    Finally, a channel that has taught me in detail how to draw a flower. I am one of those people that can't draw for the life of me.

    Hi Kateri! Your pansies are lovely!!! I especially enjoy these kinds of small and simple but beautiful projects. I like the Strathmore post cards too - they are just perfect to do a small project and send to my Dad (who’s 95!!) and my friend Sarah!! Thank you so much for sharing your art and your wisdom. Watching your videos and hearing your lovely voice transports me to peaceful and soulful place!! 💐💕🇨🇦

    Kateri, I love this video. I received the set of watercolor paints from Wildthorne, and I love them. Thanks so much for collaborating on this set.

    I really enjoy your teaching. Bought your watercolor classes through Craftsy. They are wonderful. Just discovered this channel andI am so glad! The only negative for me is I cannot see your pencil drawing. It is too light. I am watching on an iPad. Could that be my problem? Is it or you to draw darker? Thank you so much for teaching!

      Hi I too so enjoy Mrs Kateri’s amazing tutorials And it’s not your screen I too couldn’t see any of the drawing due to it being so light. But I did take the screen shot as she suggested and so kindly held up for us to do so. I changed the saturation brightness a plethora of things tho I have no idea exactly what but it made it much easier to see. I’m
      Now going back to listen to the beginning six minutes and try to follow along on drawing it. I hope that helps as it seems to be one of the easiest best explained most simplistic ways to do a pansy. Best regards and hope that helps too!

    I apologize ... I just saw your illustration closeup with your suggestion to take a screenshot, which I did. Thank you! I was frustrated trying ollow along when I could not see what you were drawing..

      It’s hard to show clearly. I’m so sorry. I give line drawings on my Patreon that accompany my videos there, but there is really not a way to do that here.

    This was great - the one I liked best that you did was the one with the really bright colors. Can you tell us who made those colors? Thanks for doing this, it made my day a sweeter day.

      Hi Cynthia! 😊 these were from a student set in my studio. They are dye based so they won’t stay that bright. I’m not sure if it was Prang or Angora. I hope you are well!

    Kateri, I love your ArtIsForEveryone lessons! Unfortunately I’ve tried to see your drawing with the grey pencil on my TV, on a laptop and on an iPad and cannot for the life of me see the lines you are drawing. They are just too light. Any chance you could use a regular pencil or a darker watecolor pencil?

    • @kateriewing
      @kateriewing  6 лет назад

      Oh no! I have been trying to make them darker and to hold them up for screenshots. I will go darker next time. I am so sorry!

      Kateri Ewing That would be great. I WAS able to take a screen shot of the close-up. I sit at my drawing table with a lap top and work right along with you. Such fun! I’ve finished two pansies and am going to try a blue one tomorrow.

    I love painting pansies and hydrangea....
    I’ve been tempted to try that Kilimanjaro paper, they have it in a spiral journal form, and it’s not very expensive. Would you compare it to any higher end papers?

    • @kateriewing
      @kateriewing  4 года назад

      Absolutely. It’s very nice!

    Ok, I did some pansies and my edges are bumpy. I used 300 lb cold by arches and Van Gogh water colors. How do I get pretty edges?

    • @kateriewing
      @kateriewing  6 лет назад +1

      300 lb Arches is gorgeous! But I find it to be textured more like a rough paper. It’s tough to get smooth edges without mindfully going around those edges to fill in the gaps and clean things up, constantly. I ran into this yesterday! Do you have a smoother paper to try? Also, sometimes the loose and expressive look of rough edges in rough paper is exquisite!

      I’m sure there are other videos you can watch. I’m sorry my free video lesson wasn’t up to your standards. And truly, the shapes are quite easy to draw. I’m sure you could follow along.
