North Indians Gujaratis and Punjabis are making Canada unrecognizable. Being Tamil Canadian, I can personally attest to this. I'm hoping for the next election so I can vote Trudeau out since he and Punjabis (Singh) founded the NDP Liberal Coalition. How I miss the old Canada.

As a Canadian I think what region in India they are from is irrelevant. We need to stop all immigration from India, or we will just turn into India 2.0. I couldn't imagine a worse fate for this country. We are only 40 million people. If we let large countries import in mass numbers, they will overwhelm our society and import their own society, rules and social norms. Our leaders are ruining our countries future with this mass migration.

This is a true story. One of my Indian friends moved to Canada 26 years ago. He holds a bachelor's degree and an MBA. However, after 26 years, he found himself in Canada with nothing as a family man. He took a loan of 1,200,000 Indian rupees and returned to India to start a food-related restaurant business. Within one and a half years, his business thrived, and after five years, he had accumulated savings exceeding 10 million Indian rupees.
He targeted a specific clientele, offering dishes priced at around 2,500 rupees per plate, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining impeccable hygiene standards. India, being a vast market, presented more opportunities than Canada. If you aim to earn money, consider doing business in India. However, if you seek a colder climate and a predominantly white Western society, Canada might be more suitable. Before making a decision, carefully assess your priorities and needs.

As a person living for around twenty years in Canada, the real problem is too much supply of human resources from outside Canada especially from India. This is around 35% and trying to concentrate in certain areas of Canada. This has caused too much burden on Health care, Transportation, housing, and other public services in those areas. Unlike the time I migrated to Canada, all places are now overcrowded. There are not enough job opportunities due to the large influx of students. Thousands of applicants for one job from the day they arrive here. You can get some idea of how many applied on the job site Indeed. This has resulted in companies and job agencies exploiting students by paying low wages and firing them indiscriminately. Therefore, both the Canadian government and the Indian government have a role to play and Students too should be aware of the real situation here.

However we should preserve that state to future generations migrating from India. Students should consider settling in different provinces to overcome overcrowding. Then there is problem of not enough industries in those areas for jobs Most students want to recover their tuition fees by doing whatever job available. They all try to settle near an industrial area. This problem should be solved by the Canadian government before bringing students from the outside world. Canada is a big country. My advice is to students migrating from India to first select a province which is not over crowded. Stay there for a while and see if you can find a job there. If no other option is available there only move to a busy area.

I am a Mexican living in Mexico, I have visited Canada on several occasions and I think it is an excellent place to live. The part I don't understand about this report is: if people are leaving Canada, why is the cost of housing still high? In my opinion, the people who are now leaving Canada realized too late that they cannot afford the standard of living in a country like Canada. The same would have happened if they had emigrated to England, France, the United States or Germany. The phenomenon has more to do with the value of work than with Canada. In the last two decades the value of unskilled work has plummeted, no one can live in a moderately developed country with an unskilled job, to make matters worse, now white collar jobs have also begun to disappear. Society is simply transformed again and the effects of this transformation begin to be noticed first in those countries where life is more expensive.

Personally, I think Canada lacks strong leadership. Has for a long time. No vision what the country is and where it is headed. Right now for instance, they plan to bring in 500K immigrants per year. With a shortage in housing already, things are going to get worse. Immigrants who have foreign experience and education are totally ignored. Why is that? Don't bring immigrants in when you do not have a plan of integration. Toronto has the most educated cab drivers in the world. Racism. My brother got his Cdn degree in Chem Engineering. Could not even get an interview in his field for 3 years. He changed his first name on the resume to a Christian one. Right away got 2 interviews. Disgusted he moved to Singapore. Within 2 weeks he got an engineering job. Two weeks! He returned to Canada after 3 years. With the experience under his belt, he got a job right away. He stayed a few years but did not like it anymore. Did not feel like home. Moved to the U.S. Headhunters call him frequently. Canada and U.S., both western nations, the opportunities are less in Canada. The question is why?

      @gerardo4149 3 месяца назад +11

@@ghassanjneinaty4421 Sorry, my comment is that of a Mexican who does not live in Canada, I do not intend to minimize the concerns of Canadians.
My only argument is that the immigrants who have decided to leave Canada due to the high cost of living at the time did not take into account that in Canada, as in the rest of the world, you cannot live with an unskilled job.
I am sure that many doctors and engineers that live in Canada, and arrived as immigrants now have a better life than in their countries of origin.
The high cost of housing and deficiencies in health services are a global problem, as are pensions. People simply live longer today than they did 40 years ago, adding to that, new medical treatments are more expensive, 50 years ago a doctor only had X-rays at his disposal, now he has MRI. Every improvement in the standard of living comes with a significant increase in the cost of living. Unfortunately, the only way to cover it is with more taxes but for that you require people to have a higher income, but it turns out that with new technologies more can be done with fewer people, which puts downward pressure on salaries.
Our society is experiencing a change that has not been seen since the beginning of the industrial revolution, in my opinion it will take decades before the waters calm down.

