    1st. Gloves, go to CVS and buy a box of gloves, that way you do not have to use that silly popsicle stick. Also, you won't get cancer Bonus!
    2cnd. Gladwrap or Saranwrap, Not only does it help prevent airbubbles and make it smooth, it also helps the Catalyst from blowing away in the wind as it fumes out of the Suncure.
    3rd. Poly versus epoxy suncure. Epoxy suncure is total shite! It has the bonding strength of paint at best. Fill the hole with an epoxy stick, then suncure over it with poly suncure. Poly suncurewill melt epoxy foam, but it works great on epoxy lam. Poly bonds way better to an epoxy board than epoxy suncure. Hence why it is so hard to get anything to stick to Firewire boards.

      Does it have to be ding dough brand or can it be any epoxy stick? @jscottk001

      "Also, you won't get cancer Bonus!" This comment makes me dislike doing dings even more! :) And the waste from disposable gloves too! But thats a great trick, as well as the saranwrap- though i do believe some of the kits come with a little piece of clear plastic.

      Any cheap epoxy stick. FCS makes one that is all white. A Lot of the Home Depot pipe epoxy will be greyish. Get 5-minute hardener and Never the added metal epoxy

    I stored my 7 footer in a friend’s garage one summer and her son broke off one of the skegs. I took it to Windsurfing Hamptons to repair and it didn’t hold. Any suggestions?

      I would suggest going to Bunger Surf Shop and do a proper repair.

    Very cool this channel! I'm wacthing everything haha I'm from Brazil and I'm learning surf as well, with a fish board. So, it's good to see a "normal person" playing surf, without typicall surf wear, way to talk, living in a urban house... And with a normal and happy way to surf, with simplicitty and efficient. Aloha, bro!

    Maybe don’t put your board straight on the sidewalk like that , worst case you can use a towel . Otherwise you will be fixing one side while you make new dings on the other side

    I strongly dislike doing ding repairs because of the time but this helps! :)
    Have you surfed any alternative board construction such as epoxy, lib tech, Varial etc? They are all considerably much stronger than standard PU- far less likely to ding...by a lot.
    All but one of my boards are PU with standard polyester resin, but the more i surf them (truth be told i generally ding them moving them around!) and do ding repairs the more i consider switching entirely to stronger construction.
    I'd wager at least %90 of every ding i have done to my boards would not have happened on stronger construction. Even the time when my poorly tied leash loop resulted in new longboard popcorning around on a big surging swell onto jetty would have resulted in far less dings. Yes some say they lack the same performance but I am not a pro ;) Although if Slater rides them they cant be all that bad?

      I do love Varial foam and I did surf before 5'9" Lovemachine Will's Fish and 6'0" Album Twinsman. I think then my Mini Super gets to the point to be replaced, I will order one in Varial for sure!!!

      I've got 6'6" Daniel Jones Twin Pin and 5'10" Shea Somma Daydream Egg Twin.

      @@SkipperSurfReview nice. Any particular reasons you avoid thrusters and prefer twins instead?

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  11 месяцев назад

      @@FluffyAlpaca81 just love the burst of speed on twins and skatey feel sometimes . It makes it more fun.. the twin pin holds great through the turns.. I would use thruster if I had a high performance shortboard. Fortunately I got rid of them. It’s just too much work and less reward. I just wish we had good waves all the time to be able to use them more often not like once a month🤧
