello Alina! 😄🙏👋🌟 I hope your having a excellent day! This is really a wonderful super magnificent video! 😁👍❤️👏📹🇨🇦⚓️🛥🥇💯💫✨🌟 The city of Halifax looks so absolutely amazing! The Public Gardens, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and Pier 21 is marvelous! Also the CSS Acadia ship and the Alexander Keith’s Brewery looks so very cool! Even the food at the Dilly Dally, the Bicycle Thief and the Canteen Restaurant looks so delicious! I would definitely like to visit the city of Halifax one day. It truly is a beautiful city! Thank you so much Alina to share with us this fantastic excellent video. You are the best and greatest world traveler adventurer ever! 😃👍👏📹✈️🌎📹🥇💯💫🌟 I wish you Alina a wonderful beautiful glorious blessed day. 😊🙏❤️👋🇨🇦👍✨🌟
Thank you and likewise!
Wish you spend more time at Maritime museum. Plan to visit the place some day. To see how the ships were built. Good filming. Thank you Alina and Ryan.
I always watch your videos because of interesting things you shows us, I wanna meet with you ,lot of love from kashmir
Wonderful episode and Halifax seems an interesting place to visit. I love harbors, ships and other maritime things so that museum must be a bucketlist thing there. The food looks delicious, so you maybe have convinced me to start my Canada trip in Halifax than travel further to BC/Alberta ( mountain person here ) have to figure some things out for next year of 2025. Keep up the good work, it is enjoyable and informative as well👌
Thank you! You absolutely should check out the east coast if you’re wanting a broad view of Canada!
Hi Alina! Halifax is amazing and beautiful, and this is a secret to most Canadians!
True, not that many Canadians have travelled out here!
Awesome video! I was always so curious about this city. It seems to have a lot of European influences as well.
Yeah they received a lot of immigration from Europe so it makes sense!
nice recorrido en Halifax nice areas verdes , restaurant, food , waterfront, compañía, y te miras bonita! con tu camisa morada
Thanks Alina for that fine video.Happy Thanksgiving and have a good week.
Thank you and likewise!
Hillyfax, Halifacts! Reminds me of all the things that I say that drive my wife crazy, hi from DC!
One of the best vlogs, thank you!#
Show 🇨🇦🇧🇷
Thankyou for the tour. Have not been to that area of Canada.
My pleasure! Hope you get to go sometime!
Your all videos are informative
Thank you!
Hey Alina, nice review. How long is the drive to Burncoat Head Park from Halifax? Thanks.
Hii i like your videoes and watch can you please go brampton sometime and make video on that place lifestyle ❤
Great video! I would love to finally visit Atlantic Canada. Cheers from the other coast, (Vancouver, BC)!
I hope you do!
Amazing video
Are you going to livestream in St.Johns Newfoundland?
Will have to do Newfoundland another time!
Yep, you hit all the stereotypes. Well done.
lovely tour with you two wonderful people. Love the east coast. The food is amazing , wonder if you could include the prices of the food to give us an idea of how the prices are set in each province and city here in Canada. Thanks much.
For sure, will definitely keep that in mind for future videos. Nowadays the average sit down restaurant meal in Canada is around $30 per person I would say with tax and tip.
Those are big scallops. I believe sauce called buerre blanc
At last, Halifax!# My pet business named after. It's where APEC leaders had their meeting couple if years ago!# Cool!# Love to see you both pair up again!#
You are cute together😊. This was very enjoyable, lovely city with much character.
Dartmouth is a district in Halifax
What is COL for NS? Many Canadiens are feeling the pinch. They need to get out of where they are. So many in YT complaining bout COL
Spectacular Alina Mcload
Hi alina
you must have come on that sunny day we had that year lol
Lucky us lol
Its been awhile since I've been to Halifax and I was wondering if there still are artists studios & shops at the waterfront
That Crobster Roll is so inexpensive at CAD$27. A lobster roll in Boston costs USD$45 and that was many years ago.
Wow, that is insanely expensive!
In addition, as far as I know, living in Halifax is the cheapest, the fastest and the best way to get to Europe😊

love the music
Lovely city,thank you
Attractive city and couple.
Beautiful night scene Halifax!#
Haifax looks really good
The seafood is fab!
It sure is. The scallops there were the best I've ever had!
Алина и Райн прикольные!
Salina you are looking very cute and this city is very beautiful and places very attentive.thanks for you.
When you visit Iqaluit :) ?
When the plane tickets aren't so expensive lol
@@AlinaMcleod
Yes. That is the reason why I have not visited :)
Hmm, Ryan’s puns sound as bad as mine were, once a pun a time 😂
And we have more happy hours per capita than anywhere else in Canada.
FYI, cruise ships don't park. They dock.
I have to come now.
Cool Ryan!#
Mmmm, nice food!#
Nice guide, but you're shorting us on population by a fair bit, Statscan lists the Halifax CMA population as 518k
Summerside?
Alina, do you know how much the rent for 1 bedroom apartment is in Halifax? I thought since you were there maybe you have the info. Or is that another video topic. 🙋🏻♀️
Sadly won’t be in a following video but it’s expensive because they had a huge influx of people in the last few years and apparently 1 bedrooms are now about $2000 a month.
@@AlinaMcleod wow!! Thank you!! Have a wonderful time at home.. i wish you all the happiness and luck wherever you go next. You are such an inspiration. My husband and I make arrangements for a week to drive to Sv Naum and you did it on a bike. I always think of you when about to go somewhere. Good luck!! 🍀
@@Send2billyJ aw that is so kind of you to say, thank you! Hope you guys have a great trip!
A perfect 24 hrs spent in HFX would include a 24 hr induced coma
❤❤❤
Who is Ryan?
A very good friend of mine, been in many past videos
@@AlinaMcleod Oh, I thought maybe bf lol ...
So you went to Halifax and ate and drank, is there nothing else to do there?
All the other things I showed like the Botanical Gardens Citadel, Maritime Museum, Pier 21??
