I'm from Germany and after visiting a befriended family in USA went to Canada with the possibility of a Working Holiday Visa for 12 months. First I was shocked by the rental prices and then by the food prices, the very cold weather also didn't help with motivation. I didn't understand why the Government has no plans to raise the minimum wage in the current or following year to compensate inflation. Finally I left the country after one month and was happy to be back in Europe again. First many people didn't understand my decision to return because they had a romanticized version of Canada in their mind (like me before) but I explained it to them with the same points like you and feel more confident about that when I see and share videos with similar perspectives. I’m Canadian Citizen I’m moving out from Canada awhile agoes . Why would I screw my whole life just to benefit the Govn. Everything it’s expensive high cost housing with low minimum wage , bills, foods etc… No social life everyone are mostly depress . You work just to have roof over your head nothing left much on your wallet etc… I don’t want to go more in details Cz I’ll know there’s is too much disadvantage lifestyle . Even with degree you’ll have to go through a lot with competitions , discrimination at work places etc… Please there’s some other countries better than Csnada . Born and raised in Canada. If anything could make me move it's the cost of living. I work full time yet have never been able to afford a home or property. Food is extremely expensive. Government is bloated and increasingly woke and despite the rising costs, services have been diminishing. You see the effect... Cities are run down, 'friendly ' Canadians are pretty cranky these days and it just seems like drug and alcohol abuse is rampant. Covid did a number on us for sure. I still hope for better days though.

It depends on personal expectations I guess. I moved from a remote city in Lima, Peru to the medium/small sized city of Trois-rivieres in QC. Rent was 600$ a month for a two bedroom back when we arrived in 2019. Life is peaceful here, I love it.
My family have lived here since the 1800's and I want too leave as Canada is turning more of a communist counties, as we have 30 Chinese Police Stations here in this country and now a gun band and the government can seize your bank account. But Taxes are going up. HST and Carbon Tax.
