You’re right, there isn’t a massive amount of toe clearance on the cylinder, that’s with me riding in Sidi adventure boots. The heel shift did make a big difference in allowing me to change up (and even down if you got the hang of it) and it added to the little features that make this bike stand out from the rest! I really enjoy riding these big things!

The Gear shifts are spliced and adjustable. Quite simple to get right for the rider, before you go at the dealer, or at home if you buy one

Wow! Lucky you for managing to get one of the few that made it there! I love the bike - it’s an experience riding one and completely different from a normal street bike, you do have to slow down for corners a little more to open them up. But the pay off is being able to open it up in the other side! The torque is addictive! The bike does have the lovely feature of rocking / leaning to the left if you rev it… lots of fun when you are at a standstill, just remember that it will pull you to the left if you are filtering through traffic and dip the clutch to give a little audible rev for the cars nearby - it might pull you into one!! 🤣👍

Hello Chewie! I am 6ft and found the ride on this quite relaxed for a sports derived / oriented bike. I have long legs and arms which means that I can be more upright for my shoulders and reach but that usually puts my hips at an awkward angle giving me pain or pins and needles in my legs after an hour or so… I had none of those usual sports bike pains with this bike - I found the ride position was comfortable for the 90+minutes of saddle time I had in one sitting, but definitely felt like I was in an engaging riding position and very much in tune with the bike! Hope this helps!

Unfortunately not every brand wants to show up to every event… if my memory serves me correctly, Honda was only represented by 3 fireblades with a small backdrop. There was no stand, nor representatives from Honda to engage with the public. As a Honda fan I was disappointed too!

It’s simply a clamp style mount with the Ram type ball mounts - I would suggest looking closer when shopping around to find the metal ones as the plastic / rubber ones have too much flex and it can be seen in the footage. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the feedback! We were pushed for time at this event and just wanted to capture as much of it as possible! There were so many bikes there and we could have made a 15 minute video on each bike as the designs and features of each build were incredible and so deeply detailed - we had to make sure that we captured every bike on show so that no build was missed out! Apologies for the late reply!

The R18 ‘s are such a fantastic bike - I feel like they can appeal to more riders because it is so easy to ride, and has the uncanny ability to put a smile on your face regardless of your age. I hope the 100 years brings you more miles and memories!

Hi Paul! Glad you enjoyed the review! I must admit when I was riding this it was my first experience of a bike with a quickshifter - I think I was so focused on riding the bike and experiencing it as well as giving an honest assessment of the bike, I might have just defaulted to using the clutch out of habit! I don’t think there’s a running in procedure for using the clutch - just your usual varying the roads and road speeds to bed in the piston rings 😎👍

That was the plan, to get all the custom bikes on show - unfortunately I was limited on time and wouldn’t have been able to do it justice. But I will be attending the Bike Shed Show, so if you’re into custom builds there will be a full walkthrough of that show in May!

I love that Kawasaki are doing the throw-back colour schemes to the 80’s / 90’s models - they still look great to this day! I think there’ll be a few people picking up the new bike and sourcing their old ones to have the matching pair in the garage - I know I would!

Heya Dom! Yeah I noticed that, i understand that these bikes are the dealers’ stock and they’re trying to look after the products, but I agree that if you’re bringing bikes to a show then you should accept that the visitors should have access to try them. It’s no different to the Harley Davidsons, which had a lot more interaction with the public and the brands like Indian really need to appreciate the benefit to customer engagement.

Yeah that Lambo Streetfighter is incredible! I must admit that the Indian FTR1200 looked pretty sweet in blue carbon fibre! And a nice little surprise was the Mutt RS-13 as it’s a new 125cc but it seemed almost over engineered for the price! A very cool industrial design.

I still look back at this video with real fond memories of the bike - it certainly left an impression!

I’ve got the 1100 adventure sport, I do love it dearly but it is heavy as soon as you look to any sort of light off-roading

There were loads of bikes on display, I just caught the new updates for the Tenere line-up for 2024 and the face-lift to the MT-09 and SP as a priority. I’m at another show next week, is there any models in particular that you would like me to feature in the next video?
