    I went into a BMW dealer for a "23 Hayabusa and came out with a '24 R18.

Hi Rick I bought my self a standard first edition which I love but just bought the bobber kit to fit, how does it compare to riding one with the standard seat with the difference in hight and comfort and possible weight saving, I am 5'11 and the standard set up gives me a little cramp in my hip after a few hours riding.

I’m 6’ , mostly legs! But I did actually prefer the Bobber seat to the standard. I was in the saddle for about an hour so I can only confirm the comfort for a shorter period but I was riding over 6 hours that day with no further issues. Hope this helps!

Did they set the rear preload for your weight ?
Seems to be scraping much earlier than my R18

No one had messed with the preload for me, I just jumped on it! It felt like it was scraping early compared to other R18s I’ve ridden - don’t know whether it was meant to sit lower being the Bobber

@@rick.cutler Yeah, adjustment makes a big difference.
If it’s @ default setting or previously for someone much lighter than you, the sag will be much greater with you on it).
Mine wasn’t set up for me when purchased new, so I experienced a few early scrapes. Adjustment made a huge difference.
(I’m 6’5” / 100kg, so I set the preload to ~110kg to allow for gear).
I recall that the default setting is ~80kg.
Easily set under right side cover.

That’s really good to know, and definitely explains why I was scraping so early!

@@rick.cutlerI knew to adjust the suspension when I bought mine. I've never scraped. You can also adjust the brake and gear shifter to suit your liking. RUclipsrs call these two things design flaws, when they're not. The only flaw is the complete ignorance of the "reviewer." If I were a BMW big wig, you peoole would be hearing from my law firm.
