Hi! It’s for the sweetness and fat, and also it’s in liquid form (effects the consistency of batter) instead of powder. Hope it helps in a way.

Is pumpkin purée the same as pumpkin pure?
Hi! Pumpkin purée is just mashed pumpkin, it has nothing else. No sweetener, no spices or etc. Try to see the ingredients in the can/container that you’re using. Hope it helps!
Is there any alternative to subtitute the pumpkin? How about sweet potato?

we did this recipe, and i think something went wrong. maybe we didn’t mix the wet enough, but it wouldn’t stay together at all, everything in the middle stayed liquid :( you guys did nothing wrong though
If you used a square pan that could’ve been the issue, the thicker the batter is in the pan the longer it takes to bake. I’ve never made this recipe before but I’ve had this problem with brownies in the past. The bigger the pan the more spread out the batter will be, so the quicker they will bake
