It's always amazing to me to hear all the vegan products you have in Portland, even at the discount stores. I'm lucky to find tofu at my local store :(
The Trader Joe's beefless bulgogi is really good. It comes in a block and you just heat it in a pan for 15 minutes, breaking it up every few minutes to separate. Great texture and taste!
The pancake sausage on a stick things are actually REALLY yummy, but unfortunately, they're also very expensive. I also tried the chickn and waffle sandwich thingy. It was WAY smaller than I expected based o the photo o the box, but was also delicious. I mixed Sriracha with maple syrup and drizzled it all over them. Omni has some products i Walmart now, ad the luncheon meat (aka Spam) is really really good when its fried. Tastes just like I remember Spam tasting. I wasn't a huge fan of the crab cakes or potstickers, tho. This wasn't on your list, but VioLife came out with a french onion dip and, although it is a bit thicker than I would like it to be, it tastes EXACTLY how I remember Helluva Good french onion dip, and its sooooooooo good on plain ruffles. I've had it a few times now and I actually started mixing it with a bit of plain vegan yogurt to thin it out (and stretch it, cause the tubs are pretty small), and its still amazing
For the gardein be'f tips my recommendation is to chop it up into small pieces with the cooking spoon as it's cooking. More surface area less volume in each so you don't get that weird soft inside feeling.
When I first saw the pancakes on a stick, I also did a double take with an immediate "wtf?" reaction... I eventually tried them, however, and thought they were the best vegan product I've had in a long time. I air fried it and it was delectable... I thought it was all marketing and would essentially be a repackaging of their corn dogs, but it was definitely distinct (and better)!
I love the nourish camembert. But not right out of the store. By accident I found out it tasts very close to cow's milk camembert, when you freeze it and then thaw it in the fridge and keep it there for a week or two. It seems to age, and while I wasn't too keen on having it fresh, the freezer trick worked beautifully.
I love the pancake sausage on a stick! They're best out of the microwave. In my opinion, they're not supposed to be crispy and should be soft and 'syrupy'. Note: they heat up very fast! They are ridiculously expensive though - I cannot figure out why. Why are they twice the price of the corn dogs?
Tell me your a super taster without telling me your a super taster. That’s the vibe got from this video. Cool to see all the different products though.
Thanks for the video, love watching you as always! 😊 btw I love these longer videos I wish I had more to stream may have to become a patron member! Lol ❤ much vegan love ur way
After seeing tour Grocery Outlet video I stopped on one in the Bay Area and nought LOTS of great vegan protein, and lots of other organic vegan food! Thank you so mich for the tip on Grocery Outlet, I saved over $100.00 dollars!
I use Coffeemate’s brown sugar oat milk in my coffee. It’s part of the Natural Bliss selection. I also like Simple Truth’s caramel oat milk. I’m not a fan of Planet Oat at all. Haven’t tried Ripple.
If you haven't tried it yet then try SIMULATE chicken nuggets. Probably the best vegan chicken nuggets I have ever had. Also, the company is explicitly pro-GMO unlike Beyond Meat which has the stupid anti GMO butterfly on the label.
I didn't care for the simulate nuggets. The texture is so bizarre and off putting to me, they're like... slimy and gummy and they have a weird taste too 🤢
@@laurenelizabeth2505 there is nothing inherently bad with GMOs. They are as safe as any other new organisms. The anti GMO stuff is just unnecessary fearmongering against a technique that could help us all.
The chicken waffle sandwich is good on mornings when I'm up in a hurry and can't make a satisfying breakfast. It's honestly not bad either. It's nice as a vegan having our own fast, junky breakfast options.
Try Meati. It's in all Sprouts grocery stores now (or online but they're always sold out). I like it because it's a complete protein, but it's not derived from soy or wheat. Nothing wrong with those, but almost every mock meat seems to be made of those two. Meati is made of mycelium. When thawed, well seasoned, and sauteed, it's great! Has a meaty texture.
my local walmart is like that too in that the vegan cream cheese (violife i think) is located next to the regular cream cheese. yet they have a little vegan section where the chao and tofurkey is, in a another part of the store. i didn't know they had it for the longest time, and i probably would be better off that way 'cause dude that shit's expensive - makes me miss trader joe's vegan cream cheese
Omni stuff is showing up at Walmart now and they're also putting out lots of online coupons. I didn't like it (their span like product) but the coupon made me no regret buying it to try it.
I've really been liking Zoglo's "Incredible" line of mock meats. Meatballs and hotdogs are the best I've had, the "chicken" pieces are pretty good too. I'm not sure if they have this brand in the USA though. The one time Canada has something and the USA doesn't rather than the other way around 🤣
The natreve moo less animal free whey is ok. I prefer California performance co but the moo less has more flavor options and I got some at home goods for crazy cheap.
Ripple Half & Half has become virtually impossible to find in San Francisco. So disappointing as that was my all time favorite coffee creamer. So good!
I gave up on everything "Beyond" brand except their breakfast sausage, which I like. You're right; their burgers are disgusting! I haven't tried their beef steak tips, so I'll try those since you liked them. I still love flavored creamers, but I tried your coffee order and just put 1/4 steamed soy milk and stevia in my coffee and I liked it (plus protein, calcium, etc)! I too love the Ripple, but it's so expensive! I wait for it to go BOGO at Publix. I've never been bit on any pre-packaged vegan meatballs because fennel, but I must say I tried the Trader Joe's ones and I didn't like them in Spaghetti, but I DID like them with BBQ sauce for some reason. We do this thing where I live where you mix BBQ sauce and grape jelly in a crock pot with meatballs and I tried that and it's delicious!!
Hey swayze (or anybody in the comments who might have some wisdom) I’m 100% sure I have a B12 deficiency. I’m not anti supplement or anything, I’ve just been lazy over the past three years of being vegan, and supplementing just never cemented into my daily routine. I’m fatigued, have a runny nose and I’ve noticed my immune system is worse, because colds are a lot more frequent and long lasting than they use to be. I’ve been supplementing consistently for the last few weeks, will my B12 levels go back to normal if I just supplement from now on? Or should I visit the doctor and get blood tests and what not? It seems a bit pointless since I already know I’m deficient. Any advice would be appreciated :-)
The RUclips comment section is probably not the best place to get advise for this :p I would generally advise anyone to get a blood test done every once in a while, especially if you have symptoms that could point to a nutrient deficiency.
A vegan dagwood dog? (First item) (or Pluto pup.. depending on location) Meat dagwood dogs are amazing. Can get them all over Australia. Never seen a vegan one, but I'd definitely try it. Tempted to go get some vegan hot dogs and make my own.
I've seen more and more regular (not crazy raw-foodist) vegan influencers pick up on the animal-free whey stuff and their response has been overwhelmingly negative, ranging from "milk protein is inherently unhealthy so why would I choose to eat this" to straight up "this isn't vegan", so I'm really glad there are still reasonable people like you normalizing this type of products and bringing attention to how much of a positive impact these innovations can have on animal welfare. Thank you!
@ERinaa Look for green boxes in the ice cream isle, they got vegan ice cream sandwiches too, haven't tried and the pints. Also newish at aldi fake cheese, tofu, French onion dip didn't like it, vegan meatballs, not cow creamer and I think vegan protine bars

What’s creamer? Is it similar to milk?
Similar to half and half but with added sweetener and sometimes flavors like vanilla. You typically pour it into coffee sometimes tea.