The main reason that Canada is bringing in half a million migrants and hundreds of thousands of students is to keep the property prices high. If they slow down intake of migration and international students property prices will crash and with it the Canadian economy. Canada earns billions in migration fees, education fees and of course cheap labor like cleaners, carers, and taxi drives, jobs that canadian-born residents will not do.
Most students are financed by their Mum and Dad Bank, lived a sheltered life with maids and drivers but with no skills, so they go overseas, and forced to do menial jobs to survive. Back home the family will be looking for a rich partner.

Regardless of all the mud-slinging in the comments, I strongly advise any prospective immigrants to Canada to consider their situation/ aspirations seriously before making the move to Canada. While Canada is indeed a beautiful country, especially from spring to fall, there is no doubt that it has fallen behind severely in recent years. This is a massively underperforming country and people (Canadians and immigrants alike) are struggling big time. There is a massive leadership problem in Canada, where trivial problems get 99% of the attention. Real problems (which are easily solvable by the way) get little to no attention at all. Either there is very little will or the current administration is simply incompetent. Either way, some structural changes need to happen before Canada can recover.

Canada is not all about oneself as many Newcomers would like it to be. Most Canadians worked dam hard for years to achieve what we have today. We did not beg our Government for handouts or cry because money was sometimes short, no we did not....we worked harder and showed determination. Unlike many Newcomers to Canada.

Many Indian studenrs here have high expectations but poor background and inadequate English language skills. It is a shame that people are getting into Canada with false documentation and credentials. Also they are enrolling in very dubious schools and it is no surprise that they find life here very difficult. Hopefully the Canadian government will take greater care to see that only suitable candidates are allowed to come to Canada as students. Also students from other countries should avoid coming here if they don't really have sufficient skills and should make sure that they are choosing reputable educational institutions. My parents immigrated to Canada 30+ years ago, so I came as a school kid. That's the only reason I can afford to live here today. If I arrived as a new immigrant, I couldn't afford to pay living expenses, forget about buying a house or sending my kids to good universities. Every immigrant friend of mine agrees that there's simply no "upward mobility" left in Canadian society any more, and we worry constantly about our kids generation. Generally Indian immigrants who come to Canada tend to be comfortable if they come from places like Dubai/UAE after saving a million or more dollars. Their savings provide the "cushion" to essentially pay living expenses while they try and find a foothold in this job market over 10-15 years. I've also met Indian tech workers with American H1B visas who immigrated to Canada when their chances of obtaining a US Green Card looked bleak - They also come with lots of savings from the US. But "real Canadian success stories" of average folk who come to Canada with average means and make a much better life for themselves.. You simply don't hear such cases any more, which were common until 30 years ago.

Where as Indian politicians don’t have the guts to speak about high cost of living.. Check for cost of living in metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad. While the cost of living has increased in major metropolitan cities in India when compared to early 21st century, it is still very much below the cost of living in major cities globally. So when you enter someone's house in India and they give you strawberry cake because they are a good host . Then you start bishing and complaining and throwing the cake in the hosts face and demanding they give you chocolate. So in India you don't throw that guest out? So us Canadians and country is something to use

Justin Trudeau & his government didn't fall from sky. He & his government was overwhelming elected by Canadian people. This is why sometimes I have serious doubts of democracy & elections. When the voters are driven by emotions, then the outcome will never serve good to the country in the mid to long run.

The Liberals were a minority and most of their seats were in Toronto.Where most of the " New Canadians"live. With the backing of the NDP ,is the only reason they have any power .

Not quite. He has a minority government. Only with the support of the NDP he can stay in power. But you are absolutely right that far too many people voted for him.

@Extremaduur that is how our system works. Modi is a criminal who oversees the Gujrat massacre as the chief minister. He was not allowed to visit Canada and the United States of America until he became PM. But Indian keeps voting for him, and his rss dominates party, the bjp.

I came from Uganda to Canada. It isn't easy but I would rather stay here than go back. Life is what you make it to be, things get better over time. you need grit and resilience if you have a dream, going back to your old life is giving up. NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER GIVE IN.

Immigration is ok as long as Canadians get the same treatment to go over to their countries and live and can have the freedom to run for their government, get free housing, jobs, and all kinds of opprtunities. 500,000/year is way to much,Canada has never been known to have 'multitutes of Jobs &housing' so now we are being 'inconvenienced' by all of a sudden being swamped daily by "multitudes" of strangers,no 'bus seats' etc...and didn't we just go through 2 years of "Covid Hell and lockdown because they care so much about our health..who knows what'sicknesses' they are coming into Canada with...don't make sense!!
