Halo Custom Edition was my first ever introduction to PC modding as a 10 year old, and the nostalgia of flying a pelican out of the Hanger on HugeAHH while seeing others driving Scarabs blew my mind
Dude, the big team battles on maps like Extinction and Coldsnap were the stuff of legend. The rare occasion people actually played the objectives was also so freakin' fun. Pelicans loaded up with troops would always be a blast.
What do you mean play something else? No-no-no! you're a serious Halo modder now, you have to keep toiling away making Halo mods for eternity, this is ALL you are now, there's no escape. All kidding aside, you did a great job, you deserve a break, I finally got the chance to try your mod and it was fun, you definitely put some thought and effort into it, also just the first person warthog mod is objectively superior to 3rd person at least in VR, it is imo a necessary mod. Anyways my dream is that we will someday get the VR mod running on Custom Edition so we can play in VR all of those juicy campaign mods like SPV3, Spartan Edition etc that only work on CE.
SPV3 in VR would be a dream come true oof, here's hoping. So far the reality is that SPV3 would need to update itself to be compatible. As for CMT Snow Grove and some other maps, custom assets are hit or miss, and the health HUD for CMT is bound to the reticle, so it looks super odd.
Your mod and Halo VR are pretty much the two main things that made me decide to stop putting off fixing my computer, they look so fun. Also screw the lore, that's what unmodded Halo is for, mods are for doing literally everything else that comes to mind.
The thing is that the sprinting mod makes master chief a lot more lore-accurate if you read the books (or god forbid watch the halo tv show) than the original game.
Thanks for all the support, everyone! The feedback on this mod has been insane, I'm so glad people are hyped about Movement Evolved. I'm working on implementing Multiplayer soon in a beta form for YT Members/Patreon members first (it's complicated, I explain it in a post on Patreon if you wanna know why; final release will be free). For now if anyone wants to join up to support and then see some clips I cut out of this video, here ya go: ruclips.net/video/zi3oCwmep1E/видео.html (YT Members Video) Also I notice now that in one of the thumbnails being tested I put an energy sword in there, but there's no energy sword present in the video at all. The initial clip of my sprinting was initially that, but I forgot to bring focus to this one energy sword mod in the final edit, my bad! Here's one mod I put together that incorporates an existing energy sword mod if you're really itching to swing it around in VR: www.patreon.com/posts/movement-evolved-117866323
Nah, you're cool as hell. I think this video just sorta confirms that I'm down for the kind of content you post. The bell has been rung, you shall never escape now!
Vehicle instakills are the shielding units shorting. CE vehicles are indestructible. Chief's shield used the same tech then- but overlapping the meshes without regulation causes a feedbcak loop to short circuit the mjolnir's... organic components.
@GnappyAssassin lol what Nah dude, Bungie just decided randomly to make a vehicle merely touching any entity to cause 1000 damage minimum. Compare that to 351 damage from a tank shell maximum damage. The vehicles are only indestructible in mutiplayer because they couldn't solve syncing issues of destroyed assets.
"a Lego man in the microwave" ...as a person who's been a Lego enthusiast since I was really little, they're not called that. Haven't been for the vast majority of their existence. They're called "minifigures". I mean, sure, they were referred to as "Lego man/men" in, like, the first decade or so of the idea of making humanoid representations being around in the hobby, but it's been "minifigure" (or just "minifig") ever since.
Not even a little bit. lol Even if I knew how to code, Halo 1 isn't built to work that way, you'd need to change how the entire ammo system works to the point that I suspect it'd be easier to just rebuild the game from scratch in Unity or Unreal.
@FrontwaysLarry ah that makes sense. Thank you for giving this some love all the same! Also, if we just want first person driving and sprinting, is that an option from your modpack?
Im running an rx6800xt and for the life of me i cant get a stable framerate running this in vr. I tried too hack together a dll that uses vulken instead but the game doesnt show up on my headset. Does anyone have any tips too try and get this game running smoother? Hopefully someone makes a vr mod for mcc...
Sounds crazy, but set your desktop display to the lowest resolution it can go. It wont affect the headset image, but it will give you some extra headroom for processing since the game is also being rendered on screen.. Also DONT have a 3rd window running the game on the screen, such as Steam VR viewer.
@@ScottThePisces i think its a problem with halo ce in general, my computer struggles to play spv3 as well despite being more than capable of playing it.
Thank you for making that mod, I didn't even know about halo CE in VR till your mod release video. My wife and I have been having so much fun with it
Glad you two are liking it! The more people that know about CEVR the better.
Halo 1 is peak Larry content, and I am here for it
I'm tired boss
I never really had interest in Halo before, but i'd play it with the VR mod and your movement mod. It looks so cool.

The CE robot is the mecha Nirvash from the anime Eureka Seven.
Thanks so much for your mod!
Lore accurate Master chief:
Now this i gotta try
Now make a mod that can change your horizon so you can do flips and acrobatics and stuff. That would be legendary.
All we need now is manual reloading like other vr shooters
Grappling hook
@altis94 Ask Him.

@@boomdaddymaxwell Yup! I made sure to add those as individual options for the modpack. Makes for tedious work, but worth it.
making more mods?
Mod for room scale, Do you think it’s feasible?
Me, playing Halo since 6, just now heard of Custom Edition... ok... Damn...
Halo Halo Halo Halo !!!
How did you get custom maps to work I cant seem to open the console to load any
OH DAMN you reminded me that I meant to add instructions to the description! Check there, have updated it now.
