Perhaps, to consider doubling the fare increments! Half of it to cover smrt yearly expected rising costs of everything & another NEW portion to help to monitor & ensure NO UNDER maintenance & yet no over maintenance.

Have you ever seen some uncles/aunties(most likely in their 70s ro 80s) running their own retail shops or hawker stalls selling the same price for more than 2 decades(maybe once a 10% increment for 2 decades)? Corporations are just plain greedy. All their wealth they attained doesn't flow back into the financial system

@@zachchh22 Two of the worst MRT service breakdowns occurred on 15 and 17 December 2011. The breakdowns disrupted the travel plans of more than 200,000 commuters and caused a public outcry over SMRT's poor handling of the incidents, even a window was smashed for ventilation. A sagging power-supply rail brings the North-South Line to a standstill on the evening of Dec 15, and then again on the morning of Dec 17, as SMRT fails to detect and rectify the damage completely.

Dont pretend like productivity will be badly affected by this disruption. The fact that you are here commenting instead on focusing on work shows regardless of any incident that will happen with the transport system, you are still unproductive.

Weekday whole day disruption. What's the pojnt of taking the connection bus services if the connection bus services still have to stop at every traffic lights? Isn't the whole point of taking trains is to skip multiple traffic lights? Just what are the maintenance team doing?? Didn't smrt hired a whole team of train techniciansro maintain

Trains kind of oso have a traffic light.But they are in stations.and that's where ppl alight and board.they can only depart when the signal turns white.cuz of this many of us dk that trains have sort of a traffic light

Line is more than 30 years. Power outage too often. Shutdown some station to do major overhaul rather than just do minor fix and patch here patch there

(1)That day I commented on an SG news video: When Singaporeans present whatever, they stress on the articles, prepositions and conjunctions instead of the content words, like "ON 17 December, MANY parts of SINAPORE experienceintensedownpour". The stress should be on INTENSE & DOWNPOUR. Instead of showing appreciation and allow Singaporeans to learn something which our EL teachers don't teach, that channel deleted my comment.
(2) Those SG people trying to sell us something : "I'll give YOU a blublublu AND blublublu".
(3) At the clinic : "Madam ongbeelian, plis COME to COUNTER blublu" instead of "madam ONG BEE LIAN, please come to counter EIGHT".
(4) DON'T parrot the Americans anyhow say "MINE father", "MINE grandfather".

Who was the one who boasted that there were lesser breakdown of the trains in recent times? Not lesser but slowly increasing. And when it does happen, the implications are as happening as this one.

It’s always in situations like this that I couldn’t find those commentors whom likes to blow Hot air and brag that Singapore’s Transport system is “so convenient PLUS efficient”, so much so that you “do not even need a personal Car”, even for those with large families… 🤔

That's a weird sentiment to have. Of course you won't find such comments about the MRT's efficiency, because literally no one asked. Usually when those comments appear, it's because the video also mentions MRT's efficiency. It would be silly to comment about these things here.
Anyway, the MRT is still very efficient, and it has greater than 99.95% uptime during its working hours over a long period of time (>5 years) taken as the sample. You're either baiting or just angry for no real reason.
Haha... I have lived in several countries and I am still going to tell you that Singapore really does have one of the best public transportation system in the world. Disruption can occur but the up time is basically 99.9%. This kind of disruption is always huge because many people depend on it but it also underscore just how important it is because no system - not cars, not even just buses, and certainly not some American style, build more roads! is ever going to be as good as trains - in moving large number of people. It's like an airplane crash, it's always a huge news because of how bombastic it is when it happened but you are far far more likely to get into a car accident as a passenger, driver or pedestrian than ever in an airplane crash.
If maintenance was not done well, then there needs to be an autopsy report on how to make it better but the fact that a lot of people are complaining here really showed that you people are really 生在福中不知福. Go to Bangkok, or KL, or I even dare anyone here to go live a week in LA and go to work driving at peak hours, you will want to off yourself.

Relax! The reason why this is happening is because Mars and Moon is conjunct in Gemini in Ardra Nakshatra. Will be fine once Moon moves away into Cancer by Friday morning. Mercury is not retrograde. So all will be fine soon once Shopee delivers the spare parts to SMRT.
