Personally I didn’t like the asymmetric frame when standing and the smoothness around stationary RPM (for technical stuff). Hell of a looker though, and onroad or sitting it’s awesome. Suspension is right up there with WP Apex.
Buy one in 2024? Why on earth would I do that? I picked up a 2023 DDX four months ago. Have 4k miles on it already. 😊 I did the full race Termignoni race exhaust system, with EVO tune. What a great sound the L twin makes with a cat delete.
Dear Charlie you're too short to ride a bike that tall. I'm 5' 11" and it was too tall for me. Buy a BMW R9T scrambler (same HP as a DesertX ) and put a Givi Airflow windshield on it and bobs your uncle.

The sound is incredible. I just got back from a five hour ride today. 4.7k miles now.
