I'm planning to leave Canada with my money as soon as I'm allowed to leave the country. Things are getting really bad really fast here, and most of the country seems to either not care or are so brainwashed that they're in denial. I'm not waiting till its too late. The fact that they can just freeze your account or seize them if you say something they don't like should be concerning to everyone
The scariest part of all this is that most Canadians seem okay with this. I'm shocked and disturbed. "Don't commit a crime and you won't get your bank account frozen". Do they realize the govt decided in that moment it was illegal? The one leader of thr convoy denied bail was also shocking when worse criminals are granted bail. Shocking and disgusting
@@vancouver4sure that was not Liberialism... That was a FASCIST AUTHORITARIAN move not at all usually associated with our CHARTER OF RIGHTS AND FREEDOM....
In Canada, sex offenders are easily and continuously granted bail after an offense. So, Canada has sex offenders walking free for months or years until they have their trial. While protestors get much harsher treatment without a trial.
If we didn't live in a dictatorship our Bank account wouldn't be frozen. Dictator Trudeau took our right to protest away! Today it is our bank accounts what will the dictator do next! We lived in a free country right up to when Trudeau figured he was king.
@Robert Beck I think based on your comment that "most people were not OK about the issue.... In fact the "Liberal Brand" (fedrerally and provincially) has been tarnished for years to come by that last really stupid Emergency Act decision.... The problem we have is the two next possible subsitutes have even more blemishes and cannot be trusted either.... TIME for new blood ... REAL CHANGE.... scary as that may sound... Any principled political group may be a better alternative now...morals, ethics. & integrity in our politicians is what we need.
I've just resigned after 15 years in the Canadian military. The view from the inside is grim and I've never seen such low morale. Despite being chronically short staffed, they purged hundreds of members with utter indignity and disrespect because of the "vaccines." There is no way I will risk myself being drawn in any way into the sham war in Ukraine. We are now in the process of selling our house and leaving the country. My only hope is that we get out in time before they come down with further tyrannical measures. My parents escaped from communism to Canada in the 1970s and here we are escaping communism ourselves.

I worked 3 jobs in Canada in my 17 years in there. I came 2003. First was plumbers helper (I have a Master s degree in Mechanical engineering). 16$ hour, found via social connections. Second was junior shipboard engineer. 28-35$ hour depending on the ship plus OT. Social connections. A friend of mine got me into there, just because I was his friend. All other resumes go into the waste bin immediately. BTW it was BC Ferries, the ferry you took was my ferry I used to work at. Third job after I got my full fledged shipboard engineery license and could have stayed for long at BCF. I got tired of working nights and my friend talked to one of his buddies in a provincial government and they got me there as a senior incident investigator. 65$ hour, excellent job with top benefits and pension. Last 4 years I worked in there from home with business trips. In 2021 I had to quit and sell my house and possessions on Craigslist because the country went straight into tyranny mode. All my work to get licensed went to shit thanks to Turdo and obedient Canadian sheeps. Without social connections forget about having a decent job. You need someone who knows someone who knows who's hiring. It's harsh over there, new immigrants.
I'm Canadian. I jumped on a plane to Mexico City one week after learning that my province would be imposing a "vaccine passport". Soon after I left, the Canadian government imposed regulations making it impossible for many Canadians to leave the country. I've been in Mexico since early October, with no regrets.
Laura Wiser - Can I ask where in Mexico you live? Both one of my kids & I want to leave - basically narrowed it down to Costa Rica, Mexico, or America.

I'm walking, literally walking away from Canada, with no more than 40 dollars in my pocket. Going to Mexico to start a new life somewhere nicer and warmer. No more working every day to hardly afford the rents, poison food/water and taxes. Relocating to anywhere warm, even owning nothing, is better than this frozen toxic hellscape, where the government entraps its citizens in perpetual debt slavery, while extracting all the oil/mineral/timber/agricultural resources merely to give them away below market value to the U.S and China, only to re-import the materials back at a premium so the average Canadian is thoroughly price-raped for all and every product. Worst part of Canada now... is the corporate-fascist propaganda media. Their constant insane virtue-shaming about the climate change being so deadly warm while we all shiver and struggle to afford the life saving warmth of home with a natural gas furnace and reliable transportation.
And of course the climate is not important anymore if they want to start sanctioning other countries and so on. So many people believe this shit. It is sad. I think about leaving Germany too.
I was in admiration of Canada until the trucker's protest and Trudeau's totalitarian behavior made it clear the government was going batshit crazy, not interested in resolving the issue, just brute force quasi-legally applied. Freezing someone's bank account is tantamount to denying people food and shelter. Without money, you can't get these things. I'm shocked and disgusted.

