ABOUT THIS GAME
1942: The world is at war
The Japanese Empire expands throughout the Pacific where Allied forces attempt to halt its spread. A desperate struggle for control of the Solomon Islands is now underway.
How will you protect your transports as they deliver troops and supplies in the South Pacific? Will you deploy precious aircraft carriers to provide air cover? Do you screen the area with submarines? Or attempt to lure the enemy navy into a decisive surface engagement?
Major Features:
Real time naval combat
Theatrical external-view game play
Play as Allied Forces or Imperial Japan
Over 50 classes of playable ships
Dynamic campaign
Tactical control of aircraft (not a flight simulator)
Fight fires, counter flood compartments and repair ships
Sink ships using realistic buoyancy physics
Historical missions based on actual naval engagements
Taff, I beg of you, set your aircraft‘s patrol distance to 0. When you assign fighters to escort something, there is a slider for how close fighters patrol on the same window as the drop-down to select the group being escorted. Also, when attacking bombers, lower your fighter‘s speeds when they get close so they don‘t wildly loop and overshoot!
You have to set fighter speed for attacking bombers? You have to tell pilots how to pilot? That's some dumb AI / game design.
@@fonesrphunny7242The game is barebones, You can manually control planes too like fire the guns, Change speed and height, turn on the radar, open bomb bay doors etc
@@fonesrphunny7242The air to air combat in this game is pretty terrible.
The problem with recording videos in batches is that when you're making a glaringly obvious mistake, you can't correct it till much later.
A6M Zero was quite fast and so in game they project the same behaviour, a solution is that you should manually select the fighter squadrons and reduce their speed. This will be very effective
Yeah, several other streamers of the War on the Sea do exactly that so that they are able to maneuver better and shred the bombers better!
Also micromanaging the dog fights, switching targets changing altitude, breaking away when in danger, cutting speed, to let enemy plane pass
>zero
>fast
hahahahahahahahaha
@@SuperiorBrick Well, faster than many bombers... yeah.
17 episodes in and we've yet to see a major fleet engagement; I'd love to see some cruiser on cruiser action. It would be fitting for the Java Sea, after all.
17 episodes and he still can’t pronounce ‘centrifugal’ properly!
@@wrongtracksuit I believe Taff has mentioned in the past that he suffers from Dyslexia, so cut him some slack! 🤫
edit* just reinstalled WotS, I have 893 hours played on steam lol I'm gonna run a quick campaign in the Beta to refresh myself before I install this mod... now, who to be.... Murica!
One of the most annoying things is that there is not a 'shadow' command for aircraft. I hate micro managing a spotter's course.
26:20. Nobody noticed the beached destroyer or light cruiser in the background…just me?
Watched wolfpack do this from American side when he had fightets up he individual set fighters on each enemy plane as Ai are shit om your side
When you first spotted that task force, a few of the ships ran aground. That's where the damage has come from.
It did look like they were steaming directly at land lol.
I get the feeling he is not reading the comments?
Could your fighters please drop their tanks? Maybe they won't catch fire so easily.
🤔🤔 the next stage now is sum heavy cruiser and destroyers with submarine support to counter the threat what do you think
It's pronounced (sue rah buy ah) as I have heard it.
I’m currently micromanaging dogfights, cutting speed switching targets breaking off when in trouble, the results are great when compared to just letting it play out
An example is when fighters engage bombers like in this video, I individually cut speed so they can engage in first pass, or select a different angle for them to attack from, another example is when engaging American dive/torpedoe planes approaching from the low rear to a avoid rear mg fire
Anyone tried taking over an enemy base on an island where there's a neutral port, does it affect alliances and such?
Saw Wolfpack345 take Dili in his game - Didn't seem to negatively effect anything...
You should micro your planes more
14:50 Did you say, Dorniers? Allies in the Pacific did not use any German planned/made planes far as I know.
The Dutch did, apparently - Dornier flying boats. Weird-looking things, too...
@@thisherehandleIdospout Yeah. Dornier Flugzeugwerke sure made some interesting and rare kind of aircraft. Thank you for educating me. Some Japanese Zero pilots may have had an experience like "What are Allies doing flying with apparently German aircraft? We have to report this back at the base!"
@@Cybernaut76 😆
@@thisherehandleIdospout I did not even intend to joke. First few times American fighter pilots encountered Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien, they reported to their bases "the Japanese are flying German aircraft!". I remember reading that because Japan joined the Axis Powers, a German engineer got his say in Japanese design table and as a result, Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien looked very much like Messerschmitt Bf-109.
@@Cybernaut76 Didn't it also use an engine design very similar to the BMW in the 109s?
Excellent series Taff.
👍
Taff, have you considered enabling submarine detection by aircraft? It was disabled a while ago in an update
Taf lissen.
Denpassar is to the richt of java its bali island easy target.
