For #45, they drew out the number going from right to left they date 12 and grime left to right 34. The the yellow lines deprecate it into 3 parts, 1st part(where the blue and red lines intersect) they multiplied 3x1=3 which is the number on the left, then part 2(where the red and red lines intersect and the blue and green lines intersect) they multiplied 4x1=4 (red and red lines) and 3x2=6 (blue and green lines) they then added 4+6=10 to get the middle number, part 3 (where the red and green lines intersect) you multiply 4x2=8 and you get the number on the far right, then since you can't have 10 in a place value the carried the one over to the one hundreds place and turned the 3 into a 4, they put the numbers together giving them 408 as their answer, so 12x34=408