All of that is a lie.” “The truth is that the problems faced by millions of people in the West are the result of many years of actions by the ruling elite of your respective countries, their mistakes, and short-sighted policies and ambitions. I write this as a Canadian, but I've noticed that my fellow countrymen have been raised from birth to be meek and polite, big-government-worshipping tax-slaves who see no higher cause in the world than being a faceless, tiny cog keeping a cubicle warm in the massive bureaucracy somewhere. We're told smugly that our publicly-funded healthcare system is what makes us better than Americans, but never told that it rates 19/36 in the OECD despite consuming 13% of our national GDP while theirs has no wait times and world-class doctors. The country, under Justin Trudeau has rapidly ascended global lists for corruption, while also dropping like a rock in most measures of international competitiveness. Canada is a dead end, a sinking ship, and truly the perfect example of one of your "legacy brand countries". I'm looking for my exit, too.
People often have to wait several months for appointments in the US because you can only see doctors in your "network", and medical error is the third leading cause of death as well. The slide away from freedom and liberty occurs slowly. People do not notice the slide since it occurs slowly. The best way to appreciate the magnitude of the change is to compare the changes that have happened over an extended period of time, such as 50 years or more.
And it always starts by pointing against someone most people would simply not like. This is the key that allows the first, fatal, precedent to get a foothold. And then it's just a question of patient incremental change until we are where we are today.

We are a family of five who left Europe during summer of 2020 with three small children, flew temporarily over to Texas, quarantining prior in Mexico for a few weeks. Literally, everything stayed there. We took off with 9 suitcases, three backpacks, and a stroller. The sentiment in TX before the elections was incredible. It felt like people were awake and aware of the situation, unlike the majority of Europeans who had no clue of what was really about to happen. This gave us a lot of hope. Having a compulsory educational system, and what was heading to the continent with the current health crisis, there was no way around it. We had to leave the country! Good move... Some of Texas's challenges is that many liberal people have left California and are starting to change the landscape there. They leave California because of the high cost of living, not owning that they and the way they vote is what has caused the high cost. They moved to Austin, which is like a mini California high taxes ( higher property taxes than CA) with escalating real estate values. Of course, there are many other areas of Texas that are not like this.

When King George III was treating American colonists like dirt, our ancestors declared independence and fought the vaunted Redcoats to achieve that end. Meanwhile, Canadians were also being over-taxed and treated as second-class citizens by King George III but did nothing about it. Today, Trudeau is setting himself up as emperor of Canada and, once again, Canadians are doing nothing about it. Of course, it would help if Canadians could freely buy and sell firearms. A mere 9,000 handgun permits are issued each year in Canada and almost all of those goe to security guards and police. @@mitchwiggins9935 Yes that is good but what do we in this lower revenue bracket do to re-locate for now to Europa?
We are a family of five who left Europe during summer of 2020 with three small children, flew temporarily over to Texas, quarantining prior in Mexico for a few weeks. Literally, everything stayed there. We took off with 9 suitcases, three backpacks, and a stroller.
The sentiment in TX before the elections was incredible. It felt like people were awake and aware of the situation, unlike the majority of Europeans who had no clue of what was really about to happen. This gave us a lot of hope. In Germany they had already passed mandatory vaccinations for scholars last year, something I had never thought could ever happen. Having a compulsory educational system, and what was heading to the continent with the current health crisis, there was no way around it. We had to leave the country! Homeschooling over there is illegal by the way. Our friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors thought we were crazy. Over a year has passed and they are starting to realize that we weren’t so wrong. Children are the ones who pay for this insanity and we want to protect them at all costs.
Right now we are based in Central America, where our children are enjoying the weather and learning a new language. It hasn’t been an easy ride for sure. We had our cards on Trump and after the election steal, we decided to head down over to these latitudes to see what happens with the world.
God bless us all!
